Just curious, because I'm Obsessed with eyebrow products, what product did they recommend? Haha.

That's the one! and yes, it is one of the last steps of your makeup. It should go on 2nd last. The last step should be a setting spray.

Ahh yes, my holy grail.. It's called Laura Mercier Translucent powder. It's basically a white powder (that goes on your skin and doesn't leave any colour or powder look), but it holds all of your makeup in place and it also keeps your skin from getting any kind of 'sheen' to it. I've used other translucent powders, but nothing has ever worked like this one. It's the one my makeup artist recommended and after she used it on me the night of my bachelorette I knew it was the best. I got home at 2am and my makeup looked fresh and brand new still. I used it on chester so that he never got a glare or greasy looking face (because of the heat of course). It worked like a charm Oh and you can grab it at Sephora. I'd say to ask them for the small travel sized one. It will be more than enough for you (I'm still using it now and I bought it last October). It's like $25 or so. but 100% worth every penny.

I'm honestly not 100% sure how many straws we used, but I just know that any mixed drinks had straws in them all night. Ours surprisingly never got that soggy, but we weren't using the same straw all night. The bartender was good with always putting a fresh straw. If you do need them I probably have 20-40 extra straws that are new still and in the bag. I could always bring them with me to the next meetup

@@ashhtayy If you need anymore i'm pretty sure I still have a mixed assortment of blush and white ones. I think some are polka dot and some are a chevron style pattern.

Deecol's Planning Thread - Gbp - April 30Th, 2016
bride2016 replied to deecol's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
That was too sweet of her to hook you up with those beauty products!! You have so many people looking out for you because you are a great person. I still have the veil if you need it. It's actually the style that has the comb so technically if you still wanted to wear it you could even wear it styled underneath your bun. like this.. Let me know! -
Cute dress! Don't worry, I also bought the cute, but unnecessary straws and they actually turned out really great. We used them the whole night with all of our drinks. I just gave them to the WC who provided them to our private bar and they used them in any drinks that would usually have a straw.

Love the white dress from BR. Super cute!! I think that will make a perfect dress for a bridal shower/rehearsal dinner. Definitely wear it with a cute statement necklace and you're set. And informal cocktail hour is a great idea. I wish that I did the same thing. I had a set cocktail hour in a different location and it wasn't really necessary. Some people even ran back to their room after the ceremony so honestly, I think just giving your guests a little buffer time in between won't hurt. They can go off to one of the bars or get ready for the reception.

I had wedding nightmares for six months leading up to the wedding. I was really immersed in our planning almost too much and I was constantly thinking about it which I think may have been triggering my dreams. They got a bit worse as I got closer to the date and my anxiety built a bit more.

Hey!! Look into styling trio for your hair/makeup. I've heard amazing things about them and they are Palace approved!! Good luck with everything and don't stress too much because you're in good hands. Palace works really hard with their weddings and as soon as I got to Beach Palace all of my worries went away once I met my on-site coordinator.

Deecol's Planning Thread - Gbp - April 30Th, 2016

The list is dwindling a bit! Looks like you've been chipping away which is amazing considering all of the things that you've been facing lately with your bestie. These next few weeks will definitely be a bit crazy, but it will all be worth it. Really loving those little premade floral bunches from Michaels! What a great find!! Super cute in the vases with the table numbers. Everything is going to look fantastic Can't wait to see it all together. I do agree about the photography.. $350USD is SO expensive and just to add 20 more photos? definitely crazy. You will have so many nice photos from your special day and not to mention all of your guest photos as well. You will have tons of memories to look back on. -
haha yes! I found him very complimentary as well. He would always make comments like that and it was nice and comforting.

@@PunkyAnna Exciting! We got married there December 15, 2015 and had a great wedding week. We had our ceremony on the sky deck and our reception at the sky bar. It was beautiful! Congrats!! If you need any tips, feel free to read through my planning thread. I also added a full review of my wedding (skip to the last few 5-10 pages of my thread). My thread link is in my signature below

Good idea! Also put some plates out and glasses too if you can because those will really fill up the table as well. I used two vases myself (to Erin's point) and I used 4 different style & height mercury glass votives on each table. I even mixed in silver (haha.. mixed metallic was a big step for me). It turned out really nice though. Hard to tell from this pic, but I had two different style vases. One was a mason jar, clear with ivory roses and lambs ear and the other was a smaller vase with a 'hob nob' style antique texture to it. I had babies breath and tiny pink roses in that one (which I bought from Michaels and brought with me).

There isn't much that I regret. There were a few small hiccups the day of, but those are pretty unavoidable and they generally go unnoticed. I do wish that I spent a bit more time on myself the day of the wedding. We waited a bit too long to start my hair and we ended up rushing through it in the end. On that note, I also wish I wore my hair completely up. The mexican heat/humidity and the week of saltwater on my hair made my hair very soft and unable to hold curls the day of the wedding. That was one thing that I definitely wish I did differently.

@@calgarybride2015 thanks! xo I know.. I was so mad and honestly I still am. The worst part is that her and her husband are retired and super well off.. again.. i'm not expecting money from her, but it's like.. have a heart. A card with some nice words would have sufficed. She was also bragging about some trip she went on right before my wedding.. it was so infuriating to me. I will never look at her the same after this and I know my parents feel the same. My mom was super hurt and still is.

I don't know how I just saw this thread now, but wow.. the nerve of some people. It honestly bothers me sometimes how insensitive people can be when you're having a DW as opposed to an at home wedding. I can't even begin to explain how frustrating it was when some people's attitudes were that I got a free wedding because of them. Little did they know that our wedding actually cost us $10000.00 and yes, the free trip is an extra perk if you get it, but we weren't banking on it either. My aunt actually backed out of our wedding week the week before we left and my mom was extremely upset because it was her only sibling going. After the wedding, I received no card from her.. absolutely nothing at all. Not that we were expecting money or anything, but she backed out the week of our wedding and got her trip amount reimbursed because she bought insurance. Not even a card to say congrats? I saw her at a family gathering a few weeks ago and she brought it up to me saying how her booking benefitted me and that's why we didn't get a card. I was so offended that I actually told her "You did nothing for me. I paid for my entire wedding and you didn't help me in ANY way, in fact it was quite the opposite because you backed out the week before we left and I had to pay a per person rate for many things for my wedding in advance". She knew she offended me and I honestly haven't spoken to her since. I do hold a grudge sometimes, but in this case I don't feel wrong for it. I honestly can't stand when people are this ignorant and don't understand. Chester and I are a young couple just starting out and worked hard to pay for our whole wedding. No one assisted us.. it just bothers me how someone can discount that with some ignorant words and thinking that our guest list paid for our wedding because they attended it.

Love love love your review!!! I am totally a makeup snob now too so I 100% get it. I became a VIB Rouge again at Sephora before the wedding.. that's how I knew I bought enough wedding makeup haha. Definitely agree with all of the makeup tips. I use smashbox photo finish primer and I love it. My fave makeup setting spray is definitely Mist & Fix by Makeup forever, but I also have the urban decay one. Laura Mercier translucent powder is an absolute MUST! I even put it on Chester in between the ceremony and Reception so that he wasn't shiney for the photos hahaha. I'm really glad that everything went well. From what I can see it looks like it was an amazing day!! I'm also really happy that Lancelotti worked out for you. We had a great experience with him and just overall I found him very genuine and very generous. He stayed for at least an additional hour for us.. it may have even been a bit longer. I had to tell him to leave because I felt like I was taking advantage of him. I can't wait to see your professionals and your video!!

They look awesome. Don't worry it will all look right. I remember doing the same thing and feeling like it was missing something and it was.. it was missing everything else that will be on your tables in Mexico (Ie. Glasses silverware etc). Once you have those things it will all look fine. Have you considered not having everything so symmetrical? Especially if you have votives of different sizes. I also did an uneven number of votives. I asked my WC to put my votives around my vases in a less symmetrical way. I had the table number on my table too though so I'm not sure if you were adding anything else.

Looking good! The flowers look great. My bridesmaid's bouquets were also a bit smaller than I had expected, but it will be the last of your worries! They look amazing regardless. I thought the same thing and now when I look back I think it was really sufficient There are no real rules with bouquets anyway! Especially with all of the different types out there now. Everything is going to look really great for your day!!

Makes sense! haha. That was my dilemma as well with Beach Palace and the Sky Deck. There were no supporting beams/poles to hang lights so they would have had to install tensors. Although I must say I wasn't quoted anything close to that! wowza @@ashhtayy @@snswedding2016
