  1. @@Cancun2016 I brought an outside photographer and wasn't charged an outside vendor fee. However, my photographers stayed at the Hotel for 4 nights, they were on my room block list, and I even had seats for them at the reception (they didn't use them, but I thought it made it seem like they were actual wedding guests... ha!). I had asked about this months in advance of my wedding, and was told that I would be charged a $400 fee even though they were staying at the hotel. I thought that was really dumb, but I was prepared to pay the $400 if necessary. I think the only reason I wasn't charged the $400 may have been because they were staying at the hotel (and maybe because my wedding coordinator was amazing?). I think you could try to get away with buying the photographer a day pass only, but I would be prepared to pay the $800 just in case. You don't want to get in an argument with your wedding coordinator on your wedding day... that could really ruin the mood!

Remind me what you are doing for your table numbers? I'm still up in the air between ordering numbers and finding gold frames or getting the free standing numbers from etsy... I'm so excited for you!

  5. Hi @@STBMrsPowell ! Yanet is my wedding coordinator too! I'm getting married at Beach Palace in February. I just wanted to let you know that a few months ago I was super frustrated with Yanet (@@Wafflesmom may remember). It would sometimes take her weeks to get back to me and then I didn't feel like she was answering my exact questions. I was really worried. Lately she has been very responsive to me - she gets back to me the same day or the next day. She has been super helpful! I'm wondering if she is more helpful/responsive now because my wedding is getting closer? I'm hoping that this will give you hope that things will get better as your wedding date gets closer!

  9. Is anyone upgrading their cake or are you all using the complimentary cake? My wedding coordinator quoted me $159 for an upgrade to two tier and $219 for three tier. However, I sent her a picture of a two tier cake that I like and it was $700... maybe it was too fancy? I am just wondering what everyone else is doing!
  10. @@wmac my reception ends at 11:00 PM! We were also given the option of extending until 1:00 AM and just decided not to do so. My reception is on the Sky Bar Terrace. I believe the Palenque Terrace is the only terrace that requires you to end your reception at 10:00 PM.
  11. @@FutureMrsGarcia so exciting! Our reception is on the sky bar terrace as well! I can't wait to see photos of your set up! my wedding coordinator has assured me that all of our guests will fit on the sky bar terrace!
  12. @@Wafflesmom I think your close family would be great! If they are sitting in the front row, I don't think it would be weird for them to get up to sign. I've seen ceremonies where parents or siblings get up to do different things.

  14. @@FutureMrsGarcia thanks! We have 90 people as well. Your ceremony is on the sky deck, right? Did you rent lighting and decor for your welcome party? Do they provide a sweetheart table, or are you and your hubby sitting at a table as well?

I can't wait to hear all about your wedding! Does anyone know if we can seat 10 people at a table for private events (or will they only seat 8 people per table?)

  18. @@stephygirl Thank so much for your input! I do feel good knowing that you had such a good experience. Yanet did actually write me back today and tell me that I can use the Palenque Terrace for my cocktail hour now. I'm not sure what the confusion was, but I think I'm just going to go with it! I kind of want my cocktail hour to be in a different place than the reception area, just so that the space won't look as cluttered (although maybe it wouldn't?). I also don't want people to sit at their tables and such during cocktail hour - I would rather people be mingling and then the reception space be a surprise. I know that everything will work out... I think knowing it's less than six months away is just making me stressed! HA! I really appreciate all of your reassurance!
  19. @@stephygirl I think I will definitely leave locations off of the invitations. Hopefully it will be firmed up closer to the wedding date and I can make itineraries. I think what I'm most concerned about is space. I was already concerned about 90-100 people on the sky bar south and I think combining the cocktail hour and the dinner there would be crowded! Let me know if you have any thoughts, since you've actually seen the space. I'm trying just to relax and go with it @@Wafflesmom Hopefully I won't have to contact her supervisor! I know they do work really hard. I'm going to wait and see if it is resolved, but I'm glad to have the information - thanks @! Thanks for all of your support ladies! It honestly makes me feel a lot less stressed just to get responses and encouragement from all of you!

I thought they only had one wedding per day also, but a couple of months ago she wrote me asking if I definitely wanted to reserve the sky deck rather than the beach and she indicated that there may be another wedding. I hate to email her supervisor, but I may have to! I'll keep you all posted.
  21. @Wafflesmom @perianjay She didn't say why the location changed. I wrote her back and asked whether we would even fit for cocktails and the reception and that is when she told me that they would do dinner on one side (10 tables of 10 people) and cocktails on the other. I'm concerned that with the dance floor and everything it will be crowded. I suspect that it is because there is another wedding going on. I wrote her back again and told her that I want to have my cocktail hour on the Palenque Terrace as planned. I'm unsure what else to do. She has been very slow in responding to me (last time it took 18 days and I had to send 2 follow up emails in addition to my original email). I'm afraid to print invitations now, because I'm afraid of location changes. Let me know if you have any advice! I'm really concerned and frustrated.
  22. Hi Everyone! I've been a little MIA for the last few weeks... but now I have a slight concern. My cocktail hour was supposed to be on the Palenque Terrace and my reception on the Sky Bar South. My wedding coordinator is now telling me that both will be on the Sky Bar South. I will have 90-100 guests. I told her that I didn't think there was room on the Sky Bar South and she said that they do 10 tables of 10 people each on one side and then cocktail on the other. Do you girls think there will be room for that? Also, I kind of liked the idea of having the cocktail hour somewhere different and then moving to the reception. Does anyone have thoughts on that? They also moved my Welcome Party location... so I feel like I'm getting the short end of the stick.

  24. @@yycbride2016 I LOVE your wedding bands! The set looks gorgeous together! Also, I'm a little behind (I had to catch up) but I cannot believe that girl tweeted that! If she complained to her own friends that is one thing, but why post it on social media? Spelling a name wrong is really not a huge deal. I actually addressed one of my save the dates wrong too - I used my friend's maiden name for she and her husband rather than his last name. Total result of all of the save the dates I was addressing and my brain being friend! Anyway, they laughed and thought it was hilarious. This girl is just creating drama!
