@@BritML0121 Hi I just had my wedding there at Secrets Wild Orchid Memorial Weekend and if you have any questions on my experience, I can answere them for you. I have to say you have DEFINITELY chosen the right resort for your wedding. My guests are still complimenting my choice to have it there. They had an absolute blast. And I was absolutely pleased myself. Any questions please feel free to hit me. I know destination weddings and planning something away is tough.

@@RandL2015 Congrats on your marriage! You are married now girly! Yayyyyy! That is so awesome! It's so crazy how time is flying by so quickly! I feel like I need to get myself together and quickly! I am soooo happy to hear that your wedding turned out beautiful and that your guests enjoyed their stay! Thank u soooo much for answering the ballroom questions... I do have a few questions that maybe you can answer.. Trying to figure out how to do our ceremony music...did u use your own iPod and just rent their sound system? If so did they help you time it out and help you manage the music or did u have a friend do it? Did u have guests that stayed on a different property? How did they go about paying for the $80 resort fee? Do they pay upon entry into the resort or do they check in at front desk to pay? Did you use their in house florist, Tai Flora? Or someone else? I'm still waiting on Tai Flora to send me a quote. Their follow up isn't good at all so I'm really scared to even use them. It sucks! I'm looking into Helen G for some flowers just bc they have better a better response time. On your review, you mentioned they added some uplighting to ballroom. I wanted to have my reception in ballroom but wondered about the cost of uplighting. I'm sure there's a hefty charge with all the other stuff they charge for ;( Do you remember how much the bamboo arch was on their price list? I can't find it on my PDF file for them.... Did u use a DJ? Is so who did you get as a DJ? Hope this isn't too much to be asking but I certainly thank you for your review!

@@RandL2015 OMG its about that time! I know your wedding will be absolutely gorgeous! I can't believe the time is flying by like it is. Slow down! Lol Why am I already having anxiety attacks and not sleeping and I still have some time to go...lmao ill be honest I'm second guessing just about everything now..I know it's just nerves but Jesus please be a fence! Anywho we are starting to get RSVPs back but at the same time I'm getting a lot of people questioning why I've chosen this resort .ie) ppl saying .it's expensive , are there other hotels cheaper etc etc blah blah blah...people are so funny! I just would never. If u can't go then you can't go. Calgon on take me away! I'm sure everyone will go well and I'm looking forward to hearing how your big day went! Just remember to have fun and most importantly (which I keep trying to tell myself-and need to listen to myself) a wedding is only 4 hours out of my life...don't stress the small stuff...enjoy your new hubby! And have fun and soak up the sun!

@@pjsandwich I know this is a weird question but for the ballroom, Is there an outside patio that sits off the ballroom? Say for instance if some of yhe guys want to step out and smoke a cigar, is there EASY access to the outside? Just curious...

@@RandL2015 I can already foresee people not rsvp'n as well. We are planning to send out our invites this month with a deadline of Dec 31st. I'm just hoping my guests will send their rsvps back in time so I can get a good headcount. How exciting though for you! Getting pretty close! I'm sure everything will go fine and I keep hearing that the resort is beautiful!

I too am getting married there and was planning to do my ceremony at Barracuda and have the reception in ballroom.i too don't want my guests sweating bullets lol! I have a question: did you switch out your chairs in the ballroom or did you use the chairs that are already in the ballroom? Just wondering if they are wedding appropriate or not. Did you use a DJ? If so, which DJ did you get?

I think the majority of us brides just want everything to be okay and having a destination is a little hard..anywho it's great to hear that everything went well...I'm thinking about having my reception inside since my wedding is in May and it may be super humid. This may sound crazy lol but How were the mosquitoes there?

I'm new to this site as well.how has your planning gone so far with the WC at Wild orchid? have the WC been helpful? I'm just starting the process so any pointers or things to watch out for?

I'm very new to this site and wedding planning. Hope I can find some other brides here planning to get married here at Secrets Wild Orchid. I just put my deposit down for May 28th, 2016. Memorial weekend. Would love to hear from others that are planning or in process of planning their wedding ;-) ????
