  1. The runners are extras that I didn't use, but here's a picture of how they look on the tables.

  3. Happy Wedding Day!! I hope that everything comes together beautifully and that you enjoy every minute of it!
  4. I saw this picture on Facebook with text that said something like "When you upload a picture on FB vs when you're tagged in a picture"! [emoji1][emoji23]
  5. My reception dress came!! and for what I paid, it's really nice. Comparing it to my actual wedding dress, you can tell it's cheaper, but it's definitely lightweight and much less hot. This one is a corset back too, but it was much easier to finagle getting it to stay up than the other one. I had to cover my face in the pic with me since my FI knows about this board. My only problem with it is that the boning in the top portion is flimsy, so I'm going to replace it with stiffer boning, and hopefully that + doing the corset up right will make the top fit better. I can sew and do minor alterations, but if it needs work that cost a lot of $$, I'd rather just sell it and be hot in my wedding dress than spend a bunch more $ on it.
  6. Haha I got nice bitch (Taurus). People always say I say the meanest things in the nicest ways possible!!
  7. Love your bands with your ring. They enhance your e-ring beautifully!! [emoji7][emoji7]
  8. If it's too early for travel agents to have prices, you could look at what it would cost between resorts for next year to get a general idea of what to expect for pricing within the month of April
  9. @snswedding2016 @yycbride2016 @perianjay I COMPLETELY understand you ladies on the name thing. I actually Facebook stalked a few of my FI family members because he didn't know how to spell their names. My name is spelled and pronounced wrong all the time. My name is Latrice (okay, technically it's La-Trice) but I've gotten everything from Latricia, Patrice and so on. If I type my actual name into most computer systems, I become "La" because it cuts everything off. My name wasn't pronounced right at any of my 3 graduations lol and I wrote it out phonetically. I've gotten used to people spelling it wrong so I wouldn't be upset if someone got it wrong on an invite (hey, at least they invited you!).
  10. I've been neglecting my planning thread lately, but I've been super busy at work, and just started working out 5 days a week so when I get home all I want to do is sleep. I've done a lot of work for my welcome bags, which I'll have to take pictures of later and post. Two major updates are that I picked my photographer and my reception dress is on the way!! Reception Dress I love my wedding dress (see post above) but while it's fabulous, its fitted in the legs which restricts dancing and its SO hot. So, I decided I needed a reception dress. My budget was limited because I spent the majority of my budget on the other dress, so I changed some numbers in the budget to make it work. The FI has always said that he can get his outfit for much cheaper than what I budgeted, so I skimmed a bit from there to make it work He still hasn't picked what he wants to wear (!!!) so he better be right. I decided to do a custom dress from China after reading some threads on WeddingBee. She gets really good reviews for simple dresses and is very affordable. The dress cost $175 and took about 1 month to make. It just shipped out yesterday and should be here by next week! I'll be sure to take pictures when it arrives. Here are some pictures she took of it before it shipped out.
  11. The cake at your bridal shower is so cute!! Is that graham cracker for the sand? I love it. Also, your future sister in law did a really good job on the bracelets
  12. @@calgarybride2015 I always check a combination of Etsy, eBay, and AliExpress to see if I can find things for cheaper. @@yycbride2016 The seller was suntopfavor. Here's a link to the actual topper I got. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Personalized-Gold-color-Mr-Mrs-Acrylic-Wedding-Cake-Topper-Custom-Accessory-/121685779823?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c5509a56f
  13. @@calgarybride2015 That's where I got my inspiration picture from! But I found the same topper on eBay for half the price. I had to wait about a month and a half for it to get here but it was only $12 with shipping. Funny story: When it arrives in the box, the glitter side is covered with blue film for protection but I thought it was the color of the topper and was really upset for a little bit. I buy stuff from China on eBay all the time, but it's a gamble of whether you'll get high quality stuff or not. I was pleasantly surprised with the topper. Like other people said, the toppers look much smaller in-person
  14. My FI and I don't have a joint account, but we divide all the household bills and pay a percentage based on relative incomes. So over time we've had 100/0, 65/35, and now it's 50/50. It never felt right making the person with less income pay just as much as the other when they couldn't do anything fun all month then.
  15. Decorations I put together an inspiration picture of what I have in mind so far for the reception. Our colors are navy, white, and yellow but I'm also adding in some gold, and chalkboards so that it doesn't look too nautical. I've had a lot of difficulty because when the FI finally gets interested in something he is very picky. I've snuck the gold in just because I thought it was pretty and he agreed to the cake topper so... So far I've bought: Reception Tables - Navy runners & chair sashes Sweetheart Table - Navy tablecloth and gold runner Cake or Guestbook Table - Gold Overlay Cake Topper
  16. @@yycbride2016 I'm not sure about a trash the dress, though I don't think we're going to do one because I already had to convince my FI that we need wedding day pics. My reception dress is being made by a replica shop so its only costing $175. I should have it this month sometime and I'll be sure to post about it! I figured I'd spend close to that on a bustle anyways. Spartan races are definitely more physical, but I prefer the obstacle portions to the running. @@calgarybride2015 I'm thinking I need to take the dress out the box then I tried in on, then redid all the packaging and put it back in the box. We share a closet, but it might fit in the coat closet. Thanks for the info about alterations! Assuming I don't lose any weight, it will just need a hem but hopefully it'll have to be taken in too
  17. Aww your brochures are so cute! I've made a list of all the design stuff I have left to do but have been slacking because I don't want to think about layout & fonts when I do it all day at work. The owls are adorable!! Did you get the resort map picture from the resort?
  18. @@yycbride2016 You did the Tough Mudder?! How was that? That's one of the few that I haven't gotten the courage to do because of the electric obstacle. Next year we're going to try to do all three lengths of Spartan Race. Haha the leg constriction is the exact reason why I'm also doing a simple reception dress. I don't think I could stand being in the dress all night but I feel super elegant in it. I tried a dress on like yours, but it made me look shorter. Even in my dress I feel a bit short, so now I'm contemplating wearing wedges instead of going barefoot.
  19. Ceremony Dress I bought my ceremony dress back in April when I was visiting my family for Easter, and received it a few weeks ago. I don't have any pics of it on me because 1) my mom took terrible pictures when I bought it and 2) I have no idea how to do up the corset back by myself. I've walked around the house holding the back together w/ my hands and I love it. However, it is super hot compared to at the store where they had the AC blasting. Also, my resort has stairs leading to the ceremony area and with this dress being a mermaid I'm going to have to practice walking down stairs w/ constricted legs. I bought the dress out of state so they just mailed it to me. It's from a chain that has a location in my city, so can I take it there for alterations? I thought (based on tv) that it was supposed to stay at the store until the alterations so I feel like I don't know what to do with it now that it's in my house. How early before the wedding should you start the alterations process?
  20. Bridesmaids I asked 3 close friends from college to be my bridesmaids. One of them is actually the person that introduced me to my FI. I bought a card from WeddingAffections on Etsy and wrote a poem in it. They'll be wearing navy dresses from Alfred Angelo. This is a terrible picture from their website but it looks really good in person. The top of the dress is strapless with a sheer overlay. They can wear any (flat) shoes they want that are white, ivory, or yellow. I want to get them jewelry as a gift, maybe earrings and a bracelet.
  21. I always have horror stories with mail. Last month, about a week's worth of mail was returned to sender because everyone 'moved and left no address'. Our apartment complex was under renovation and the mailman would have had to walk to all the buildings instead of driving up to each one. SO Frustrating!!
  22. @@krystalball Thank You! In hindsight I probably would have skipped the save the dates just to save more money but I did everything myself and am okay with what I paid. In total it was $80 for the save the dates and $250 for the invitations including all stamps and buying the domain name for our website to RSVP. The pockets & mats were a huge cost so I could have saved more by making those myself.
  23. *We go by 'TNT' because our nicknames both start with T* Invitations I recreated a design from Minted with a few changes, and printed them on postcard sized paper that matched the cards & pockets specs. I used Cards & Pockets for the pocket folds and the yellow mat. Everything was secured with glue dots. The inserts were printed on rack cards that I had cut to size at Staples. For the envelopes, I created a mail merge design and printed them at home. They only needed $0.70 stamps, which is awesome because they felt heavy.
  24. @@Wafflesmom @@acw271011 Thank You! Colors Our colors are navy and white, with yellow and aqua(?) accents. This picture was my inspiration. Save the Dates For the Save the Dates, I recreated a postcard design from Etsy. I used VistaPrint to print them and they came out great.
