  1. OMG I'm blind. The web site is in your post above (wasn't underlined/linked, so I didn't see it).
  2. @acw271011 What is the web site where you got your dresses? I looked in your thread, but didn't see it. I"m sure it's there somewhere... I have looked at Lulu's (for BM dresses, you mean?). Nothing is jumping out at me. I feel like I've looked a million places (primarily online). Don't know why I'm such a bridezilla on this. I'm considering dresses on this site right now: www.azazie.com.
  3. @@Meandhim Love how you roll with the punches, lady! Congrats on the official marriage! Hopefully you got all of the travel drama out of the way this time so you won't get hit with it for your big trip.
  4. Very nice! And I like the rosette strap. Blush would be so pretty! Where did you get it for $49?!?
  5. @@JoannaBanana Glad things are moving along for you! In terms of what to do next... If you are planning to do welcome bags or bringing decor, I think it's never too early to start collecting things/crafting things. I'm not really doing much in this way (basically zero), so this eliminate a lot of work for me (YAY). The other thing that I would recommend, because it's seasonal, is buying general stuff you will need for your trip that's mainly available in the summer and is probably on sale now. Sundresses, flipflops, sunglasses, tanks, shorts, sunscreen, swimwear, bug spray, etc. My wedding is about a month before you, so maybe the list of things I've finished will help you find your next project That said, I'm a planner, so I may be way ahead of the game (or not!). Wedding web site Save-the-date emails Wedding party selected & confirmed Ordered decor from KatyHK Invitations printed Groom’s outfit purchased Groomsmen’s outfits purchased BM & GM gifts purchased Group excursion booked Photographer booked Ceremony musician “booked” (friend/guest of ours)
  6. Has anyone looked into or actually ordered dresses from Azazie? They are a California company, with product produced in China. You can order standard sizing or custom sizing at no extra cost. The web site is great and easy to navigate. Swatches available for order. Turnaround is quick. Prices are reasonable. Coolest thing is that you can order sample dresses to try on for the cost of shipping (total $10 per dress). Sadly that perk is only available in the US, not Canada. They also will credit you some $ if your custom sized dress needs alterations! They have some wedding dresses, but tons of BM dresses in up to about 60 colors in a variety of fabrics. Also mother of the bride and coordinating accessories, including ties & pocket squares for the guys. I've found some reviews and they are mostly very positive, but wondering if anyone here has any direct experience with them. Seems they are a newer company, maybe around for about a year? Shipping to Canada is definitely more expensive (of course), but a little worried about taxes & duties. Someone posted on the Azazie web site that it cost them $268 in taxes and duties?!? Which I believe was more than the cost of the dress. Anyhow, I really like the looks of their product and they seem to have the color I want (will order swatches to be sure). Very interested in trying them out!
  7. This is an old thread, but most recent I can find on BM dresses. What did/have you picked for your maids? Where did you get the dresses? Please post! I'm struggling a bit, as we all live in different cities (as well as different countries - US & Canada), so we will never be able to go shopping together. I was planning on choosing a color from David's and letting them pick their own dress, but I'm not in love with the color options at David's. Online, I've looked at Macy's, Nordstrom's, The Bay, Sears, BLHDN, J. Crew, Ann Taylor. I just found Weddington Way and requested a swatch from Alfredo Angelo. Could be a good option, as they have lots of styles in the same fabric & color. I need to investigate Target a bit more - they have what looks like a decent color (and good prices), but I'm not sure how accurately the color is representated and also not sure about the quality of the dresses. I'm looking for: Teal; Short; Chiffon or other light fabric. I think the major issue is the color. I'm finding that most colors are either blue or green (rather than kinda in the middle), or they are too light or too dark. I sound like Goldilocks.
  8. Your photos are stunning! So glad it turned out so well and that you enjoyed yourselves. [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Can't believe you are on the final countdown. It's all going to be amazing and the stress will just melt away. [emoji4] Have an amazing time and can't wait to hear from you when you get back [emoji7] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. @@acw271011 Maybe try calling the 800 number they list on the Vistaprint web site? I haven't called, but it says they are available to help.
  11. @@ashhtayy PM me with your email address and I will send a spreadsheet with the various options I investigated.
  12. I'm stuck between my best friend and my sister. I won't have anyone else in the wedding party. I want to have them both as equals but someone will have to stand next to me, so I feel that "elevates" her status. This stuff can be tough and emotional [emoji15] I'm not really sure what to suggest to you. I think above are some good points to consider. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Hahaha wish you had taken some photos with the dress half over our head or something [emoji6] But at least you got to sneak a peak. When looking at flat invitations/cards on Vistaprint I think a lot of them had an option to upload a photo to the back. Would that work? Probably doesn't have to be just a photo. Could be something saved as an image file, I would think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. @@ashhtayy (or anyone else) Happy to share the details from my excursion research if you need it at some point. I contacted around 10 vendors, mainly catamaran tours. All Cancun/Riviera Maya. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. @@acw271011 So glad to hear you have booked your resort. I know that's been a long process for you. Yay! [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. @@Lia33 That sounds amazing! I will def check it out. Beach would be nice as I feel we won't get a lot of beach time during our wedding week, but I really want to make sure we get rainforest/wildlife since that is completely new to us. BTW we are holding off on booking our flight to SJO until September. It's a brand new route for Volaris that they aren't flying until September. When I go to book the flight for April, it says "subject to govt approval". Although it will let me book it, it makes me a little nervous. So we're going to wait until they at least start flying that route. [emoji15] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. I know a lot of people are really into the OOT bags and I won't knock it since I haven't tried it (been to 2 DWs and no OOT). But we are planning an excursion (that we will host). I feel like most people will bring a lot of things that typically are included - medications, sunscreen, hand wipes, etc. At least I know I do. At one of the DWs we attended they did an excursion and for us (as guests) it was honestly the highlight of the week. So that's what we're doing. I prefer "experience" gifts lately anyhow, since it seems like everyone has pretty much what they need (first world problems lol). Plus I'm lazy [emoji12] Oh I will say that bubbas or something similar are awesome. We figured that out after our first AI experience and now bring our own. If I was going to do OOT bags, it would actually be a bubba stuffed with some goodies. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Congrats on starting your "real" planning thread Looking forward to watching everything unfold. We're about a month before you in the Mayan Riviera, too
  19. @@DR2015 I've just PM'd you with the code, etc. Hope it works
  20. Hmmm... interesting question and I don't have an answer. You are going to Vegas for this, so already spending extra $$$ to attend. I know a lot of us here, me included, don't want or expect gifts from people coming to our DWs, so maybe this also applies? Also, given that they have been married for 10 years, they probably don't need typical registry stuff. I like what you are suggesting, although maybe a little less sexy? But you know them, so if that works, go for it. Or maybe a GC for a restaurant or something back home? If I decided to get something, I would go more on the consumable/experience side, rather than the physical gift side of things.
  21. I realize this is an older post, but... We were originally thinking of heading to Belize after our wedding. But it's either about 9 hours by land/boat or about $850 CAD one-way from CUN to BZE for the two of us (we were planning to fly home from BZE). Ouch. Plus we were going to use Aeroplan points to fly home, and to get decent connections we needed to leave a day earlier than I would have liked (or faced 30 hours in travel time). So... poking around today, I found a direct flight from CUN to San Jose, Costa Rica. It's on a Mexican "budget" airline called Volaris. Has anyone use this airline or gone to Costa Rica from Cancun? Flight is 2.5 hours and will cost us about $750 return CUN/SJO. Then we can fly back home direct from CUN. Overall, it will cost us about $100 more to go to CR as compared to Belize (if we were to fly from CUN), but we also get an extra day due to better schedules and we don't have to burn our points. I'm curious if anyone has done this before. Or has any general recommendations for CR. We'll have 6 full days, arriving and departing from SJO. Would love both beach time & some jungle/volcano exploring.
  22. Hi everyone, I was given a $20 GC to Shutterfly that I'm not going to use. It's from David's Bridal. Expires Sept 27, 2015. I will send the redemption code to the first person who responds. Not sure that it would be much help to Canadian brides as it reads "Shipments to Canada are subject to taxes, duties or other customs fees, payable by you upon delivery." (You'll probably pay more in shipping, taxes & duty than you'll save!) More info here: www.shutterfly.com/davidsbridalcard. Hope this helps someone out! Erin
  23. P.S. Sorry to hear the wedding dreams/nightmares are back. The brain is a really messed up place sometimes!
  24. @@TinkerSofi Hahaha... can so relate to the gremlin comment. I pretty much shave, pluck, wax or laser every part of my body and when it gets out of control I feel gross. But it will be worth it and you will be gorgeous for your big day
