  1. @@Mangosong I wanted mine to be sent out a year in advance but I had a couple issues come up so things got a little delayed. But from what I have read 9-12 months in advance is fine to send out the STDs for a destination wedding. Reading that made me feel so much better.
  2. Hi @@Mangosong! I'm a 2017 bride! My wedding is on April 23. I'll be getting married at the Hyatt Ziva in Montego Bay, Jamaica. So far most everything has been booked. I have paid for the room block, booked my photographer, and my travel agent is currently working on our site for our guests book their rooms, our wedding website is pretty much done, just waiting on the room block site to be live so I can add that link to it. I am in the process of working on my save the dates, I hope to get them out within the next 2-3 weeks.
  3. @@drmariner it looks great! I'm thinking about doing mine myself too, thanks so much for the info!
  4. @@NixSpade Hi! Just wondering how your planning has been going? I just booked my wedding here and have had several issues thus far. Have you had any problems? Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you!
  5. @@SunshineDreamKay that's so good to hear! I set up an appointment for her to try it on to see how she feels and looks in it! Hopefully it will work as well as it did for your bridesmaid!
  6. @@Laur114 Yeah, one of my girls is a DD too and I would hate for her to be uncomfortable and I don't want her or anyone else to look bad. I will definitely check out your recommendations because I want them to choose what they want style wise but with the same fabric. Thank you!
  7. @@calgarybride2015 it doesn't seem like it can have a bra built into it. I think wearing a bra with it is possible depending on the way its tied.
  8. I had my heart set on having my bridesmaids in convertible dresses so that they can tailor the dress to their own personal style and body type. However, I was reading some of the older forums and a couple of the former brides said that convertible dresses are a bad idea for women with a D cup or larger bust. I honestly thought it would be okay but I guess I could be wrong. Out of my 7 bridesmaids, 4 of them have size D or larger cup size, I would hate for them to be uncomfortable. Have any of you come across this as a problem with your bridesmaids? Thanks in advance for your help. This is an example of the type of dress that I am referring to: http://www.nuovavita.com/signature-cocktail-convertible-dress-avail-in-over-20-colors/
  9. @@ashhtayy since the booking deadline wasn't on the STD did you feel rushed to send out your invites? I was considering waiting and putting it on the invite but your advice makes a lot of sense. Thanks!
  10. @@jjbrown Another note about Julienne, while I was there I asked if they do airbrush makeup in the spa and she said yes. However, during my makeup trial I was told that was not the case. I was pretty frustrated about that.
  11. Hi @@jjbrown, So my travel agent said the DJ, band ect. are without tax. I haven't yet received the prices for any extras so I'm not sure about that yet, let me know what your coordinator says. As far as the chairs, if I do chivary then I'll probably just go through the resort because I'm already paying a vendor fee for the photographer and possibly for hair and make up too. So unless I find a vendor that will be cheaper than the Hyatt even with the vendor fee included I'll probably just go with the Hyatt. And even though I love the chivary chairs, I keep going back and forth because I saw a picture of a wedding there and they used the standard chairs with chair ties and it looked beautiful so I may end up doing that, not sure yet though. I totally agree with you about Julianne, although she was very nice at my site visit, there was something about her that rubbed me the wrong way at times during our meeting, and I'm still waiting for her to respond to an e-mail I sent her last week. I think she forwarded it to Karen the wedding sales manager though and thankfully, she has been pretty responsive so far.
  12. @@cksk2016 if you're getting airbrush makeup you can definitely get the vendor fee waived because that is something that they do not provide. I just did a site visit at RWS and the wedding coordinator said since they don't have airbrush in their salon then the fee will be waived. As far as the photographer, I don't think there is a way around that, probably only if they are staying at the resort. But like@@ashhtayy said, maybe you can see if they can do a day pass because charging an off site fee for a wedding that isn't being done there is pretty crazy. Does your venue maybe have a space that you can get ready so you don't have to worry about the extra fees?
  13. Your dress is gorgeous! this is why they tell brides to try on things they are unsure about. You look fabulous! And I love your MOHs dress too, the color is beautiful.
  14. Any past Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall brides? I just booked and would love to know your experience from beginning to end. We did a site visit last weekend and we fell in love with it! I am still waiting for the wedding coordinator to get back to me on how much the extras cost. How was their response time to you throughout the process? Thanks in advance!
  15. @@Lisa35 Oh man that sucks! What if you bring your own decor? Is it the same issue?
  16. @@MarieSamSanchezPhoto LOL! Thank you! I think I will
  17. @@calgarybride2015 Thank you! You're right! And knowing the type of person she is, she probably wouldn't even care.
  18. Hi guys, I need to ask your help on this. I have been planning on using a passport template for my save the dates, and I pretty much had every detail planned for them. In the mail today I get my friend's wedding invitation and guess what her invitation is?? A passport! She's not having a destination wedding but the theme of her wedding is "around the world". Now I feel like I can't do the passport any more because of this. The template I was planning on using does look much different from hers (in case that matters). I have heard a few different opinions on what I should do so I'm torn. Should I come up with something else or should I go with my original plan? I still want to do boarding passes for my invite so using that as a save the date is not an option. I'm open to any suggestions and opinions. What would you do?? Thanks in advance! -Tiffany
  19. @@Lisa35 Really? Is it because you would be using chairs from an outside vendor that the resort offers? I just did a site visit last week and with something like makeup for instance, since I want to do airbrush they would waive the vendor fee since that's something they do not offer.
  20. Hi! @@FutureMrsThorpe Is the resort charging you an outside vendor fee for the chairs?
  21. Hi @@jjbrown, I just got back from the site visit and it was wonderful. I do have a question for you though, were the prices quoted inclusive or exclusive of taxes? The wedding coordinator, Julianne said that the price of the MC she quite us did not include the 16.5% tax and I didn't think about it until later, but what about all the other charges, are they wi or without tax?
  22. @@WPGBride17 Thanks for sharing your story! I can't wit to read more about your plans!
  23. We are getting married in Jamaica and will probably switch resorts for a few days. Then we're planning on spending a week in Bali or Bora Bora at a later date.
  24. Yeah, I think I'm going to have to try to do them myself with the template since I'm sending out so many...The list keeps growing when I need it to get smaller
