I'll be getting married in January, 2016 in PV, but as of yet don't have many plans in place. We're looking at either Riu Jalisco or Dreams Villamagna for the wedding. I'd like to do a welcome dinner or cocktails on our first night so we can hand out welcome bags and touch base with everyone, and I would really love it if we could do at least one group excursion. I do like your idea of just putting the excursion schedule out there for everyone to just decide what they want to do. Maybe what we'll do is pick one or 2 that we want to do and then just tell everyone what we're doing and whoever wants to join us is welcome to.

January 2016, likely the 6th. We've settled on Puerto Vallarta but have yet to pick a resort. Just started planning and trying hard to not feel overwhelmed, haha.

Hey everyone, I'm brand new to the forums, but so far have not found much in the way of Riu Jalisco reviews post-renovations. My fiance and I are in the early stages of planning our Jan, 2016 wedding in Mexico, and I was wondering if anyone has had a wedding at the Riu in the past year? I've read the resort reviews for both the Riu Jalisco and Dreams Villamagna, but has anyone been to both and can maybe offer some advice? Thanks in advance!
