Were they able to show you alternate ceremony locations if it were to rain on the wedding day ? .. ive sent a note to get pictures and have even attempted to Google if possible and have yet to see images or videos etc Where there was an alternate rain location. your room sounds amazing! ! Counting down the days until Sept when I can go see everything for myself ( going 2 a friends wedding in mexico)

I buy my fiance a watch every year for his birthday, Its just something that has carried through for us. So a watch wouldn't be something i would get him as a grooms gift. I really like the idea of socks " for cold feet" saw some i liked on etsy so that may be one of the items... I saw a really funny flask that had the phrase .. .. My Yes Honey Potion .. engraved on it.. something he may get a kick out of . LOL but honestly haven't placed to much thought .. still have some time...

How have the drinks been ... watered down or decent? Have heard mixed feedback on this. You must be super excited the day is getting closer!!!!

That is insane...every resort in the area will atleast place a gaezbo on the beach at no extra cost. 350 for wooden sticks on the sand.. and most likely with no sheers included. I think this alone has steered me away from the location. There is so much competition in the area that is just would be insane to go with these prices. To think i steered away from Azul because the nightly rates weren't as good compared to Royalton. They atleast offer FREE events with certain amount rooms booked. I agree @@JoannaBanana if she tells you anything differant please share with us. I currently have my TA speaking with 3 resorts with my set budget and im still waiting for him to get back to me to see what will work out best for the wedding and our guest. I'm Honestly trying not to get sad because I was truly getting attached to the idea of this place . but hey if it doesnt work out then it just doesnt.

They charge you per location to have the private event ?? WHAT??! That's insane I thought it was just the per person amount... ughh making me really tthink this now.

Hey everyone!! I'm tagging into this to try and get the most information I can. Ive been working with my TA for over a month now and I finally decided I was going to lock in a location until some of my guest stated they didn't believe the location I wanted would accommodate their budget for traveling. Sharing this info. with my TA he suggested El Cid. and Ive been able to go over some TripAdvisor reviews and some images but very very little on information for weddings. Even on here... I don't know if i should take that as a good thing or a bad thing?? I was able to hear about a tour one of the current brides did and she loved the place. Anyone have any further info on the actual weddings at this location ? Is the resort very small when you constantly feel like your on top of each other ? Food choices good? Any extras charged for wines, steak and lobsters ? ceremony locations? Rain back up locations? How is the Jetty Set up ? it seems very narrow from the images with guest on each side.. any limitations on # of people for it? Any idea of outside vendor fees? for dj, photographer Cost for private events -- Could a welcome dinner or cocktail party be organized and held here? The reception venue locations? Rain back up location ? Any honey moon extras? - Breakfast in bed following wedding day? Turn down service? Romantic dinners on the beach ? Any information I can get will be amazing!! I love the Jetty and that's what is drawing me to the place. The price seems so amazing for everything they offer. Are you aware of any planning threads or other brides on here having their wedding there? Would you be able to share any of their information for the actual wedding. I couldn't locate prices on packages and locations etc.

So when I finally thought i found the resort and was going to move forward with the contract i had a few guest decide to speak up and state the price of the current resort i wanted was not reasonable for their budgets to travel. In a way i kinda didnt care.. but then I didn't want to only have 4 people show to our wedding if this was the only reason they weren't attending. So my TA decided to start a hunt again for me. He sent me the link and TripAdvisor reviews on Hotel Marina El Cid. Now for the price this place looks amazing. But i saw the last wedding reviews there were from 2010. EEEKkk.. makes me super worried. Anyone have any recent reviews or feedback on this resort? I would appreciate it so much!!!

i thinking the bags and the excursion. Just minimal with the items in the bag. I think people will enjoy the thought of you paying for something for them to do versus little items in the bag that some may have already packed.

Have you been able to locate a catamaran to do this for your guest? I would love to find something for them. It may break into the wedding budget but a small thank you token for flying out for us. WOW!! This sounds like so much fun!! Do you have the name of the company that organized this? We really are looking into getting a trip into the ruins and maybe even some caves if possible. Not sure how close any may be but we love having those options from companies.

Has anyone looked into shuttle or cabs to get transportation outside of the resort? i continue to hear its robbery.. about 80-100 bucks round trip from the resort to cancun or playa. Has anyone found other alternatives they can share? Many of my guest are showing interest on wanting to get out for a night or two from the resort.

Hi everyone!! I just came across this forum and looked into the resort and WOW!!!! So in love! I haven't locked down the other resort I currently am looking into into for 2016 so this is climbing up.Would anyone have an idea of what they have as a nightly charge ? Looking into the info to see if im comfortable with the price for my guest. So far Im in love with the place!!

I love your boarding passes!! They look great! Did you make them yourself?? And luckily i didnt order the passports yet. As I am seeing it is going to cost us big bucks just to get those when we can save so much money by me making my own invites at home. My Fiance and I now totally against the idea because we received an invite yesterday to a friends wedding and realized what he himself did with it.. He read it and then tossed it to the side. " Hes like we cant spend 100s on invites and then have people just toss them just like i did. " LOL so i see where hes coming from. I created really nice postcards last nice with our engagement pics and will make those into magnets and then send boarding passes to those that state they will be coming with more info. Funny you state this because Ive gotten that from a few of my friends and Im totally ok with this idea with everyone who is computer and smart phone savy but for those people who arent constantly connected to their phones or like some of my aunts and grandparents who aren't even sure how to turn on a comptur i think this is the safe way for everyone to be reached. We've attempted the verbal and continue to get a million questions. Its why we deiced to send out a save the date and have everything listed for people to search .. well the computer savy bunch that is lol
