  1. Feeling like I am finally getting somewhere with the planning. Sent out STDs 2 weeks ago, picked colors, bought welcome bag totes yesterday at a steal and finally bought my wedding dress. Next on my list is selecting invites. I finally heard back from the new coordinator as well.
  2. Still haven't heard back from my email, but I have no clue who my coordinator is now. Going to email my TA today to get some answers for me.
  3. UGHH!! How long should it take for Maribel to get back to me with answers to questions? It's been 4 days and I don't want to be "that" bride, but I feel like answers should be easier to get.
  4. Hi all! I had found this great facebook group for Cancun Brides that has been hugely helpful, but none of the brides seem to be having their wedding at ERC. I was just curious if it would be easier to communicate and share things if we had a FB group as well. Just a thought. I so enjoy seeing and hearing from everyone and all of their suggestions.
  5. We were super fortunate and able to book our airfare already so we are completely booked!   6. I am trying to create a "timeline" to do things and I am lost. I also want to get the welcome bags done ASAP. I created a list of what I would like bought/created for the bags themselves and would like to focus one item a month....silly I know, but I handle things best when in small tasks. People are starting to book now for the wedding and for some reason that both excites and frightens me. There's no going back now!!
  7. It's been pretty quiet around here! Just curious where everyone is with their planning. We are officially under a year now so I feel like I should be doing something at this point....
  8. Oh wow! I never even thought of this. We have been using our Capitol One Platinum.....hopefully they don't charge these fees either.
  9. Luckily, we haven't sent out the website info to our guests yet so we have no booked guests at this point, so it makes sense for us to cancel and rebook if our TA can not honor the promotion.

  11. Thanks for the info @@TNT2015. I am just anxious if we cancel and re-book we will lose our day. I guess I could speak with Jessica and explain the situation. That's a shame that they won't retro do your package to get you the best deal. It will save us like $2,000 so I need to at least look into it at this point. Were the room rates good for your guests?
  12. Quick question: Has anyone used Destination Weddings to plan their ERC wedding? We have previously booked with a TA, but just received a new promotion that is amazing for ERC through Destination Wedding. Plus, I have had some concerns with our TA in the short amount of time I have been dealing with her. Also, if we have made a deposit, is it best to cancel the deposit or will Destination Weddings be able to "assume" that reservation?
  13. I know this has been asked before, but what time do you recommend hair and makeup for a 5:00pm wedding? I know I have a ton of time, but I was just told there are two other weddings the same day and I should select my venues and spa service times ASAP. Thanks!
  14. Quick question. Which restaurant did you all choose to have your romantic dinner for two at? Jessica sent me a form to fill out and that was one of our questions. Not sure what it entails. Also, does anyone know if you get the Honeymoon package with the upgraded wedding package?
  15. @@Sabes44 I sent you a request on Shutterfly so I can view the photos. For us, we are trying to cut costs wherever possible with the wedding because we are doing a reception when we get home for all of the non-attending friends and family that is costing a ton too. Anyplace that I can feel comfortable hosting without the cost of added decor expense, I am interested in, so Las Olas seemed perfect. When you get a chance would you mind answering a few other questions? I thought I read you did not have a dj. Did you use rent the sound system? Did you have a private welcome dinner? If not, where did you have it? Sorry for all of the questions!

  17. @@JenniferH114 Thanks for the tip. I have not been there. That may be the push I need to decide to do the pier. I just read on the Excellence facebook page that the pools are closed in the evening. Does anyone know if any pools are open in the evening? Just curious as to what our evening options are since there is no longer a dance club/disco. My fiance is 12 years younger than me and his friends are all in the 23-27 year old range and I want to ensure they won't be bored at night and I am not sure that the shows will be that appealing to them.
  18. Thanks for the info Jennifer. We just put our deposit down on our room reservation and are waiting for the TA to get our wedding date confirmed with Jessica f(she is holding it at this point) and get a group code for our website apparently. It is all very confusing to me. I spent most of today going back through old messages and threads on here and it was super helpful. Based off of all of my research so far, I believe we will do a beach gazebo wedding, X-Club cocktail hour and Las Olas reception. We will have a small group (20 total probably), so we can not do the Lobster House. I have gotten so many ideas from this board...it is amazing! I can not wait to get further into the planning and get to talk to Jessica about all of the options. Looking forward to learning everything I can from you experts!
  19. We are unsure if we want to do the beach or the pier. We are leaning towards the beach, but the pier seems to give off a more private and serene location from looking at different pictures. In terms of reception, I do not even know where to start. I am reading through these threads trying to utilize all of the research that you ladies have already done. How early can you start talking with the wedding coordinator to get further information?
  20. Hi! After much thought my fiancee and I just booked our wedding for next September at ERC. I know we have plenty of time between now and then, but I am a type A planner so I have a lot of questions and look forward to hearing about all of your upcoming weddings. I am going to attempt to work my way back through some of the older messages to get some info too.
  21. Good morning all. I am in the very early stages of planning our 2016 destination wedding and thought we had decided fully on Excellence. We are now considering the El Dorado Royale as well and was hoping that someone could tell me if there is an official ERC forum as there is for the EDR. I would love to be able to attempt to compare the two. Thanks in advance for any help!
