  1. You ladies are doing so amazing!!! @@Wafflesmom I'm happy to hear you're better but so sorry to hear you're not still 100% - I hope your appt goes well! I didn't check in last week, been a bit busy and a lot going on: I was great with diet, went spinning and worked out consistently. The scale has moved up and down a couple lbs but I'm not too concerned about that because I saw my Mom on the weekend, I haven't seen her for a couple weeks and both her and my sister were saying that I look smaller in my waist and legs! It's the best feeling when people notice! Col and I only did 2/3 Hiitmax workouts last week, you really need to split up the days because it's killer and we had things going on on opposite days. I went out for dinner with some girlfriends and had a salad loaded with shrimp and salmon and used lemon for the dressing - it was delicious, and I was so proud of myself for eating well and not even having wine with my meal! I did drink on Saturday and indulged a bit in the delicious food my aunt prepared for the bbq but we're all allowed treats and I got right back on track after. Goals this week: Fitness & Health: Spin 3 times - yesterday, Wed & Fri + at least 3 days of weights + 3 days of hiitmax (Tues, Thurs & Sat) Continue to eat well Wedding Plans: Colin has asked his groomsmen to get measured this weekend. They are in the UK so it's not possible to go shopping with them. Colin didn't get a chance to look at suit options last weekend like he had hoped - he had a root canal and drove almost 10 hours to my aunt's with me instead. So this week and weekend we will be looking into options for him and the guy. Download the Wedding Music app this weekend and start loading our reception music Thanks to everyone for being so motivated! When I get that notification that someone replied to this thread it's really nice to know that someone is staying on track and checking in
  2. I love the taco bar idea! Sounds like it will be so fun! When are you planning your AHR for? So cute that your fiancé wants to do the custom vows Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. @@JoannaBanana This is a great topic! Really hoping some past brides will weigh in!
  4. @@Natandjeff Congrats! I would definitely speak to a Travel Agent like @ and @@calgarybride2015 said. I was able to get my rate for 7 nights from Apr 26-May 3, 2016 at the Grand Bahia Principe Coba in Riviera Maya for $1259 pp. It's a 4.5-5 star (depending where you look) So it is definitely possible. I got my quote from Total Advantage Travel & Tours in Toronto. Good luck & keep us posted!
  5. So funny! I know a couple who was in competition with each other and would march in place to get their steps up. Hilarious!
  6. @@maybeoneday You sound like you're doing great with your diet, and don't get down about your exercise with the limited amount of time you have - it's better to do something than nothing. Have you tried purchasing a large plastic bottle for your water? If you get one that's at least 2 Litres it will be easier to finish - I know it sounds crazy but visually seeing the 2 litres is really helpful! I use one that is 2.2 litres and when I fill it up for a second time in a day it helps me see that I've already hit my goal and any extra is bonus!
  7. That is sooo exciting!!! I can't wait! How nice of them!
  8. @@acw271011 I know exactly what you mean! I'm going on my lunch hour today because in addition to all my own planning I've decided to throw a little surprise bachelorette gathering for my best friend - so going to see what I can find. I saw these super cute bachelorette solo cups when I was there on Wednesday but I didn't buy them, hoping they are still there. I bought 3 big beautiful pink roses. They look gorgeous with my lilies! I need to arrange them properly and may add a couple more to it - will post a pic soon!
  9. Off to spin... It's 5am... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. @@calgarybride2015 The reg price tag on those were $24.99! I would never pay that much! But I couldn't say no to $4!
  11. @ Anytime you want to go to Michael's let me know The Dixie Outlet Mall location is moving to North Queen St (near Sherway) so they have in-store deals. Perfect time to go!
  12. @@calgarybride2015 omg do it! They had so much Christmas stuff out already! I got these for my sister and best friend $4 each and in their sizes! I might go back again this week.
  13. Went a little crazy in Michael's last night - I probably spent a solid hour in there. They have amazing sales going on at the moment. Got tons of stuff and will post pics once I organize
  14. @@Wafflesmom I am feeling so much better thank you! I've been eating really clean and taking a multivitamin and extra vit c & d to make sure I don't get sick again anytime soon. I'm so sorry to hear you're not well!! You know the drill - lots of rest & fluids. And try and take some vit c too if you aren't already. That's what finally kicked mine in the butt! Don't try to push yourself if you're not well, Der is right (but don't tell him I said he is ) The HiitMax program is awesome so far! I've never done a workout like this so it's something new to add to my existing routine, and it's challenging - like I said we were dripping after 15 minutes. The fact that it's only 3 times a week for 15-20 min makes it easy to do. I'll let you know how the rest of the program goes!
  15. @calgarybride2015 @cruisebride2016 @vancouverpetunia Yaaaaaaaaa Way to go ladies! Love your motivation! I'm just checking in - doing really well with diet and exercise this week, I've worked out everyday since Friday - spin twice, weights twice, 40 min steady state cardio, and I started the HiitMax program yesterday - was only 15 minutes and had both Colin and I dripping in sweat. It's meant to be done three times a week so we are doing again tonight and Friday night. Will be hitting the weights again tomorrow morning, spin on Friday morning, then a well deserved rest day for a family bbq I have going on Saturday and back at it on Sunday.
  16. @@calgarybride2015 Exactly - I rather be sure and do my own flowers. @@acw271011 That's for the info! I'm going to see if I can find the flowers since I'm just adding to my bouquet and doing several small aisle flowers, but if I can't find anything I'll def check out that site!
  17. @@acw271011 That's not super close to me either but exciting none the less! Let me know if you get an email about the one at Sherway, I'm dying to know when it opens!
  18. @@RivieraBride15 Great to hear!!! I've scheduled my ceremony for 4pm too. Must be such a relief! Everything will be great!
  19. @@Wafflesmom Thank you! I couldn't say no to that price, and I knew those were the flowers I was looking for. We are hoping to be either in a new home or very close to it this time next year - with that in mind I knew I could use the white calla lilies as decor. Re-using is soooo worth it!!
  20. @ That's perfect!!! Great minds think alike! My package also includes a brides bouquet and grooms boutonnière, so it's not confirmed with the WC but the Wedding Manager I've been communicating with through said that I may be able to use that cost towards wedding decor. We get a floral arrangement for the ceremony (on the table) that I plan to move to the reception and possibly place on the head table depending on the size. Using the aisle flowers as centrepieces is an amazing idea!!! As for tables, I'm not sure of the size yet - I presume we'll find out once we book the reception. Since we have 40 booked as of now (me and cool, 4 wedding party and 34 guests I'm not sure how it would work... we have a potential 10 more booking so I'm waiting until closer to the day to sort all that out, and that will help me determine centrepiece numbers as well. If I do find something I love for the centrepieces, I'll probably purchase about 8-10, that will definitely cover the amount of tables and leave us with some extra for the head table and welcome table. It's hard to try and get ahead with some things until you have the numbers... that's why getting the wedding playlist and things like that out of the way will be super helpful.
  21. @ I absolutely agree. I always wanted to keep it fairly simple and just have the red and white but I'm glad we changed so I can be a little more crafty and not have to worry about the one colour being so consistent. So, here's the breakdown I have envisioned: Bridesmaides Dresses - Coral pink (already purchased, will post a pic in my next update) Suits - light-med grey pants and vest with white long-sleeved collared shirts. Colin with a light pink tie (his request surprisingly) and the boys in a coral pink tie to match the BM dresses Flowers - Lilies & roses, unless I find something else that catches my eye. Mostly white, (half of my bouquet, BM bouquets, boutonnières and moms corsages. Light pink and coral flowers for the other half of my bouquet, aisle flowers. Combo of about 50% white, 50% pink mixture in decor flowers which I imagine at this point to only be at the reception table, head table, and for centrepieces. I'd like to use the BM bouquets as reception decor, putting into vases but this will depend on timing with pictures etc and the overall reception decor. Hits of metallic silver - Cake topper, my reception sandals (already purchased, need to post a pic), centrepieces (haven't decided on these yet), frames for social media signage etc So far that's what i have pictured... How does that sound?
  22. @@RivieraBride15 Sorry to hear about your dress issues and the resort communication! I've heard countless brides say that everything just comes together once you're there. So as hard as it is right now, try not to stress too much. Are there any threads for your resort on BDW where other brides might be able to weigh in?
  23. @ That's a great price for all your flowers! I agree, the flowers in Mexico can be really pricey, and sometimes what you have envisioned isn't available because of the season. I went to a wedding 5 years ago in Cuba and I remember hearing that the pink bouquets she chose weren't the same pink she ordered. It wasn't a big deal in the larger scheme of things because it was the only pink in her whole wedding decor so it was fine, but what if it did need to be a specific shade? That's what made me want to opt for the fake flowers. For my bouquet, because Colin wants a light pink tie and the idea is to have the groomsmen in coral pink ties to match the bridesmaids dresses - I still need to post these! - I would like to find roses (both tight and full opening) in both light and coral. I've pinned some examples from pinterest and I think because we are using different shades of pink instead of one, I can get away with everything not all matching the one colour. And the same with the aisle flowers - small bouquets of roses. Do you think that sounds good?
