  1. @@kimmyd2 Hi !! SO exciting to meet another bride for the same week!! We were assigned Estrella Ausin as our WC. We have done introduction emails (1.5-2 weeks ago) but have not made any decisions. I think the dinner is plated? Or at least in some of the packages. I am most interested in the current color options (for table cloths, decorations etc) so that I can pick a "color theme" for the wedding (my bridesmaids are asking about their dresses). I have sent you my personal email contact...hope we can connect throughout this process!! Thanks, Hilary
  2. Hi, OK.....we just booked our date and sent invitations! Eek....January 23rd, 2016! We already have 70 guests that RSVP'd yes. I will be reviewing old posts and look forward to more great chats with former and new bride-to-bes about the Barcelo! Thank you, Hilary (Canadian bride) Thank you for the review. Just curious, is that the Marianne dress by Maggie Sottero that you are wearing? Love it!
  3. @ thank you ! I will trying contacting that TA!
  4. @@TheBHolders We must be thinking the same My top dresses so far were the MS divina and the marianne. I also like the MS Adalee and MS Haven although I have no idea of prices.
  5. @@TheBHolders I was just considering the MS divina dress but have not tried it on. What is your honest opinion of the dress?
  6. @@Meandhim Thank you and good luck! I will be thinking of you until Feb 18th....good luck with the numbers! @@calgarybride2015 Thank you too! I am also close to booking in the Mayan so I will have lots of questions soon
  7. Hi I am also a newbie bride-to-be from Toronto seeking a Travel Agent. I have been working with one but find the process really overwhelming! Too many emails, prices, deadlines..... head spinning for sur! My suggestion would be to narrow your resorts down to 1-2 places if possible. I was trying to find the "cheapest" 5 star resort within my time frame and it was not working. I am now going to worry less about the price (sorry guests!) and focus on finding a resort that does an excellent job at weddings. Still have not booked yet...... @meandhim - Thanks for the suggestions! Once you have your date booked, did you send out save the dates with the travel agency info? How are you telling guests that they need to pay the deposit asap? Thank you!
  8. I am replying to my own post! haha I got a lot of negative feedback for this resort so we did NOT book it. Thanks, Hilary
  9. Hi Kim, I am also considering GP for my 2016 wedding. The past brides on this forum have really been helpful. I am not sure about the beach ceremony because I will be having a Catholic weddng at the chapel. Although I am still confused how there are 5 resorts in 1 place? And which to book for my guests. I hope the TA will help. Thaks, Hilary
  10. Hi I am in the exact same position. Trying to book a Catholic wedding in Mayan! Gran Caribe - glass chapel seems beautiful. Hard Rock hotel also has a glass chapel. Moon Palace - agreed seems pricey. We were quoted $1800 from Toronto. Glass chapel beautiful. Grand Palladium - I am also worried about the large resort but like the chapel. Dreams - seems very small Iberostar - no familiar yet Good luck - and keep us posted! We can discuss all the other requirements for a Catholic ceremony too!
  11. I am also trying to plan a wedding during peak season (January or February 2016) for less than $1500 from Toronto. Originally, I thought $1200 but I soon learned that everything is expensive. So far, I have had the best luck with Air Canada vacations. TBD.
  12. Congrats! I am still trying to book my hotel and date for a 2016 Cabo wedding - look forward to following everyone's journey.
  13. Hi, So, I was unrealistic in my price for guest packages, and will need to chage my initial plan Has anyone been to the Royal Solaris? It is a 4 star (not 5) but would be a more reasonable price for my guests and still fits the time criteria (January 2016). Thank you in advance for your feedback! The resort has not been reviewed in the other forum. Take care, Hilary
  14. It seems that this hotel may be out of the price range for my guests. I cannot seem to find a reasonable all inclusive package for this luxury hotel. Back to the search....
  15. Hi I am a newbie to the forum and bride to be from Canada. I am planning a wedding in Los Cabos (Dreams?) for January/February 2016. Any suggestions on travel agencies in Ontario? I have been in contact with a few but not a lot of luck. Thank you, H
  16. Hi Another Canadian bride just starting her planning. Good advice. I will look for a travel agency.
  17. Thank you ladies! I heard back from the WC in less than 24 hours (great start!) Since I am likely to have the ceremony off site at a Catholic church, I will not likley buy a "wedding package" but instead, have to rent / plan each item. My goal is a wedding in January or February 2016. I am seeking a travel agent (Ontario Canada) who can help with the logisitics. Someone familar with this hotel would be great. To be continued....
  18. Hi Are there any recent Dreams Los Cabos brides out there? Or brides to be? I am seriously considering this location for my wedding .... Thank you
  19. Hi This is my first post as a new bride... Most of my wedding plans are still in the air, however, I know that I want to get married in a Catholic Church. We have also narrowed our destination location to Los Cabo. Thus, it would seem that Misión de San José del Cabo Anuiti is a good choice. I have read older posts of brides that stayed at Dreams and still had the ceremony at this church. Is anyone else planning a Catholic wedding in Los Cabos? Thank you
