    @@ebernard4985 these are on my inspiration board on pinterest as well! ok so i went to michaels last night and bought everything. are you in the US? i'm in Canada and the prices for everything were much more. but they will still be cheaper than paying the resort PLUS i had a 30% off coupon which was huge for savings. i realized when i got home that i had accidentally picked up 2 different kinds of orchids. one is like a filk silk and the other is waxy/plasticy. which did you use?? i will return the wrong one. thanks for your advice!!

    @@shevette925 Yes I'm going to ask Carolina about doing that! Has anyone booked a room for a night for a vendor? Also, has anyone booked or used an extra room for their groom to spend the night, since it's tradition for the bride and groom not to spend the night before their wedding together? (not sure if we will go with this tradition - but it has crossed my mind) Also, another thing has been checked off my list. I've booked HDC as our photographer and I'm super excited about it! What should I do next??

    @@shevette925 Nice! we will be going with the contemporary ceremony - no sand ceremony either! it's not our thing. i think we will be keeping it more or less the same as i think it already sounds great! mayeb u could have friends or family do the readings? yea i have a feeling you're right. if that's the case, i'll prob go with the ocean pearl pkg. omg seriously? i thought it was like $150? is it possible to use a day pass instead?

    OH also, for an outside photographer, what is the vendor fee? could i get them a day pass instead if it's cheaper?

    @@Kerrierf thanks!! re: the restaurant, i was asking about the next one for the reception dinner in terms of atmosphere, etc. the chocolate cake sounds really good! i wonder if they can do half and half.. @@Meandhim we are doing symbolic too. Carolina def does it for free, but i just like the "officalness" that the pastor adds.. we are not religious either, but as you can see he can alter the ceremony to your liking For the DJ, i'm assuming he started at 8ish, so if we want music at dinner that would be extra $. i'm thinking of just bringing and playing our own music for dinner. for the pkg i'm thinking either waves of love or ocean pearl, dependent on if i can make changes to the flowers. it doesn't look like there are renewal pkgs anymore, so lucky you booked it when u did! does anyone know what the decor is on the head table? @@shevette925 thanks for sending! which one are you going with? r u doing a sand ceremony? are u making changes to the wording?

    Hi All! Questions: - does the private dinner become mandatory depending on how many guests you have? i.e., if i choose semi-private, but i have enough guests to fill a restaurant, does it become private by default? - which restaurant is the best for the dinner reception? Bohio? - i've heard of HDC and Caribbean Emotions. any other photographer recommendations? - is DJ Mannia the resort dj? - what are the best meal choices? i read it a while back in the 300 page GPPC thread, but I can't remember. is it onion soup or caesar salad, beef medallions, and brownie? - can someone please confirm again the reception decorations that are there for free? candles? flowers? chair covers? - i read a while back that Carolina does an itinerary for when your guests arrive, and also menu cards for your reception tables. is this still true? does she do table numbers as well? - for the symbolic ceremony, do u still have witnesses like u would at the legal ceremony? do they give you all someething to sign so it looks/feels like the legal ceremony?     @@Kerrierf Nice! Yea I wish I could have done that but we just got engaged 2 weeks ago, so it just couldn't really work out timing wise with getting all the quotes from the TAs. I'm happy I got it out one way or another though! I think Booking my venue, wedding date, officiant, confirmed guestlist, engagement photos done, and getting my STD emails out all in less than 2 weeks is a pretty big achievement lol. So I'm ready for whatever comes next now!

    Ok ladies.... So our wedding date and Pastor Mark have officially been confirmed by Carolina today! The ball is rolling! Because we are working with such a tight deadline, esp. for our guests to book within the next couple mths, I had no choice but to send out a STD email with all the travel agent and booking info. There just wasn't enough time for me to order STD, wait for them to be delivered, then send them via snail mail. That would have taken away 2 weeks from our guests within their timeline to book so I made an executive decision to send out a nice email instead. It's not as pretty and personal as I would have liked, but I'll get over it. And I still plan on sending out formal invitations in any case. Now I hold my breath and wait to see who and how many people book their trip!!

    @Kerrierf @@samilein thanks both for your responses! @@samilein did Carolina tell you to book directly with Pastor Rick? Or did you just go ahead with that on your own? Did you pay Pastor Mark CAD as well or USD? Carolina had sent me the fee of $450US for a Pastor. Then I heard from Pastor Rick this weekend who said the fee is $400US. So now I'm not sure how to go about this? I would like to pay as little as possible, which would be $400CAD. Any advice here??

    @@jenna32schap yes! love these! did you buy from dollartree online? I'm guessing you are in the US.. I'm in Canada. sounds like i will need to hit a few stores. did u find the decals easy to put on straight, on the same spot on each cup, etc?

To all brides who had/are having a symbolic ceremony and are using Pastor Rick or Mark: - did you book and pay through Carolina? or through the pastor? - how much did you pay? - did you have communication with the pastor prior to your trip, or only on the day of your wedding? - is there a vendor fee for using a pastor? The reason I ask is because I have heard 2 different prices now, so I want to make sure I'm not overpaying. Asking this again in case it got missed.. I'm filling out the credit card authorization form and the wedding agreement form to send to Carolina once I'm back at work tomorrow. - on the credit card form, is the booking or confirmation number the one from our TA once she books our trip? - on the wedding agreement form, we haven't decided on the wedding package yet, nor do we have a confirmed number of guests (obviously). Did everyone just put an estimate in there? Thanks!

I think i will only need 2 bouquets and 2 boutonnieres, at $30 and $12 each, respectively. do you mind letting me know how much yours costed? thanks! @@Kerrierf also wanted to ask about your flowers from etsy. were they cheaper than the ones from the resort? thanks!

    Hi again! I'm full of questions.. they never end! This one is an admin question: I'm filling out the credit card authorization form and the wedding agreement form to send to Carolina once I'm back at work on Tuesday (darn long weekend!). - on the credit card form, is the booking or confirmation number the one from our TA once she books our trip? - on the wedding agreement form, is the contact and email address mine?? Or our WC? (dumb question) Also, we haven't decided on the wedding package yet, nor do we have a confirmed number of guests (obviously). Did everyone just put an estimate in there? Thanks!

    Hi ladies! I just gave my TA the go-ahead to book our trip! Yayyy! Exciting and scary lol @@Kerrierf That's great! Doesn't sound like you missed the music Did you do a welcome dinner or drinks? Did you do any excursions with your group? Also, I don't think I asked you already, but I had posted while you were away: when the WC showed you the flowers, decor, etc. Could you choose any flowers you wanted? Or did it have to be the ones that are included (as per the website). What I would like to do is go with the Waves of Love pkg, but get the pink flowers and decor from Ocean Pearl. I don't need the extras that come with that pkg. Sorry if I asked this already - my brain has been all over the place since I got engaged last week!

    Thanks again ladies for your answers! @@Kerrierf for your dinner on the beach, or even a private dinner in the restaurant, was there a sound system? I'm thinking of playing my own music for the dinner and having the DJ for the beach bash. Were your dinner and bash at the exact same spot on the beach? what the dinner a buffet? What photographer did you use?

I'm not sure if you still check this board, but I'm considering DPC for our Dec wedding and have some questions: - did your ceremony and reception decor look like the photos on the Dreams website in the online gallery?? - did you have a DJ for music or did you play from an iPod? - we might have as many as 60 guests. how much extra was it per guest for dinner, cake, sparkling wine, etc? Since it only includes 20 ppl - how was the beach? i know it's not on Bavaro so I'm wondering if it's nice white sand, not rocky, etc. Thanks!

    I have more questions for everyone.. sorry! 1. Is anyone staying in the Bavaro or Palace, or stayed there in the past? Thoughts and comments on them? 2. For those doing the symbolic ceremony (would you believe I'm back on the fence about this?), did you do the legal part at home BEFORE or AFTER your DR wedding? I'm considering maybe doing it after. But do you need to bring your marriage license with you? Thanks!!
