Well our wedding has taken a complete unexpected 180... My FI and I have decided to elope and get married on a Beach and explore the Beautiful islands of Thailand! There were so many things working against our wedding in Mexico. It was becoming a huge stress, not only to us, but to our friends and families. My 3 year old nephew was just diagnosed with Leukemia, so we just didn't feel right about planning a joyous event. Not to mention, I couldn't get married without my sister and her kids there. We were hearing complaints from people and we just knew it was causing a lot of problems for some people. Our departure date was changed on us, which changed our wedding date (after we already sent out our invitations).. so frustrating. So, the other day we got talking and decided to go on a month long excursion to South East Asia and get married in Thailand while we are there! We are both so relieved and excited by this decision!! We plan on going this November. Neither of us have been to this area of the world, so this will be such a romantic and exotic adventure! We plan on having a small AHR when we return and show everyone a slideshow of our trip! I only have 5 months to research and plan this trip, so if anyone has been to Thailand, I would love any information and recommendations to a romantic, secluded, beautiful area where we can have our intimate ceremony. Typically all we need is a photographer, flowers, a nice resort to stay for 3 nights with a salon for hair/makeup, someone to marry us, and a small boat so we can explore. This is the most excited I have felt about the planning process, so I know we made the right choice

Hello! I am a Riu Santa Fe bride too! We are getting married on Feb. 1, 2016. We are flying our own photographer down and having our ceremony on the beach. My bridesmaids and I are getting our hair and makeup done by Suzanne morel (they have a great reputation in Cabo!). As for the reception, we have not decided yet.. I'm confused about what to do as we want private but I don't want to pay an arm and a leg! We were interested in the English patio for a private reception by they require you to pay 13$ per person for open bar, at least 36$ a person for dinner, and 600$ to rent out the space. That just seems a bit much when we can get it for free at the Steakhouse (which I hear is a quite private anyways and has a great view and atmosphere). The only thing with the steakhouse is they do not allow dancing or microphones for speeches so we would have to move the reception elsewhere after dinner. An option is to rent out the disco, but I am not really interested in that either as I hear it smells like puke and booze! I would love to hear your ideas too!

Hello again!! I want to thank you all again for giving me such great feedback on the dresses... I finally made a decision and ordered dress number one last night (the one with the frilly skirt)! It really helped going back to the store and trying them both on with all my accessories and hair all done! I'm so relieved that I can finally check this off my to do list! Its going to be a long few months waiting for it to come in though.

I love your dress! great choice I contemplated getting a short one too. You will be so comfortable and not have to worry about being a sweaty mess! I chose a long dress with a lot of material and I'm afraid im going to sweat buckets! Great shoes too!

Thanks ladies! I appreciate the Input from all of you! There seems to be a pretty even split between the two dresses.. Even from my friends! I'm going to go back with my mum and another couple friends and try them both on with the veil, bouquet, hair done and jewelry! Hopefully this will help be visualize and come to a decision! Thanks again for all of your thoughts! Xo

Hello Brides!! I am terrible at making decisions which has made it extremely difficult for me to choose a dress and I only have 9 months until my wedding day. I have narrowed it down to two dresses, but am having a tough time picking one as I love them both . I am leaning towards the dress with the fuller ruffled skirt as I think it will look beautiful on the beach and I love the lace detailing. But, I love the other one too. I think it may be more flattering on me the material is much lighter which will be more comfortable in the heat. I am wondering if it is too plain for my personality though. I have asked a few friends and they all have different opinions which makes it even harder! I would love some input and any advice you may have so I can make a decision soon!! Thanks so much The pictures are so small and I don't know how to make them larger ?!

Hello fellow Cabo brides!! I am looking at booking an boat cruise excursion for my guests (about 50 people). Does anyone have any recommendations for good company? I want to book something but would like to get some feedback first on which ones are the best around Cabo!!! Thanks so much

Hello! you have come to the right place!! I was very overwhelmed with choosing a resort as well. We knew we wanted to go to Mexico from the moment we got engaged. We looked at trip advisor and spoke with a few different travel agents. I made a list of what was really important to us and narrowed it down from there. We had a budget of 1500$ per person and wanted to go to the Caribbean side of Mexico in January. We quickly realized this wasn't possible with our budget. That left us with either Cabo or PV. We ended up choosing Los Cabos because it is so beautiful and we have both been to PV so wanted to pick somewhere new. We also chose a resort that had great wedding reviews, reputation, and where kids stay free as I have a lot of friends/family bringing there kids. Try narrowing down the time of year and location first and make a list of what you want in a resort. Then read some reviews on this site and connect with a TA. I know how you are feeling cuz I was there not too long ago! I spent 3 months going back and forth and contacted multiple tour operators and TA's for information and quotes. I feel like picking the resort is the toughest part.I hope this helps you out...Good luck and happy planning!

So sorry for your loss What a difficult time this must be for you and your family. I say give it some time and let your uncle grieve before discussing your wedding with him. Do you know if he is getting bereavement counselling? It sounds like this was very unexpected and he would benefit from a lot of support from family and friends. I am sure that is probably all taken care of already. If it were me, I would give it a couple of months and then speak with him in person about your wedding. Does he have a family member that could travel with him and share a room with him? Maybe speak with other members of your family who are close with him when the time is right. I can't imagine what your are all going through, stay strong....and hugs to you
