  1. @perianjay @deecol @Wafflesmom as always, thank you for the support!! You're right, our final payment deadline is March 28th. We had four people back out this week for totally understandable reasons. I know my parents are pretty bummed because they were so excited to spend that time with my out-of-town aunts and uncles. They've planned to come down and stay with my parents for a weekend before the wedding so we can see them so that will be a nice alternative Right now we are sitting at 56 booked and 4 others that have requested rates. We know there is a strong likelihood that 2 people that have made their deposits will likely cancel. Of the 56 guests 6 are 4-day, the others are 7-day. We're happy with our numbers so far. I had a call with the wedding designer today and things are moving forward nicely. I'll post an update soon.
  2. 5 months today until our Mexico wedding. AHH! So many emotions. So excited for the wedding week, so nervous for the planning that is yet to be done, terrified that dress fittings start in two short months, nervous about full payment deadline...the list could go on and on. Thanks to all of you for your support thus far. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing here on out!
  3. @@Wafflesmom I was in Orillia today (1.5 hours north of Toronto) for work and drove right by a Michael's. Popped in and of coarse this small town had soooo many marquee M's. I bit the bullet and bought with a 20% off coupon. Holding out for my A during next weeks 50%. Woohoo! lol
  4. @@deecol looks great! I think you should put yours on too and play pretend married for the rest of the night. Do it.
  5. @@snswedding2016 Wishing you the most fantastic vacation and wedding week ever. I hope it's better than what you imagined and that everything works out better than you could have planned for. Safe flight. Party hard. Enjoy every minute of it!

    Azul Fives

@@Deannak Hi!! You can find some reviews if you search for Azul Fives. In August @@TinkerSofi got married at AF - search her and you can read her thread and review. @@snswedding2016 is getting married there on the 9th - you can find her thread on here and her review from the Brides Dress Rehersal. Good luck!
  7. @@deecol I thought the same thing - wasn't it @@Wafflesmom who said she wasn't creative? Yeah, right! Look at you go!
  8. @@Jennal412 people were confused by our save the dates and didn't go on our website to read the details about booking. In hindsight I wish we completely customized our save the dates and wrote all the details in one place. People that haven't attended a destination wedding don't necessarily realize you need to book so far out. If I were to do it again I would use a site like paperless post so that I could track responses. Even as our booking deadline came closer and closer I sent emails but some people are just bad on email. Email is my life and how I work so I never miss one but this experience has taught me that not everyone functions that way. Becusse I don't have Facebook myself and a lot of guests don't use it as much as they once did I would use paperless post (or a similar site) if I were to go back in time
  9. @@Wafflesmom looks like everything is coming together! Der's tie and pocket square look great. Is your best man and ring bearer wearing the exact same colour? Sorry if I missed this. Where did you order from? Your marquee letters look perfect. I like the contrast of the two different papers together. Can't wait to see the pics of them lit up on your wedding day. The first paper I used was just a scrapbooking paper and the second was a card stock. Since I only used a hole punch I struggled to get the bulbs through. I'm hoping the struggle was because my arms were so sore from the gym and that I'm not really that weak lol Play list for getting ready! Wouldn't have thought of that and SO necessary. Thanks for the heads up. We always listen to 'Girls Be Pre-Gaming' on Songza when we're getting ready but looks like Songza will be gone soon so I should start downloading some of those songs. Congrats on being 90% done. That must be a great feeling! Exciting news about your photographer and his assistant. I think you'll be so glad you extended by an hour. The more pictures to choose from the better
  10. Lets through @@deecol 's proposed date out there - does Friday January 29th work? @Meandhim @perianjay
  11. Hi Ladies - Any idea when everyone is free for the next GTA meet up? I REALLY want to come and am hoping we can plan a date far in advance so that everyone can make it. Tagging everyone that has posted recently: @acw271011 @Meandhim @perianjay @deecol @snswedding2016 @krystalball @diadiamond **Tagging you isn't working - hoping you all see this
  12. @@deecol I always try and limit my search to Canadian Etsy vendors to save on shipping. There are a few different ones that this shop makes - a few with hearts that you can customize with your names? Might match your table numbers well? Take a peak. They had a few others that I liked better, like one that just said 'love' but Mike likes the idea that I am taking his name so he wanted it on the cake topper If you like one from this shop wait and I can let you know how happy I am with ours lol
  13. Cake & Cake Topper Ordered! (sort-of) Okay so I really wasn't on board for a cake, mainly because of the cost ($60USD for 6 people - $870USD for 60 people). I had thought about doing cupcakes but that was until I saw the cost - $7USD each. As a wedding guest I never eat the wedding cake and rarely do I eat a cupcake if they are there; Mike's the same. I nibble on the dessert that comes with our meal and that is that. I mentioned to Nonna that we weren't going to have a cake. She was less than impressed. Here is our compromise - we've ordered the smallest cake the resort offers (16cm length, 10cm height). Obviously this won't feed many but it is more for show and to have the traditional 'cake cutting'. The flavours are limited because of the size of the teeny, tiny cake but we have to pick from vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. I will pick chocolate, Mike will pick vanilla. He will win on this one. The dessert that all our guests will be served with our dinner is tiramisu (EW! I think I am the only person that HATES it), panna cotta and fruit tartlet. I found this adorable cake topper on etsy (BashandCoParty). Here is the image they have on their site (obviously this will be customized with our last name). $19.99 for a 6 inch cake copper in gold glitter - shipping is $8.00 - total $27.99CAD Excited to receive the cake topper
  14. Update: We didn't make our 7:30AM gym session OMG. I was talking to my mum last night and she said "yeah, right - remember you're not a morning person". Well she was right. Mostly because we can't get on a good sleep routine. Last time I looked at the clock was 4AM. Time to crack open the melatonin at night. These past two weeks have had us up late and sleeping in. It's hard to get back on schedule (I'm sure there are lots of us struggling with this). I will go to the gym tonight. 100%. I promise (you and myself lol). @@Wafflesmom your bootcamp instructor sounds like an all-star! what a great person to have in your corner. @@vancouverpetunia thanks for the welcome back. when i figure out how to add someone, I will add you! @@yycbride2016 thanks for saying I have time still lol I needed to hear that!
  15. @@Wafflesmom Oh you better believe I will be writing a full review. I don't want anyone to have to go through the unnecessary stress. If any brides worry that you're dealing with her too, feel free to private message me and I will confirm. I'd rather leave her name off the threads until we are past our wedding. And thank you so much for the offer. We still have enough time that I'm not worried about waiting a little bit. I'm all over the GTA for work so I'm bound to find one somewhere other than our local store @@deecol hrmm? You raise a good point. I've never asked if they have the ability to do that. When the coupon comes out next Sunday and I'm in the store I'll check. @@vancouverpetunia both are cute but I do think the chevron design is a little classier. I think that's the way we will go but no need to rush. I have enough card stock to do both. Thanks for the opinions ladies!
  16. @@Wafflesmom Oh my gosh! Almost your turn too! Everything looks amazing. @ did a great job on your welcome letter. Your guests will love them! Your tags on your fans are cheesy and for that reason I love them so much more. So adorable. I would get tears in my eyes receiving that fan. So cute! Everything looks great girl!
  17. Okay ladies - I wrote my story on this thread September 10th and I've been absent since. I'm done with excuses. We are 5 months away and it's time to get my ass in shape. Today was step one. Mike and I went to the gym! Woo hoo! We were on hiatus for almost three months. In that time I haven't put on any weight but I've lost my muscle (the little I had lol). I got back on my fitness pal and started using JeFit again. It felt so good to be back. I even popped in Winners afterwards to grab a new work out top As I mentioned months ago MFP did wonders for me. Tracking my calories helped so much in my fitness. I've readjusted my settings and have myself on a 1280 per day calorie count. Our work schedules change by the minute but for the most part we can move things around to start earlier or later. The plan is to go to the gym at 7:30am throughout the week. We were so exhausted by the time we got home that we just stopped going all together. I'm hoping this new plan works for us. Day 1 for 7:30am workouts is tomorrow. It helps that the gym is literally across the street from us. You girls are killing it. So disciplined! I'm hoping with Mike's support I can follow in your footsteps.
