@@LaurenC3432 we ordered our BM dresses for my best friends wedding and they came in a month before they were supposed to. This was in 2015. Although our experience buying them was a complete disaster (terrible store staff - ON brides don't go to the Scarborough David's Bridal) the pick up was smooth, all dresses were in perfect condition and, like I said, they were earlier than we expected.

@@Shaylala where are you traveling from? I was having the same troubles in the beginning. I wanted to be married in March or April of 2016 and the rates were astronomical, especially for our guests travelling from BC. Although I really didn't want to wait until June, it was the best rate we could find that we thought our guests would actually pay. We're looking at $1620 from TO and $1835 from BC to Riviera Maya.

I kind of wish I read this thread before I bought everything for my bridesmaid proposal boxes. I can't imagine not having a bridal party but I do worry that 6 girls + me will be very pricey. All 6 are 100% coming and because of the cost of the trip I've told my FI we have to pay for their dresses, shoes and jewelry. I will likely have to leave hair and makeup up to them because we can't afford that added expense. I've been in three of my BMs weddings (or will have been come my wedding) and paid for my hair, makeup, and dress each time. My FI thinks it's crazy that as a member of the bridal party I paid for my own things. Because of that he thinks they should pay for these expenses at our wedding. I keep stressing the fact that they are paying to get to Mexico, but he argues it's a vacation for them. Any thoughts on how I can convince him that this is a non-negotiable? He's from BC and according to him it's unheard of for the bridal party to pay for anything aside from a generous gift and an amazing bachelor party. Whenever I've been asked to be in one of my girls bridal parties, it's an expense I expect and agree to when I said yes.

@@acastello2 I'm not sure I will be much help but I'd love to try and answer your questions. 1. We and our guests are booking hotel + airfare all together. All guests will be getting the GI experience. Are you in the US? This likely will work differently for you. We are paying $1620 from Toronto for a deluxe room based on double occupancy (includes flight, hotel, all inclusive). 2. There is an extra fee of $1700 to use the sky terrace. No charge for garden, etc. In Canada we have to pay $950 for the basic wedding package (if you're in the US this is free). You can choose whatever decor package you want and that can be used at the location of your choice. 3. The booking process has been a breeze but likely only because our TA has done it all. I have had zero contact at this point with the resort itself. Last Wednesday I was first assigned my own WC. I've read they can be quite difficult to deal with because they take a long time to get back to you BUT that is because they are extremely overworked in most situations. 4. We are inviting 175 but there are a lot of courtesy invites there. We expect to realistically have 50-60 people attend. Our STDs are going out this week. Pic we can keep out costs to $10000 we will be VERY pleased. I am not sure that will be possible. My FI and I had the hardest time picking a resort. We ended up making a list of our top 3 must haves and we ended up with Azul Fives. Our guests get SO excited when we show them the resort. Other AF Brides - i think I answered everything correctly but please feel free to correct me! Hope this helps!

@@GlenRosa90 I've thought about them...still not sure if we will do it though. I have in my mind i'd rather do tank tops for everyone. What are you thinking?

Dress Advice

@@GingerBride beautiful dress! it looks great on you. love the belt - it sits perfectly. I'm not a bling girl and to me this would be the perfect amount. congrats on saying yes! -
My FI has also said "it's my wedding too!" I have to be careful because a few times he's fired back with "but you're going to make the final decision anyways so do what you please." Sometimes it is frustrating when I have done tons of research on something and am ready to commit and have to explain my reasoning to him. He asks questions that frustrate me and leave me feeling like "did you really think after all the research I didn't look into that?" After a few bumps in the road I've realized I need to bring him into the loop earlier on so that he feels he is involved. I want him to be involved, so it's only fair we talk each (most) items through. In life I try and do everything on my own - Ms. Independent as my father and FI say. This process is huge and I'm slowly realizing that I will need help. He's willing to help (with the fun tasks) so I'm learning to take a slightly hands off approach (which is really hard for me). Just last night I was wrapping these cute mason jar candles for my bridesmaid boxes and I was struggling to peel the price stickers off. He said let me try and got the stickers off in a quarter of the time I did. Why havent I asked for his help every Christmas when wrapping presents? It was a sign last night that I'm lucky to have him by my side, even for the silly things like removing price tickets. If he went ahead and made big decisions without me I would be upset, I'm doing all I can to involve him with everything go forward because like he says "it's his wedding too!"

@@snswedding2016 I would love your etsy sellers contact information. not sure I can fit them into my vision perfectly but my best friend is getting married this summer and is using old novels within her centrepieces and has purchased novel page confetti. I think these would look amazing on her tables as well. Thanks in advance!

@@calgarybride2015 thanks! My mum found the lady on etsy but she went and met her to pick up and pay for the hanger to avoid shipping charges. I told her she needs to teach me her etsy ways because I bought two of my gf's hangers and paid more in shipping than I did for the hangers lol- 52 replies
