  1. Its a lifestyle, not a fix. It will be there forever. I know now that I'm in my mid 20's that it's not as easy to keep my weight down. I used to be able to eat whatever but my metabolism was so good that my weight only ever moved by lie 3lbs. Now thats not the case (hence I got up 13lbs). I made the mistake of weighing in this morning. Probs not the best idea. Once a week on the same day each week is the best option. I need to get back to my cross training workouts. :S
  2. @@Wafflesmom OMG! I almost got ready eyed reading your post and seeing the photo! What a magical moment! My dress is actually also the very first dress I tried on (but bought it 3 appointments later haha). I absolutely love that dress you picked. It suits you perfectly and I'm sure it is going to make your day just that much more special. Congrats!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. @Joanabanana you can totally do it! Added you on myfitnesspal! We can both do it. Just need some will power and determination! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. @@Wafflesmom! Right!! How could I forget all those! Vital to a wedding haha. Luckily my fi's mom does body sugaring and will do my legs prior to the wedding but the rest I will have to make sure I jot down to make appointments for closer to the date. As for alterations I pick up my dress sometime next month I think with the first set of alterations done. I will try it on again in December and if all is still good I'm good to go, If not I'll book an appointment t. Added to the list! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. @@JoannaBanana I feel you. I thought once the wedding was booked and we were a year out I would be so on track and get in the best shape of my life. Unfortunately I did the opposite and gained weight, got lazy, ate poorly. Now that I'm 6 months out, I tell you, motivation at its finest here. I just ran my first half marathon and because my training lacked I hurt my knees, so since I can't workout, my diet is practically flawless now. Apparently I just needed to hit my breaking point, which was 6 months away from my wedding and needing to lose 13lbs! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. What about a spray tan prior to going. I was considering it so help prevent being pasty white in the sun when we got there which would also help prevent a burn. Any other brides done this? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. @@calgarybride2015 That was the package I had down in my budget and then they changed the price to $2500 and its just crazy!
  8. I've narrowed it down to Octavio Montes ($1650 for 6 hours), Lacelotti ($1600 for 6 hours), and Luckie Photography ($1600 for 8 hours). And now i've just realised that those are USD meaning my cheapest price will be $2135 @@JoannaBanana Here is the new adventure photos price list: Looks like @@nkavanaugh beat me to it!
  9. Yeah it is the photographer for our wedding photos. My original plan was to go with the resort photographer and I assumed I had till 3 months prior to the wedding date to pick because thats when the coordinator told me to send all my requests in. But when I found out the resort photography package jumped up by $1000 I was forced to look elsewhere. Right now my FI isn't much help as he is building a fireplace in our house and doesn't help with any wedding decisions (not that i'm complaining since i'm getting a fancy fireplace out of the deal haha). I think this week I will just make a decision on a photographer and book. All the ones I've short listed are available on our wedding day still thank goodness! But the cheapest I can find for what we want (including the resort outside photographer fee) is $2000:( I think I will just have to suck it up and book.
  10. @@Meandhim Thanks! I couldn't find them on Vistaprint but I was calling them Door hangers, so that makes sense. I'm trying to find something on staples too now. I deffs don't need 50.
  11. Okay so I've written a to-do list now that i'm 6 months away from the wedding. Does it look like I've missed anything? Destination Wedding to do list: Pick extras with resort Buy Grooms suit Buy Groomsmen’s outfits Bridesmaids shoes Buy Bridal attire Veil Shoes Low back/ no back bra Jewelry Pick father- daughter dance song Pick Mother- son dance song Pick ceremony music Pick & book photographer Buy cake topper Make cake starfish Buy wedding favors Get marriage license Book legal wedding Buy new suitcases Buy new bikini Seating chart Music wish list Finish making ring box Find card box Mother’s and father’s gifts At Home Reception to do list: Decide on hall room size Book catering Find sound system Rent table cloths Buy battery operated candles Set up music playlist Liquor license Buy Alcohol
  12. @@calgarybride2015 Thanks! I thought the "After Party" was like to continue the palapa rental for more time. I think I know everything I need now for booking my extras with the resort! Excited!!
  13. @@Meandhim I already bought some real starfish on etsy so I think I might actually paint them and add the bling like you mentioned. That will save so much money! Thank you for the tip!
  14. @@Meandhim Good thinking. I really loved these starfish on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/128551314/beach-wedding-cake-decoration-3-starfish?ref=favs_view_17 I think its a little pricy for just the cake that no one will remember haha. I think you might be right about the card box. I might have to look for something light and small. I can probably find something more creative for my at home reception but I suppose I should have something for the DW. Thanks
  15. @@KBGWedding Congrats! Exciting to have another Grand Sirenis bride on here! I don't think you need much for decorations, but as time keeps going on I keep adding more and more deocations to my "wedding room" at home. I'm also having an at home reception so a lot of my deocrations will be used at home rather than in Mexico. I think it will come down to how much I can pack in suitcases and how much i can convince my family and wedding party to bring with them Yes OOT bags are Out of town bags. I'm only making them for my wedding party since suitcase room is an issue. I will post pictures of what I've made soon.
  16. @@JoannaBanana & @@calgarybride2015 & @@nkavanaugh Interesting info. I reached out to Adrianna yesterday and gave her a list of everything I wanted. She said my quote was about 37,000 pesos. Which is better than I thought because she isn't charging me for the Gazebo like they originally told me which saves me like $450 CDN! I also found out that the BBQ Buffet is a minimum of 30 people so she put down 30 people for that, which is more than I had planned but c'est la vie. Does anyone know what the "After Party" is on the extra list?
  17. @@calgarybride2015 Wow! Thanks. I just went through my emails from Adriana and she said i have to pay that 5250 pesos for the ceremony and then that 11800 for the reception. They must have changed things around.
  18. @@calgarybride2015 This is what Adrianna told me: "If you prefer to choose another package, then the extra will be the Bamboo Gazebo ( includes white fabrics and chairs with white cover for 10 people ($5.250 Mexican pesos). If you have more guests or we will like to add another color this will be an additional as well." So I think I have to pay for the Bamboo Gazebo (not archway sorry my mistake). But is this the same thing you did?
  19. @@JoannaBanana & @@calgarybride2015 What do you mean one is included? I am doing the same as you did calgarybride2015 and they told me if I do the free ceremony on the palapa beach I have to rent the $800 archway in order to get the beach. That is basically the cost of having my ceremony on the beach. Did you do something else??
  20. Ahhhh! I'm officially 6 months away from our wedding day!! I feel like things are going smoothly and I'll have some stuff to update everyone on soon. I'm working on a few crafts like our diy ring box! Now I want the next 6 months to fly by! I'm getting so excited! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. I bought my chair sashes on eBay! I got 50 teal blue organza sashes for $30. Way better deal than the resort. I am going to re-use them for my at home reception, and then I will probably be able to sell them for the same amount and then I've incured no cost at all. Keep a look at your local Facebook wedding swap and shop because right now with wedding season in effect brides are selling their stuff! @@calgarybride2015 I would love a copy of your wedding breakdown. Even though prices seem to be really changing between 2015 and 2016. I feel like my costs keep adding up (that and I keep getting new ideas). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. @@acw271011 Oh wow! Your dress is stunning and you even more so in it! It is such a beautiful dress! I love the veil with it! It really completes the look! I can't wait to see what it will all look like with the jewelry and blue shoes! Gorgeous! Congrats Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. @@misbosox Omg! I love your decor! Congratulations on your big day! Everything looks so amazing! I can't believe you brought all that with you! Well done! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
