@@yycbride2016 Just finished reading through your thread - love it all! So funny about how Calgarybride's thread pretty much convinced you on the resort, it did the same for me! It was one of two choices I narrowed it down to, but in the end went with the resort that was more affordable for both our Canadian and UK guests. The bridesmaids issue is a tough one, I've heard (and am learning for myself) that you learn a lot about people when you get married. Destination weddings are expensive and not everyone can make it which I of course understand - but it's the correspondence with some people that is frustrating. I had to chase down one of my cousins for his info - text, call, fb msg, my dad called... You can only do so much, you gave advance notice, gave some options, and even offered a discount! She may not be able to afford it and feels bad telling you she can't make it, I had a couple of my friends who are in that boat as well and didn't say anything until I straight up asked. Good luck and can't wait to see the rest of your planning!

@@ReginaKay First of all, CONGRATS! (I'm an April 2016 bride too!) I've booked at the Grand Bahia Principe Coba. I'm not sure where you are based but we were able to get it for under $1300 for our Canadian guests from April 26-May 3rd and about 800GBP for our UK guests. It's just over and hour drive but the price is great and the resort is beautiful. I'm not sure about the wheelchair access but it's a huge resort so I can't imagine them not having this. Just an option to look into! Good luck! xo

And any suggestions about where we could go? Somewhere that takes reservations? **If another date works better feel free to throw it out there! Just wanted to start getting a feel for when most people are available and to get the ball rolling.

@@Mrswaltontobe Hi! I booked mine through the resort initially before I booked my trip with my TA. I needed to change the date and we thought it would be better for me to contact the resort to do this since I already had communication with them, but after a couple frustrating misunderstanings, my travel agent stepped in and started to call and email the resort. It took her almost a week to get in touch with them but we finally got the confirmation email saying it was all sorted and confirming our date.

We're staying 2 weeks (April 23-May 7) because the 10 night option was actually $20 more than 14 nights! A few of our quests from the UK are going for 10 days but we've asked everyone kindly to not book past May 4th as we will be using the last couple of days to ourselves as our little mini honeymoon. So far everyone that has booked has respected this.

@ Absolutely. I'm still good for most of August - weekend is probably better but I'm not far from downtown, I'm happy to meet up one weeknight as well. I'll throw a couple dates out and we can get the ball rolling? Aug 22 or 23 Aug 28 (evening) Aug 30
