Congrats on your legal wedding! Wishing you all the best for your destination wedding!! We are also having a symbolic ceremony in Mexico and that will be my wedding day and the day we celebrate as our anniversary. Because we don't want to take away from that day, because I still want to feel like a bride leading up to that day, and because I want the first time we say any vows or exchange rings to be in front of all our close friends and family, we actually are doing the legal part the day after we get back from Mexico. It'll be simple with no one else but us (we'll get random witnesses) and we won't make a big deal out of it.

How long did you date before enagaged?

3.5 years for us! -
Hi Ladies - My fiance and I are going to the June brides dress rehearsal in a couple of weeks. So excited!! Any pieces of advice? Anything we should absolutely look into or ask?? We've already booked our photographer (not a Lomas one) do you think it makes sense to see if they want to meet face to face? Thanks! Daisy

@@Ybonilla - things are going well. We have a lot of the big stuff done. Invites are going out in the next week or 2 and the search for bridesmaid dresses is on. Now it's really just looking for decor and welcome bag ideas. Though I'm finding it hard to make any real decisions on those till I have a better idea of how many guest we'll have. We are currently at 21 adults and 3 children. For the sky deck, I'm thinking simple too. Maybe a couple white sheers around the gazebo and maybe some pomander balls on the chairs lining the aisle. Hoping that when I go to the BDR in June I'll get inspired and have better decor ideas.

Avoiding Foreign Transaction Fees
Janjin replied to smileitseb's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I haven't tried wiring cash but I specifically got a capital one card because of the no foreign transaction fees. That and the lovely travel rewards that we'll use for the actual honeymoon. How about using paypal? Are there fees associated to that (not a huge paypal user)? -
Very cool @smileitseb I'm trying to figure out a way to do this without a guest having to take the pictures.

Who Gets An Invitation
Janjin replied to Soon2bmzbrooks's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I've always read that you're supposed to send invitiations to everyone you sent a save the date to because you don't know if situations have changed and people can make it. But you know you're guest list best and will know if anyone will be offended if they don't get an actual invite.- 12 replies

@@smileitseb - what's your plan for the photo guest book? I'd love an actual photo booth but it may be scrapped from the budget. Do guests take their own pics and add it to the book and sign it?? Great find by the way!!

Hi ladies! I had a very productive wedding weekend - ordered our invitations and bought my DRESS!!! It's gorgeous and I feel absolutely amazing in it! Am so excited!! Can’t wait for it to come in. This whole wedding thing definitely feels a lot more real now – if that makes sense!! Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

Thanks @@murmel @@carrieandsam! Great suggestions. I didn't even think to make sure they are allowed onsite. I know they've shot there before but you're right I should get it confirmed and in writing from Azul. And because everyone here is so helpful - a few more questions while I wait for my WC to get back to me Do you know how much are the children entrees for private receptions? Has anyone booked a s'mores bonfire as their welcome party? Do you have the prices? Anyone thinking of having a photobooth? I absolutely photobooths at weddings! Thanks!

@@carrieandsam - great question - I'm trying to figure out the same thing. What does your wedding timeline look like? My ceremony is scheduled for 4. I'd really like to have pictures for the following events: - bride and groom getting ready - first look - ceremony - family/friends portraits - first dance / parent dances - speech/toasts - some of the partying Seems like a lot once I think of it.

@@Ybonilla - my parents are from Puerto Rico but I was born and raised in the NY area. Have you gotten your booking link yet? So exciting. I really do like the preset table decor but with expecting about 50-60 guests at $300 per table it's way over budget. Made my first dress shopping appointment today so I'm sooooo excited! November will be here before we know it!

@@Ybonilla - Yes, we have both the sky terrace for the ceremony and Plaza Zavas for the reception confirmed! Very excited. I'll be using the spa to get my hair and make up done. I speak spanish so communicating what I want shouldn't be a problem - fingers crossed. Yea, I don't think the bridal suite will work for me either. I have a maid of honor, bridesmaid, mom, godmother, who knows who else who will want to get ready with me. I honestly am just starting to think about decor. Hard to really make any decisions since I'm not exactly sure how many people are coming. I'm thinking the ceremony will be simple with maybe some hanging flowers on the gazebo. I definitely want to do the paper laterns over the dance floor for the reception. For the tables, I'm leaning towards vases with floating candles and voltives. I'll probably wait until the BDR in June before making any real decor decisions. That'll give me 4.5 months to plan it out. I am starting to get texts from friends and family saying they're all booked!!! Love those messages Have you gotten your flights already??

@@Ybonilla - so exciting! I have my room block done last week and save the dates went out yesterday. Already have 2 couples who booked their rooms! Have you picked your ceremony and reception locations already? I'm actually trying to get into the April BDR if not then will definitely be at the June one. I'm a very visual person too so I really need to see things in order to get the decor ideas straight in my head. Next up are photographers and a dj.

Thanks ladies. So per my travel agent there is $100 deposit for each room, which is fine - did you guys have the same. But when you guys increased did you have to pay the $100 per room for the additional rooms? I just emailed my agent but figured I'd ask here too. My friend who got married at the Hard Rock in DR this summer said she didn't have to do the deposit for the additional rooms. Just trying to gauge what my initial payout is going to look like. How many guests are guys inviting/expecting? We currently have about 105 on the guest list including kids but are expecting about 50 - 60. @@linaco80 - my agent told me the same thing. So I want to be careful how many rooms I block.

Hi Ladies - I'm mostly been lurking since getting engaged but it's official I'm confirmed for our wedding at Azul Sensatori on 11/20/15. So excited!! Time to go back and re-read this and the official thread and make notes. Next it's time to finalize the room block and pick invitations. If you had to pick 1 key piece of advice to planning a wedding at Azul - what would that be? Any other November 2015 Brides??
