@@ashlynm88 Choosing the resort was the most difficult and frustrating part for me! I wanted everything to be perfect for our guests and family friendly. I think I read every trip advisor review for ever resort in Mexico. One thing I had to remember is that even the perfect resort will have a few bad reviews - someone there will have a bad experience. If you look up your favorite restaurant, you'll probably see a few bad reviews. Have you looked at Moon Palace? I'm getting married at Beach Palace, but we stayed at Moon Palace in December and it definitely has a resort feel. It is huge with tons of amenities for families and adults (golf course, dolphin swim, putt putt golf, a kids zone fun room, a teen room, etc.). It also has a disco for nightlife. The food there was great! You do have to wear a wristband at Moon Palace, but I think that is the case for most all inclusives. I've been told the wedding party can cut the wristband off for the wedding and you can get a new one (but maybe check on that before you book...).

@@jj575757 it is really expensive if you don't reach enough room nights for the free private events! I do know there is an extra charge for the beach (like $7 per person extra maybe). If you want to have a welcome party but not spend the money on dinner, you could do a welcome cocktail hour. We qualified for free events, so I don't remember the exact cost of the cocktail hour but I know if was a lot cheaper than dinner!

For those of you using Zuniga, do they charge a transportation/set up fee AND an event decor planning fee? @@MissAmber26 I was wondering the same thing about the Welcome Reception/Dinner. I think I would rather people mingle rather than sit down to eat, but I still wanted to serve dinner (using my unlimited events), so I'm not sure exactly how to make that happen.

@@stephygirl welcome to the forum and congrats on your wedding being so close! My events are also on the Palenque Terrace and Sky Bar South. How much extra lighting did you rent? Since I haven't been there, I'm not sure how much additional lighting is needed. As far as the free events, check your contract. Mine says I get unlimited free events with 75+ room nights, but I know there was something free for 60 room nights as well. (I can look at mine tomorrow for you if that would be helpful).

@ I contacted Celeste. I had contacted someone else originally, but that person never wrote me back and then found celeste's email somewhere. She did respond but then I asked for a quote on a few things and she hasn't written back - it's been a week since I emailed. Who have you been in touch with? Maybe I should just give her more time. Are you working with Zuniga and having a good experience? Has anyone used Grupo Gama for their decor?

@@MissAmber26 this is the contact I have for Latin Asia - latinasia.coordination@@gmail.com. I've been getting quotes from Claudia, but I'm not sure if there are other coordinators. I've also been getting quotes from Grupo Gama and Zuniga (although Zuniga has been super slow at responding). I've just sent some pictures of things I like and described what I want and they have sent quotes. Latin Asia and Grupo Gama both have pinterest boards you can browse if you use pinterest.
