@@Kerrierf Congratulations! So glad to hear your wedding went so well! And you looked fantastic too Thanks for the great review! So here come the questions/comments............ 1. It sounds like the food was good, right? Meaning outside of the wedding dinner, at the regular restaurants. I posted a comment earlier this week that someone told me the food was really bad, but I'm glad to hear otherwise from you. 2. Did you and your guests all stay in the Punta Cana section? I've heard this section is older/unrenovated compared to Palace and Bavaro. Would you recommend this section? Is it right on the beach? Any complaints? 3. Did you use a travel agent to book your guests? If so, which one? This question is for @@Meandhim and all the other brides on here too! 4. If you didn't have extras, would there not have been any decor or centrepieces on all the tables at dinner? I'm guessing these come at an extra cost. 5. Another question for all brides, did you ladies send out RSVP cards with your invitations, even though most of your guests would have already booked their trip, so you would already know they were coming? 6. Did you bring decorations for your cake? Or did that all come with it? It's so cute! 7. Maybe you can help answer my question from a previous post. When going through the book of choices with the WC, did it seem that you could have any choice of flowers regardless of the package? i.e., flowers from Ocean Pearl, but everything else from Waves of Love or Pure Paradise. I'm going back and forth with travel agents right now and I feel like all the quotes are coming in above my budget Starting to think my budget is too low (meaning for my guests' trips) Woo! I think that's it for now. ) All answers and comments are greatly appreciated!

Hi all, For those who used/are using a travel agent, what was your timing for sending out save the dates and invitations? i.e., if your agent confirms your rate today, it's good for 3 months. But only now can you send out your save the dates, right? If you send out your invitations a few months later/a few months before your wedding date, then the deadline to book the group rate is pretty much the same time you send out your invitations. Sorry if this sounds confusing, but I'm kind of confused myself! lol Help please!

Hi everyone! So we are officially ENGAGED as of Thursday night!! I am sooo excited that we can finally start booking and confirming our destination wedding! Question: has anyone heard if the food at the resort (meals for the duration of the trip, not for the wedding dinner) is any good? I recently heard that it's not? I feel like you can't be that picky in the Caribbean unless you are at an expensive 5* resort..

@@Meandhim it seems like that's the only company that does it, eh? The cheapest bottle is $6. I'm wondering if the vendors there sell them for less or if Carolina has any connections? @@shevette925 have u set up a wedding website? That would be a great place to give your guests an itinerary beforehand and also give updates for other info about their trip like hotel rates, travel agent info, brunch/dinner, etc.

@@Kerrierf Happy wedding day!! i hope it went perfectly! you're officially a Mrs! @@shevette925 i agree with the others. i think there is a limit to the amount of alcohol u can bring in. @@Meandhim can u please post the link to the site that you saw that has small bottles of rum? i've seen dominican favors. is that the one you were talking about too?

@@Kerrierf so exciting! can't wait to see pics of your wedding! I'm sure either hairstyle will look great. and you can still incorporate your flower clip even with your hair down The Waves of Love pkg looks great! but again i would want the pink flowers, etc from the Ocean Pearl pkg. I guess we'll see how much choice is offered. i can't wait to hear how the beach bash goes too. it sounds like so much fun!

@@Meandhim awesome thanks! $1500 is good for that time! Although I'm hoping to get a bit of a lower rate, but we shall see. That's awesome that you guys are free and bonus for your photog being free, as opposed to having to pay for them to stay the week!

@@Kerrierf Good to know! @@Meandhim you bring up some very good points.. thanks! I'm thinking first week of Dec so we shall see. More questions.. How much did all of your guests pay? Did you use a travel agent? Did they get a group discount that was less than if they all just booked online themselves? Re: the wedding packages - after reading a lot of posts, it appears that upon meeting with the WC, she shows you a whole book of flowers. Does this mean you can get any package with any flowers? I ask because what drew me to the Ocean Pearl pkg was the bridal bouquet and ceremony decorations. However, I'm not fond of the price, and there are not many differences between that pkg and the Pure Paradise package, yet there is an $800 difference. Thanks!!

@@Kerrierf @@Meandhim Wow guys, thanks for all the info! Definitely something to think about considering the cost... Another question, I have read the 2013, 2014, and 2015 threads for this resort. Is any one time of year better or more recommended than others? We are thinking December of this year, but I see that April/May has been a very popular time to get married in the DR. Is this due to weather? Price?

Hi @@Kerrierf that's good to know! I just got a copy of my short one (lost the original.. oops!) a month ago, then read online that I would actually need the LONG one! Glad I asked before ordering it! Thanks! Are you in Toronto? I know the DR consulate is downtown, not sure where there are others? I also found the DRSI which is north of the city - wondering if they are any cheaper yet still legit? How much did it cost to do it all at the embassy, if you don't mind my asking? @@Meandhim Thanks for that! I know the symbolic ceremony is a great option, I just can't help but be swayed to do it legally in the DR though.. even though it is more expensive.

Hi 2015 GPPC brides! Question for those who got (or are getting) married with a legal ceremony in the DR. For the legal documents that you need to have translated into Spanish and bring with you to the DR, was the short form birth certificate the correct one or did you need to have a long form one? Just trying to get all my docs in order beforehand. Thanks! JC
