@rachelia160 I have looked into cancun. and honetly dont like the crazy party atmosphere. I want a party atmosphere close enough to get to. But still be able to get away and relax. Is there a dance club in jade? Someone was speaking to me about the playa area. where you able to get to the location from Jade? My FI and I love water sports. So Jet sking and snorkling boating etc. With a fishing location near by i would hope they would offer things like this. Would you mind sending me the package info for them? if its any differant than what they show online. Im with you in the small not extreme wedding. We are planning to invite up to 50 people but dont expect more than 30 the most. But I would want a cocktail hour, private reception with dancing. so this is where the $$$ starts to build. Plus attempting to find a place that would allow a photographer other than what they offer for just the day pass Jade has me almost won with that alone. @@TammyWright I was able to speakto Babs and she gave me numbers. Thats about has far as ive gotten with her on the converation.I havent spoken to her about any perks or promos to be honest. Ive been going over the resorts she listed for me and going over prices and searching their info online.

Guest Inviting Strangers To My Wedding?
racht33 replied to rachelia160's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
oh no. There's a reason why we set budgets for certain things. I would not include them in my count at all. Just those your FI and yourself want there. I know it'shard to be mean esp. if your always a kind hearted person but the bridezilla somtimes just needs to come out. LOL If you dont mind me asking, did you have other resorts in mind before picking jade? what made you pick jade? Im on a battle right now on 4 resorts to pick and its breaking my head. -
Guest Inviting Strangers To My Wedding?
racht33 replied to rachelia160's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
@@rachelia160 wow now this is beyond what I am used to reading about. I totally agree with allowing people to bring a plus one esp. since they are going away for a few days its nice to have a partner along. But when its gotten so extended to the children and then the children bringing friends. Thats where i cross the line. IMO I say its ok for him to bring his friends is he pleases, but the parent needs to know where the line is drawn. if they wish to come to the resort and be on vacation thats fine. But they arent included in the ceremony , reception , personal dinners etc. They arent your guest therefore they will not be treated as such. no bags or welcome etc. If you wanted strangers at your personal event that would mean just to invite the entire resort to your party. I believe youve been patient enough and now this is when you must have your voice heard. This is your day.. and your future husband's day. Not a spring spreak/ summer break outting. -
@@calgarybride2015 I do want it to be a great resort considering my guest and our own experience but as you stated i want it to be memoraible and I dont want any regrets about the location or offers. I basically just need to pick out what are the most important things for us when it comes to the wedding and go with the resort that will offer it. None of the resorts Ive selected are rated badly. So in the end we still will end up with a great resort and recieve everything we wanted. I will be going to Mexico in Sept. Im contemplating if i should hold of on selecting one for next aug/sep. until we actually go and view them. Seeing them in person could help my second thoughts/

I guess with all the glitches yesterday I attempted to make a new thread and my thread ended up mixing into someone elses so we'll try this again so i can get more feedback: So I’m told this is the hardest part ( picking the resort) and boy they weren’t kidding. There are so many things I’m looking into, its causing me sleepless nights LOL. I want the best quality food, the best resorts to cover all age groups. but still keep areas seperated for those guest attempting to get away from their own kids (haha) Best wedding packages offered without breaking the bank. And a resort with access to outside areas to do other activities. Anytime I’m like I FOUND IT! there is something that causes me doubt .. its either they don’t offer something over the other. I have brought down my list to these 4(thank god ). I have read various reviews and everything sounds great but I cant pick!! What helped some of you ladies pick? I’m so indecisive. I don’t want to have regrets after signing the contract. My fiancé is on board to go along with which ever location I want. * I take this as more pressure ahhh. My list : Azul Sensatori – Great food reviews I love the adult and child separation but wedding packages seem a bit over priced 250 per table for private event and no music hook up included) They seem to offer the best for private events but not sure if they can be used for the wedding. Paradisus – I love the tropical secluded island feel and its in cancun close to everything. Wedding packages are really high!! :/ Dreams Rivera Maya- wedding packages seem reasonable for private events for every 6 room u get 1 room free! – But TA told me resort is not very big and everyone may be on top of each other all the time He stated it would be like living in a small village where you know most of everyone there lol! . Not sure how close this is to outside areas. Now Jade – Close to Playa for outside activities. Wedding packages seem reasonable. outside side vendors can come in for 65 day pass!! I love the adult and child separation But they seem to be very far from everything from what ive read. Did anyone have this much trouble selecting? What made the process easier?

@@TinkerSofi Thanx you for the clarification. Their website is truly confusing. When Ive attempted to contact someone at the resort to receive addtional information on Azul i just recieve the samepackage inforamtion listed on the site. Thank you for making it a bit more clear @@snswedding2016 My TA is basically telling me to go with the best resort. The one i would want to go to if i was just planning a vacation and not a wedding. Because any resort i select it will still be great. But its hard for me to not think about the wedding. I want to compare and contrast on wedding packages so I believe i may be making it harder on myself haha. I think i will just have to do what your TA did for you but myself. Gather the resort wedding packages and compare and contrast and go from there. Thanx

@@TinkerSofi I will follow your Azul foum. Im from the US so maybe that'swhy my Agent said that about the perks. Ive seen all resorts really do nickle and dime as much as they can. I did however notice that Azul their packages just show a reseervation being made for the reception dinner. Do they not have private areas ? Or are these addtional costs. Where you would have to pay for every chair and table and sound system etc. Pretty much create the entire party lets say on the beach but charged for every single item there. Or does this "reservation" indlude the beach party ?

@@TinkerSofi This honestly makes me feel so much better thinking August. I never have a problem with a heat because as you stated irather be hot and get refreshed in the pool or ocean over being rainy and cold. August is my Birthday Month so its always been my favorite * lol * My Travel agenthas been speaking to me about Azul where you currently have your wedding set. Did you get any special ratesor promos with them? He told me they arethe best to under cut anyone else on prices so they can have the wedding at their location. Did you feel like they offered you anything more than anyone else and thats why you selected them?

Hey ladies! So I finally was able to lock in the idea that I want to get married in the Rivera Maya area of Mexico. Now to pick the correct month is the next step. I want the trip to be affordable for all my guest and I don’t want to break the bank either planning the wedding. I’ve seen many resorts offer discounts wedding packages for Aug. Sept and Oct. I was planning to go with Sept or Oct. but I may have an issue with school with some of the kids that may attend and I don’t want to inconvenience the parents. So I Possibly am looking into August. Can Someone give me any feedback on the weather in these months. I’ve read a lot of rain * I don’t want a rained out vacation * and August people are dehydrated. If anyone has been to this area around these months I would love to hear your input. Or any suggestions on months you’ve gone that the temperature was great and you didn’t break the back because it wasn’t peak season. .

Oh so thats about 237 a night if its 7 nights. I will speak to my travel agent and see about this offer. He mentioned the palace resorts will pretty much offer or do anything possible to attempt to lock the wedding date with them. thanx for the info

@@Cablelove11 I personally am going through a similar situation where my mother isn’t really against having the destination wedding but just isn’t excited or wanting to be involved in wedding planning. She just seems to bring a nasty grey rain cloud over anything I speak to her about. And its very upsetting. I know it would be ideal for our mothers to be as excited as we are and want to be included in everything but we can’t force people to want the same things even if they are our parents. This is your special day! This is the day you will marry the love of your life and begin your new chapter. Don’t allow anyone to rain on your parade and stick to those who are positive and loving. Trust me give her some time. She may see what she’s missing out on and may come around just don’t force it

@ that is a really great deal!!! How much are you getting the rooms for per night? Would everyone have to stay for 7 nights ? or it just needs to equal 75 nights in total with varitons through the guest .. 1 room stays 3 nights .. 1 room stays 4 nights .. 1 room stays 5 etc

I currently am working now with a Travel Agent and working narrowing down the locations. We have both agreed on Mexico. and Now its selecting from the hundreds there .. haha! I really am pulling closely to the Now Resorts, Dreams Rivera... basically the Rivera Maya area.. I really don’t like teh cancun area with the tall buildings. I want more of a beach relaxing area and be able to go out and venture to the bigger party areas. Anyone have details on the difference between Now Jade and Now Sapphire? I even saw that Now Jade allows outside vendors for a 65 day pass versus Now Sapphire charges 300. Making my decision around photography as well. its super important to me. Also- Im going to Mexico in Sept. for my Friends wedding and was thinking to take 1/2 a day and go view some resorts. Anyone know how that would go? Any fees i may need to look into? maybe speaking about that with my agent? Does anyone believe i should just book one now prior to looking to atleast secure a date at a location and have the ball rolling for my guest? Thank you!!!

Thank you so much ladies!!! All this addtional Info has been a big help!

@@nattiegams325 are tese photographers that are on the preferred list for Dream ? Or just work for them ? I dont believe she has gotten a list and will be asking for one to work off that. Thank you both for the info!! We will continue the search

I currently am helping my friend with her upcoming wedding at Dreams Riveria Maya this Sept. While also slowly planning my Riveria Maya wedding for next Fall. We've been looking at photographers and nothing is working into our budget. Everyone is stating 3K and up. Anyone know of great photographers to hire for much lower budget who can still give us great pictures ?

@tawendy Thanx wendy ! I sent you a PM yesterday.

Hey Ladies!! Anyone know what resort chains offer the best wedding packages? Packages that include more than 20 people? and packages that offer great perks to the couples and even the guest? Ive been looking at a few resorts and notice some packages only cover up to 15 people and every addtional person can cost up to an extra 90 PP.

Just being able to chat with people that have been in my shows is so nice! THank you again!! cant wait to hear how it all went when you get back! @@nattiegams325 !!

@@nattiegams325 thank you so much for your feedback. That is a major worry of mine. To have everyone travel to such a beautiful location and not beable to do anything because its pouring the entire time. Im not sure about the risk on that. AHH so many things to think over. I also wanted to go this route not just for it to be "more afforable" as it seems it possibly may not. But also its suppose to be less stress..How do you feel about that aspect ? Good Luck with your wedding!! Its crunch time and i know you much be super excited!!!
