Air Transat Refund Amount - Help!
snswedding2016 replied to krystalball's topic in Canadian Destination Wedding Group
@@krystalball we used Transat as well but our contract was a bit different. We received $1000 for every 16th passenger (they had to be travelling the full 7 day package though and our land only rooms obviously didn't count). To me it sounds like you should be getting the $1089 for every 16th guest.- 22 replies

Azul Fives By Karisma Brides 2016
snswedding2016 replied to hirvine83's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
@@KBrown We arrived on a Wednesday, onsite coordinator meeting on Thursday and wedding on Saturday. Our meeting was pretty short and sweet. I made a set up document that went through every detail of the set up for every wedding event we had and sent it to the onsite team and my WC in Miami before we left for Mexico. Our meeting we just verified all the info and added a couple of little things. I think our entire meeting was 45 min! Just a heads up that they will come by the day of the wedding with the weather report and you'll need to make a decision about going ahead with your plans or moving to the back up. They make you sign a waiver and you have to decide usually by 12pm. I thought they only did this if there was a high chance of rain but they come by regardless. I wasn't really prepared for this so thought I would let you know. I wanted my husband to weigh in on the decision so I had to get my bridesmaids to track him down and get him to the spa and look at the other way so he wouldn't see me haha!- 110 replies

Azul Fives By Karisma Brides 2016
snswedding2016 replied to hirvine83's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
@@KBrown do you have your WC's direct extension in Miami? I would call that and be persistent, they have to prioritize your wedding since it is coming up soon. If you can't get her directly or feel like you're leaving messages without a response I would call back to the main wedding department line for Azul Fives and speak to someone directly there (even if it isn't your personal WC). The live chat like @@ashhtayy mentioned is great - I had a lot of success with it getting info I needed quickly.- 110 replies

haha I probably would have preferred not to be dressed up but my girls were so excited to go all out and since I didn't ask them to help much with the planning, I didn't want to take it away from them. lol! I just took one for the team and let them put me in a veil, sash, boa...oh and there were penis straws and shot glasses ! @ is right though...people just have a radar for bachelorette parties though...they always find you!

@@vancouverpetunia sorry to hear that you are having wedding guest booking issues. That's so annoying especially now that you're getting close! I'm sure it will all work itself out - somehow it always does! You are in great shape - you'll have all of those items checked off in no time!! @@Wafflesmom I LOVE reading your review! It sounds like you had such an amazing time! Can't wait for the rest of it. Reminds me I need to finish mine too!! Oh and that mannequin head....SO creepy and somehow more disturbing that you found it by the fake ruins lol! So random but I'm sure one of those funny moments of the trip that you love looking back on. Those are always my favourite travel memories...the completely weird/random/bizarre ones

@@krystalball you're getting really close!!! maybe we need a march date and an april date!! @@Meandhim @ love the April anniversaries!!! Perian - you guys got engaged in Oct too right? AND our wedding dates are so close together - LOVE it!

I can't do the 18th either or the 1st (it's my anniversary with Sean - 5 years!)...but if the majority can do either date you guys need to have several drinks for me! would March 11th work?

@@deecol After all the stress I'm so so happy that you had a wonderful shower and you were pampered by all your girls (and your man)! @@yycbride2016 I can't believe you leave this weekend!! You are so close!! Everything looks amazing and your pile of stuff is nothing, I definitely brought a lot more than that and we didn't pay anything extra for luggage! (You can tell Kyle that if it makes him feel better! ) I agree with @ that sometimes resort make up can be hit and miss...are there good reviews for the spa from Grand Sirenis? I lucked out in that department...our spa was amazing and used mac products. Maybe check to see what products they have (if you have time - this week is going to fly by). If you go with the spa at the resort I would definitely upgrade to airbrush. That will definitely help prolong your make up for sure! Can't wait to see how it all turns out! As we all say now...breathe, soak it in and enjoy your wedding week!!

@@Kjmenden I have to say I'm quite appalled by your post on @@ashhtayy's personal planning thread but for the sake of etiquette on this forum I will keep a lot of my personal opinions to myself. I really don't understand the purpose of your "review" being posted on someone's planning thread. All it is doing is causing panic for those already booked, planned and excited about their big day. As mentioned before it is essentially a rant (with not a lot to back it up) that offers no suggestions or solutions for future brides except to not book there. I guess future brides are supposed to ignore the numerous (real) positive reviews on Azul Fives and trust this negative one based on....? I'm not quite sure. Every story has 2 sides. I was married at Azul Fives one month later and pretty much had the exact opposite experience in every aspect. We had the best time and truly loved not just the wedding but the resort itself. No, I'm not an inside blogger, I do not work for Karisma or Azul Fives and yes, I was a real bride who had an amazing wedding there (check out my planning thread if you need proof). I'm not alone and there have been several recent brides who have loved it on this forum (like @@TinkerSofi who was married there in August). We also attended the BDR and had a fantastic time...it seems to me that you maybe had unrealistic expectations that were not clarified at the BDR or in your pre-planning stages. I am sorry that you did not have a great experience and that it got in the way of enjoying your big day. You are entitled to your own opinion but I don't think it's fair to try and scare off future brides by posting it on their personal threads.

@@Rubyy I don't know if they have spray tanning but I agree with @@ashhtayy about it rubbing off. I would definitely recommend upgrading to airbrush for your make up. It was pretty hot on our wedding day and I didn't sweat it off at all. Like @@sassylouxx we used an outside photographer as well and paid the outside vendor fee. The fee was expensive but definitely worth it - we absolutely loved our photographers!! We used Photos in Cancun - they were amazing! They were actually guests at our wedding we got along so well. We got the smaller package and invited them to join us for the dinner and reception. @@KBrown I didn't use the DJs (we made our own playlist and just rented the sound equipment) but I know several brides have and loved them!- 110 replies

@@Rubyy I would go with the basic Always and Forever package and just add on from there. You can always add on the elements of the pure glamour package that you love separately without having to have everything that the package includes. You could also pick and choose from different packages (ex. chandelier from pure glamour and chair covers from vintage elegance). It allows you to have more flexibility and will definitely be cheaper for you especially if you're only using it for the ceremony. Happy planning!!- 110 replies

Azul Fives By Karisma Brides 2016
snswedding2016 replied to hirvine83's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
@@KBrown yes they have an office in Plaza Fives (near the lobby) where you can take a look at all the excursion options. They have the selection you would expect to find at any company that offers excursions in Mexico. You can also negotiate with them on site. We did the snorkeling with turtles, cenote and Tulum excursion - it was originally 98 US (I think) and we got them down to 88 US/pp with our group size. Some of our other guests did Coba and Chichen itza and most of our group went into Playa del Carmen one day. Also a tip for those thinking about getting spa services. The Vassa Spa is amazing for hair and make up but also for massages (we had a couple get massages at the spa) but they are very expensive. My cousins found a couple of places down the beach (technically off Azul Fives property but just right beside) that offered much cheaper massages and they were all really impressed with the service. The massage therapist offered to do a free demo for people to see what it would be like. I think we had 10 guests who ended up going to get massages here. I'll confirm the what the price was and let you all know.- 110 replies

General Q - How Much Time Between Wedding And Coordinating Mtg?
snswedding2016 replied to beachbeth's topic in Newbies!!
@@beachbeth We had our onsite meeting two days before our wedding but we could have done it the day before and it would have been completely fine. I would suggest, if you have time to create a document that goes through all of the details of your wedding and send it to the coordinator ahead of time. I did this and it really made our meeting pretty short and sweet. The onsite team just asked a couple of questions and then made sure we hadn't changed anything since I sent the doc. It went through every event we had for the wedding, what we were getting through the resort, what we brought from home, how we wanted it set up (with photos displaying decor set up).- 6 replies
