  1. @@snswedding2016 I just caught up! I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom! Fingers crossed!!! Sending lots of love and positive thoughts! Sean's suit looks great! I think he could totally rock either one but the darker one is pulling my focus a bit more. 2 months today!!!
  2. @@ashhtayy haha your Dad's funny! I think the term definitely needs some further explaining, but I thought it was cool to actually have a term to use. I'll probably throw a little blurb in to clarify, I've had a few people ask already what to wear, including my Dad too lol @@acw271011 Thank you! I think I'll stick with this arrangement... unless I find more flowers I want to add
  3. Hi Ladies, Haven't done a check-in for a while so thought I'd pop by. I've been keeping up with my workouts, spinning and clean eating... but I tried something a little different this week. After going off the rails a bit a couple weekends ago, I needed a kickstart. I saw the 3-day military diet on pinterest and then did some more of my own research. Essentially, you eat, but not very much, for 3 days and its a form of intermittent fasting. It's specially designed with each day having certain foods for a reason - every day you eat vanilla ice cream for dinner (I know, sounds totally weird, look it up). I tried it out because I was curious and it was only 3 days, Day 1, I felt great and lost 2.5 lbs. Day 2 I was lacking energy, was cranky and couldn't wait to go to sleep, and lost 1 lb. Day 3, I successfully completed half of the diet and then ate like a normal, healthy person for the rest of the day because I was going crazy. So all together I lost 3.5lbs and gained 1lb back when I started lifting weights and eating normally again. I probably wouldn't do it again, I know all about healthy eating and practice it, I just wanted to try it first hand knowing that if I felt ill or anything at all to eat. The only plus I got out of it after losing a couple lbs is that my portion size has decreased significantly. I eat about 5 times a day and never overly large portions, but now... I couldn't even finish my breakfast this morning after spin class when I'm usually starving. In no way am I condoning or recommending this, just wanted to give a first hand review. Hope everyone's doing well and looking forward to the weekend!
  4. @@Wafflesmom @ Thanks Ladies! Ahh seeing that 5 months+ in my ticker is crazy! @@krystalball It is a relief! I wasn't stressed about a certain number of people booking because we didn't get any wedding package perks with it anyway. But definitely happy to have more a final number to work with. I guess as we get closer we'll be able to figure out the exact number and be able to start organizing favours, seating charts etc My Mom is sending my bridal shower invitations out next week! I am having my shower on February 7th, 2016 and she needs rsvp's by January 7th. We figured with Christmas coming, if we get them out now it gives people a chance to respond before they are drowning in Christmas cards, invitations etc I don't have much in terms of updates except that we are going to start working on our Wedding Wishes soon to send to the resort. Although we won't have our coordinator until 3 months before, they will start pre-booking some things for us which is awesome. I heard back from the resort photographer and they confirmed we can pay in USD or pesos, our choice. I'm looking forward to getting more DIY projects done and will update as I go. I'm been doing an online event planning course and found the perfect terminology for the dress code for a destination wedding (if you're worried about some guests showing up in their swimwear) that I thought I'd share: Sophisticated Resort Wear - Upscale sundress for her and subtly-coloured linen trousers for him
  5. @@Maggietron - so exciting!! I would totally worry about something like that and make a list just in case, at least you have your bases covered. Please check back in and let us know how it all went! Good luck!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Beautiful!!! So glad you tried on a veil - it's crazy how you can have your mind set on one thing and then bam! It's great you were open minded about it because you look incredible! So nice to get a visual of how you'll look together! You both look great! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Oh @@calgarybride2015 my heart goes out to you. Trust me, I completely understand the family drama and it's really unfortunate that it adds to the emotion you're already feeling from your loss... Not easy. Hang in there, here for you! Xo Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you @@vancouverpetunia you are so sweet. Starting to feel better and hoping to get back into my routine soon. You're doing so great! Don't let a little (or big) treat discourage you! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It's been ages since I've posted! Just checking in as its 6 months until the big day!!! All the Canadians have paid in full so that's 17 plus Colin and I coming from here and the 24 UK guests with their own payment dates. I still have people saying they're coming and booking so we'll see... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Oh @@acw271011... you look beautiful! Looks like a magical day and Doug's smile! I'm so sorry to hear about your job! Everything happens for a reason, I'm sure there is something even better coming your way!

  13. @@snswedding2016 That sounds great, thanks for getting us a reso! I can't get there until 6/6.30pm but will def be there!
  14. @ I remember us all mentioning December 4th? I'm still good for this date if everyone else is.
  15. @@diadiamond Thank you so much for sharing. I've heard from past brides that things can go wrong and are sometimes beyond your control, but for the most part everything will work out and just to relax and enjoy it all. Reading your review and hearing about it in person at our meet-up along with seeing your pics really shows how perfect your day was. It's so reassuring. Again, you looked beautiful and so happy! I'm so glad that your day was everything you hoped for! xo
  16. Hi Ladies, I'm sorry I've been MIA for the last week... sadly, my Nonno passed away suddenly on Wednesday. It's been a long, draining week and my diet is horrendous - I've been eating at random times, eating out and just plain eating junk/comfort food, along with drinking... I've come down with a really bad cold now form being so run down and finally back at work today. Although I have the motivation in my head to exercise, I can't breathe through my nose so I can't wait to feel better and get back at it, We are less than 6 months from when we leave for Mexico and time is flying. @@Wafflesmom I had to cancel the bachelorette so I didn't get any cupcake photos for you. It sounds like you are all doing amazing on your goals! My Goals (depending on this cold): If I feel better tomorrow I am going to spin, if not I will work out Thursday and spin Friday morning. This weekend I'm going to work out and meal prep. I need to crack down, I'm going very strict, and having one meal treat a week - time is ticking!
  17. @@michelle24 I'm getting married on April 30th, 2016 at Tulum beach too, also staying at Coba! What time is your ceremony? I've see through the GBP Facebook group that we are able to pay in pesos, I would confirm with your planner though once they are assigned. I'd like to find that out from the photo company as well. The wedding manager told me that the basic decoration includes the chairs, white sashes and the flower spread on the table at the ceremony. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I'm going to confirm, I can't find it on my paper work. The previous wedding manager said 4 but I found online that the requirement in the Riviera Maya is 3 days for witnesses. This manager is more on the ball than the previous one so we'll see. Thanks for bringing this up!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Aww that will be such a nice moment for you and the men in your life they are lucky guys! My Canadian witnesses will be there 3 days before. The previous wedding planning manager from Gbp said 4 but I'm going to double check. If it's 3 that would work out perfectly! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I think immediate family is a great idea. Unfortunately the Canadians won't arrive 4 business days before, well they technically do but they won't count the day they land. So all my witnesses will have to be Colin's side, some are going for 2 weeks land a couple days before us, some for 10 days and will land the day after us. I think you should go with your gut on choosing your brother or uncle, it's hard to say because I don't know your relationships like you do. Either way it will be beautiful and a nice touch to have them as your witnesses. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. @@Wafflesmom I agree - I don't know how it all works... I agree that it would probably look weird having different people than in the bridal party come up to sign, but I don't know if there are really any other options.
  22. @@Wafflesmom omg I'm in the same dilemma. Only Col's groomsmen will be in the country long enough to be official witnesses, we were thinking of having their wives sign as the other 2 witnesses. I don't know how that all works during the actual signing, like do my 2 bridesmaids do anything and then the 2 wives come up? Thank you for asking this! Hopefully we can get some answers!
  23. @@Wafflesmom hahaha I'll def email you some pics, I'll post on instagram for sure and maybe FB
