  1. But you'll probably have an aisle runner so you won't have to walk on the sand for long.
  2. Got these today, thanks again! Where did you get the badge holders? Trying to find a good source now.
  3. Should I be booking my photographer yet? I hadn't put much thought in to it. I'm going to go with the basic Adventure Photos package.
  4. I wish the Edit function worked longer than it does so I could cut out my excessive wordiness. LOL! I called back and she said they can omit the part in the ceremony with the rings, so we don't have to have them at that time.
  5. Taken! Ugh. I booked the 19th, but now I'm hoping for October 12th. But that's Thanksgiving. I have to go in to give a cash deposit, I'll ask if they'll do that day when I go in person EDIT: I called the Toronto City Hall and they said they could do a quickie "fit in" session for us, since all we want is a legal jobby. Otherwise I can go to the York Civic Centre on the 12th as well. We don't have RINGS though... is this a problem? I called the place where he got my ring. It's from People's Jewellers, but from their travelling "design your own" event. So we can't just walk in whenever I want to and get the matching band. They alternate between a "Signature" event and the "Design Your Own" event every other month or so. The next Design Your Own is September 22nd. Which made me want to move the date to October 12th. But then Thanksgiving. UGH! LOL. Does the ring even matter if it's not the ceremony with vows etc?
  6. So these legal ceremonies don't really seem to operate how I imagined. Sean and I thought we'd just walk up to a counter at City Hall, have a couple of witnesses, sign some papers, walk out legally married. Turns out that's not the case (for any of you who haven't looked in to/experienced this yet). We got the license and that was easy enough (except the part where she made us put our Starbucks off to the side... we both kept looking at our coffees longingly at the end of the counter). But then she hands us a pamphlet for some heritage house place and says we can do it there, or at a similar place downtown. It's not expensive, $220. She said to go take a look because some people don't like the décor. We laughed and told her how little we cared for that. So I just tried to call this Heritage House, and this ancient man answered the phone and gave me this long and cranky explanation of why I would have to call him back. So that's where we're at now. I'm aiming for September 12th. (Matching date of the month to the Symbolic wedding to make things easier to remember). We don't have rings or anything though! I asked Sean if he would want to invite his parents and he said "nah." So it's probably going to be just us and a couple we asked to be our witnesses wearing nothing spectacular. Maybe I'll buy a little dress that I can also wear on vacation.
  7. Last trip (June) I actually did really well. I didn't burn for a change. I did tan. I think I will invest in a hat though. I'm thinking of doing my own makeup and that's not going to work out if none of my foundation etc matches my complexion.
  8. 13 in three months is totally doable! You got this! Me, I'm hoping I can reach my longtime goal of 135. I think I can stand to lose even more than that.
  9. I was thinking about the recent thread regarding which day of the week to have the wedding on. I didn't have much choice (to get the palapa) and it's later in the week than I would like. What I'm worried about is my SKIN! I'm going to have to lay down some serious SPF to keep myself looking good for my pictures. Normally I accidentally burn at least once early on and I'm PEELING and looking generally gross by about the time I'll be walking down the aisle.
  10. Set up, not decor. I remember her saying something about a ushape, or round tables etc. I drew a map! As mentioned in my disclaimer - the proportions are probably way off cuz it's from memory. In fact I know the chapel and palapa are closer together than I implied. I can't recall just how close the disco is. It's close enough for convenience but far away enough for privacy.
  11. I mean.... it's on my phone. And don't get me wrong, I went from 179 to 139. But I'm back up to about 147 and not feeling very motivated. You would think I would feel MORE motivated with our date booked etc. Sigh. I'm trying to recapture that mindset I felt when I first started out. It seems to be eluding me.
  12. With our dollar the way it is I have been converting EVERYTHING from peso or USD to the current Canadian dollar. So I don't get lulled in to thinking "gee that's not bad" and then getting sticker shock later when I have to pay.
  13. There is no way I'm paying $2000 for photography! Where did you get the price list? I'm wondering now if mine is out of date. We're intending on getting the basics and then having photography skilled family and friends handle the rest.
  14. I'm going off memory because I'm not even at the risk of reaching 100, personally. Your pictures looked cozy enough at 45.
  15. Does anyone have the options for table layouts? Adriana mentioned it in person and said I would get the choices sent to me later if I booked.
  16. The palapa is large. The minimum is 30 people, but at the other end I think the maximum capacity is 200(?) When it was empty I remember finding the size of it rather intimidating. I would concentrate on the number of tables you will have and then create centre pieces for each. You won't need more than that. Like everyone says it's gorgeous. Maybe I will draw a birdseye map of how I mentally recall the area.
  17. @@yycbride2016 Excited for you! And for me! So I asked Adriana about changing the colours of the lighting and I don't think she understood my question. She responded that the white fabrics are included and others would be extra. I reworded, we'll see what she says.
  18. I added you with a message! And yes, I'm thinking just the posts to possibly purple. Actually I think I'll ask Adriana.
  19. Ya those are on the add on list. I wonder if I could ask them to change the lighting colour without incurring extra cost.
  20. I think we'll probably end up with maybe 45? Totally guessing. I'm going to add some tiki torches and lanterns for sure. Photography probably pretty basic. I was wondering, how do they set up lighting inside the palapa?
