  1. @@Brandie Mine lasted over a month. It really depends on the type of lashes you get. The lady that I go to is really thorough and she also made mine extra full. I still have some left and I got them on December 8th (so technically almost two months). I asked for her to make them extra full in case any of them fell out in the first few days of being there. I really didn't have any issues with that though, even with the swimming & tanning.
  2. haha.. I can't get over the lady in the green/teal shirt. She looks like she's posing hard for our picture haha
  3. Eek! We didn't bother with the registry, but wow.. that's a good heads up for anyone planning to do a registry. I'd feel the same way as you and of course you'd want to go through everything after scanning it in the store.
  4. @@deecol @@ashhtayy haha yea! No one will notice if the glass is in the frame or not. It looks so much better in photographs too. Jerilee gifted me this beautiful frame with my song lyrics in gold foil.. I had it on my cake table and I was SOOO excited for it to be in my cake cutting pictures. You can't even see what it says because of the flash glare. I was so dumb to leave the glass in lol. It's just one of those small details you can easily forget. The spray painting get's messy, but my best advice is to give it distance. If you spray too close it just drips down the glass because there isn't a ton of grip when you spray the first layer onto glass. I'd say "dust" over the glass with the spray paint. Short bursts from far away and sweep over it. Then once you have a base layer keep doing the same thing. I find spray painting glass a bit annoying because of the fact that the spray paint doesn't stick as good to glass. I screwed up on a few of my mason jars so I had to do more. Also you should buy the clear coat for them. I got a clear matte coat from walmart in the crafts dept. It also sprays on and it just helps to keep the spray paint from rubbing off. It was so good.. I even used it on top of all of my chalkboards once I was done painting them. It kept all of my chalk marker in place so that it didn't rub off in transportation.
  5. Those mercury glass votive holder will be perfect! We absolutely loved them and we used them for our welcome/rehearsal dinner as well. They photograph really nicely $10 USD is SO STEEP for vases! That's like $14 canadian per vase. You could get them way cheaper here and just do what I did, wrap them up in fabric/bubble wrap and then transport them in your carry on. I brought all of my breakables in our carry ons and nothing broke at all. I brought mason jars for vases and I was so happy I did. They aren't nearly as delicate as anything else and they also fit with my overall look and vision. You can glam up mason jars really easily - spray paint works wonders. I used clear masons for my guest tables and I spray painted some gold for the head table. Also just a tip since we're on this topic. If you are bringing any frames with pictures make sure to leave the glass at home! haha I wish I had remembered to remove the glass. Nothing broke, but it would have been nice not to worry about it and also if the glass is left in the picture frames it creates a glare on them at night time when your photographer starts using flash. Just a tip!
  6. Hey! Don't be too worried about the flash. Lancelotti doesn't use on camera flash, he has an assistant with stand alone flash. I know it sounds funny, but makes a massive world of difference in photography. You will never have flash beaming onto your face the way that your cell phone is. I did my own makeup and was more than happy with it. I typically enjoy a more natural look and I found a good balance for my wedding day. I practiced a lot as well and in the end I was happy with how it looked in person and in the pictures.
  7. It looks like you had a great time in Argentina! I love the pictures and everything that you did with your decor etc
  8. @@deecol this is why I love you ladies! Such an awesome supportive group of girls. If you need any help with anything for your shower, let me know. always here for a vent as well
  9. @@calgarybride2015 GTA bride meet up will definitely be happening in the first week of August then!!
  10. I'm going to be here tonight by 5! So I may be earlier than everyone.
  11. Love your review and pictures!! Sounds like you had such a great week (despite a few hiccups, but we definitely all have those). Sean's dad's wife..oh my ..what a riot. I can't believe that. Good on you for keeping your cool. I'm not sure I would have been able to do the same. I KNEW that was Mr. Hugo Boss.. he is DEFINITELY Fabio looking omg. He reminds me of the man who came up to my gf's and I at my bachelorette when we were eating dinner at Cibo.. He looked similar to that and told me he was a stripper. Your vows are so beautiful Steph (both of them)! I love personalized vows, they always make me cry because they come from the heart!! I had the hardest time saying mine without crying, but somehow made it through. Chester was weeping like a baby haha. Love all this pictures and the candid ones are great! Your pre-ceremony is so sweet. I felt the exact same way and it's really hard to keep it together when you see it all unfolding and you know it's almost time to walk down the aisle! It's a pretty amazing feeling though.
  12. Welcome, I'm sure you'll hear lots of opinions on this, but I don't think that destination weddings always more affordable and they definitely aren't less stressful. I think the stigma behind them is that you just pick a resort and that's it, but planning is still involved as is looking for vendors, decor etc (photography). I wish you all the luck with your wedding planning venture and congrats on being engaged! Although it's stressful it's a fun time and I'd do it over again and again if I could.
  13. @@calgarybride2015 haha. It's definitely my Eastern European genes. If I took after my dad and his English side, i'd definitely burn easily. Him and my brother burn instantly. Oddly enough I have really freckly skin, but we think it's because I grew up in Florida with a lot of sun exposure.
  14. @@maria1488 I never had an issue, but i'm not much of a sweater so i'm not sure how that impacts the lashes. I swam everyday, put sunscreen on my face.. etc and never had issues. @@ashhtayy haha yea.. three weeks was more than enough for me. I would have been way too brown if I went any longer. Plus there's areas that tanning beds never get properly lol.. I was trying to even out my 'under arm' area when I got to Mexico because the tanning bed didn't tan that area. It bothers me because I notice it in my wedding pics lol
  15. @@Danielle1 Yes! Zaray was amazing!! She will work so hard to make sure your day is perfect..and any other private events that you have. She's such a sweetheart!
  16. Woo! I we surprised my parents too.. It was pretty funny. I had the officiant coming to their house. I got there and they were doing yard work haha. Then my dad was disappointed because he thought the surprise would be me telling them I'm pregnant. Ohhh man hahaha
  17. Hahaha. I have the app on there still! I can do a little tutorial of sorts
  18. for sure! although I will caution you, they do kind of kick you out right at the time the event is scheduled to end. haha They did that the night of my rehearsal dinner
  19. Awesome! Exciting times ahead now that the ball is rolling I'm actually really really glad that I paid the additional amount to extend my reception. Originally my reception was due to start at 6 and only go until 8? I think it was 3 hours of private event per day and I was already using one hour on the cocktail hour. I ended up paying the additional few hours to bring our time up to 11. It ended up working out really well because time really flies when you have to get through the first dance, parent dances, speeches, dinner, cake cutting etc. Even with purchasing the additional time, I felt like we didn't have enough time and I wished that I extended until 12 am. Beach Palace doesn't have a club and the one night that it would have been nice would have been after the wedding because we were all still in party mode at the end of the night. That's a huge plus with MP! At least even if you cut your reception off a bit early, you guys can continue the party at Noir. Good call with styling trio. I personally did my own makeup after spending a ton of time practicing, watching tutorials and spending lots of $$ at Sephora, but if I were to have hired someone, I definitely would have gone with them. I've heard that the spa doesn't do the best job. Really good call with wearing your hair in a low updo. I think my biggest regret was choosing to wear my hair down. I was swaying toward a low 'boho' style updo closer to the date and after seeing how my hair held up in the heat, I wish that I had!
  20. @@snswedding2016 Definitely! I'm going to be uploading all of my pics to the iPad this week to bring Friday I was hoping my video would be ready by then too, but he said most likely mid week of next week. EEK!
  21. @@ashhtayy You will definitely be dark if you start now! I started tanning about 3 weeks before I left and I got a really solid base (people were asking me if I already went on my vacation.. before I went haha) I think it also really depends on your skin tone as well. I tan very easily and quickly. When I got to Mexico I limited my sun exposure and I wore really strong sunscreen the entire time. I ended up having no tan lines at the end of the trip which worked out well because I really didn't want any in my dress. I wore eyelash extensions and I would highly recommend getting them. I asked my lady to make sure mine were really full since I would be wearing them swimming etc and she did a great job. I got them done 2 days before we left.
