Hey Ladies! So I'm getting married March 16,2016 (only about 7 weeks away!!!) Just wondering if anyone can help me out. . i have a few questions. 1. I am planning a buffet dinner at the relaxing pool and for budget reasons, only want to book the 3 hours .. but im concerned people will take a long time and putt around eating and we wont have a lot of time to dance and party .. has anyone else done this ? feedback ? 2. I am contemplating renting the bridal suite .. but i don't know if any of us will get our hair done at the spa .. is it worth it to rent the suite, or should we just get ready in my room ( i only have 4 bridesmaids) 3. I wasn't planning on doing any extra decoration, just have the tables set up with the plate settings and that be it .. has anyone else done this? Have any pictures of what it would look like? Thanks so much

I am wondering if someone can tell me where exactly the relaxing pool is .. i am looking at the pools, and im wondering if its the one connected to the main pool where the bar is close to the beach?? Thanks

Hi! I am having a hard time deciding what colors to have my groom and his men to wear. My dress is a ivory with gold/champagne beading and my girls are wearing coral. I think I want them to wear beige pants and a white top but I'm worried the white tops are just too plain... I would love to see some pics of other brides and what their guys wore with a similar gown! I'll try to attach pictures but my dress is Quincy by Maggie sottero and the girls are wearing from David's bridal Short Crinkle Chiffon Dress with Front Cascade in coral reef. Hi Brides! I am looking for any help you may have for a great photographer in Punta Cana .. that is reasonably priced .. and when i say that .. i mean. . no more than $2000 for a decent package (7+ hours of coverage) .. i feel like when looking at the prices of photographers my budget is low .. but considering my wedding is costing $3000 alone .. i don't have much room left for the photographers! I am from Canada, and I hate that all these prices are in USD!! It kills me .. are there any photographers, other than Photo Phil, that charge in CAD?? I love Karina Jensen's style .. her prices aren't too bad .. but i just wanted to check and see if any brides found someone with the same style, but less $$

We are going in March 2016 and I JUST realized how extremely far away and inconvenient the "deluxe garden view" rooms are from the actual resort/beach .. I'm actually mad right now. We used a travel agent and I had been to the resort when it was Eden h and loved it, but we stayed in the Bravaro Building & Punta Cana Buildings!! My question is, when I asked my agent how I can get us in the other buildings (still waiting on the $ to upgrade) she says "I can't guarantee anything it's up to the resort when you get there" which makes me so mad and wonder why the heck I used her in the first place!!!! I'm wondering if i contact the resort if there is anything they will do for me??? I'm so upset about this and we have 35 people going so I feel like someone should be helping us out here considering we are already paying $1900 a person to go here!! If I would have known this I probably wouldn't have chosen this resort .. I'm so bummed

Hey Brides! So our wedding date is confirmed!! March 16th 2016 @ the fountain and a private reception at the relaxed pool!!! Has anyone booked a photographer yet?! I just emailed Photo Souvenir I had read a few reviews that their pictures were amazing, hopefully their prices aren't toooo bad .. considering I'm going to have to also pay $500 to bring someone onto the resort .. i don't want to skimp on my photos .. but i also don't want to pay an arm and a leg! haha

Hey Ladies!! I sent off my deposit yesterday .. still haven't heard back from the WC but i know that is not unusual! haha While im waiting im starting to look at the costs of having a bar at the reception .. and im wondering .. i am contemplating going with the "your moments" package because i will get that complimentary, and then just do add-ons for the private reception, and extra people, because all the other stuff like getting your hair done, etc. doesn't appeal to me anyways since we are all just going to do each others hair that day.. my question is, im thinking of having a relaxed pool reception, so with that you have to do the buffet, so i am looking and it says for the international private bar it costs $12 per person, per hour!! Thats quite a expensive little bill. . im trying to do this as cost effective as possible .. but looking at spending $3,000 for food and drinks .. when technically that stuff is already included in a your ticket price blows my mind .. does anyone have any suggestions for how they managed to have a cost effective wedding and still have a great time?? Im wondering if it would be more cost effective if we did this: Ceremony at the Fountain @ 4pm Private Dinner at the Carnival Buffet @ 6pm (they will reserve tables for you, just wont be a private dinner) (i think we will have more than 25 people so we have to go to the carnival if that's the case, otherwise you can reserve an a la carte restaurant if its available) Relaxed pool reception from 7-10 with the music and dancing has anyone else just done the non-private dinner and then only did the dancing reception?? any feedback is greatly appreciated

does anyone know if you can pay a $100 deposit just to hold your wedding date and then upgrade to the eternity or divine package at a later date??

@@hardyali thank you for your advice! I know .. we chose south because i wanted a cheaper option because we are having a at home reception next summer .. so thats also going to cost money! EVERYTHING costs money i am learning .. haha .. im just getting stressed because we dont have alot of money on hand right now, we have a private business that brings in some money at christmas so thats what we are counting on using for our trips .. so all these upfront costs are scaring me! I think im going to try to go with the $100 deposit .. im just scared i then wont be able to book a reception, because i really want to have a dance .. i couldnt believe how much it costs to have something at a resort that we are already paying for all these ammenities .. it boggles my mind, anyways, it is what it is i guess! I think your idea sounds really great, I too didnt expect many people to want to attend, and now i have a running list of 39 people .. our deposits are due July7th .. so once that date comes ,i will know how many are actually going to committ. . . so for that reason, until then i wont know what wedding package i want to have ... but im just more concerned about getting in the deposit and making sure i can book my wedding date!! haha My travel agent emailed the resort yesterday with the request form but we still havent heard back. I went to this same resort a few years ago (6) for my sister in laws wedding and it was beautiful. she didnt have a reception, her ceremony was on the beach, then we had a private dinner at i think the french resturant .. and that was it .. after that we all went out to the lounge area and ended up going to bed early, so i dont want that to happen .. i want to have a dance

Hi brides!! We are getting married March 2016... Week of 13-20! Just emailed the resort today for confirmation of our wedding date but I'm hoping for the 16th. Question, in order to book your wedding date did you have to pay a deposit to the hotel? If so, I seen you can put down $100 for a wedding pkg or $500 if you want the larger packages. My question is, I can't afford $500 at the moment so does anyone know if we are able to put down the $100 now and then change our minds later and then give the additional $400??? Just curious ! Thanks

@perianjay .. it is SOOO overwhelming !! I just met with a travel agent yesterday, she sent off some resorts for quotes to her suppliers, now just waiting to hear back! I hope it will be easier to narrow it down based on the rates i get back! and I'm really hoping my dreams aren't crushed by unrealistic expectations for rates!

Thank you!! We are actually going march break!! One of my good friends is a teacher so we have to !! I know it sucks the prices are higher and resorts will be filled with kids probably ... But I have no other choice !

Hi Brides! Just wondering if there are any brides on here currently in the process of deciding on a resort for March 2016? I am having a hard time deciding between Punta Cana, Jamacia, or Cuba!! Anyone have any info on whether they have been given a group rate that matches with my own budget ($1200-$1500pp). I LOVE Now Larimar in Punta Cana, and the Majestic Colonal Punta Cana .. not so struck on any other resorts yet.. any feedback is appreciated :)

HI! Im thinking of getting married in Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica next March (2016) but cant find any reviews on here!!! Anyone have any info about this resort? From what i have read, alot of mixed reviews .. but this seems like a resort that has the best price point.... help !

Hi Everyone! My finance and I just decided we are going to get married down south next March (2016)! I am having a really hard time deciding where to go. My travel agent is currently on vacation herself, and not back until next week, but in the meantime im trying to do as much research as i can myself, but am only getting MORE confused!!! I am wondering .. what resorts in Punta Cana give the best group rates, like, every 9th person you get a free trip, etc. I have a book from Air Canada and it shows two kinds of "freebies" a "free adult" and a "free room(2 adults)" for options .. and i dont know what the difference is!! I am realllly interested in the Majestic Elegance/Colonal but the price is throwing me off as im trying to keep the cost low for my guests. I see on this Air Canada book it says every 16th person booked, you get a free adult. . so thats not bad .. but the Grand Bahia Principe Punta Cana gives you a "free adult" every 11th person that books .. so im leaning toward the GB because we would in the end get more free trips to get the group rate down the lowest possible..... does anyone have any advice as to how to get the best group rate? Do different travel agencies give different rates? We have a Sell off Vacations here, and a Maritime Travel. Thanks so much .. my head has been spinning these last few days!
