@@jaden1976 when we were there for the bdr there was a beach wedding and right before they used a machine to move all the seaweed so it was clean for the wedding. The smell is natural for the Gulf of Mexico and the carribean. If your guest are arriving a few days before there should be time to get accustomed to it. If this is something you can't get over you can always have it on the sky deck. Your guest can always hangout up there before the wedding and it's actually more private then the beach.

@@Aliyedwinramirez I remember one of the brides that married in October only mentioned the mugginess for the wedding festivities but didn't seem to bother anyone while at the pools. It's suppose to be an El Niño year so maybe there will be less rain this year since that's closer to the end of the hurricane season. Based on average temps may is most similar so maybe some of the may brides could comment on how the weather was for their weddings this year. I'm getting married two weeks after you so I'm optimistic this dry El Niño year continues????

Doesn't surprise me that American Airlines did that. We are using them too-using our miles to get there. Oh well less to worry about while on-board. Enjoy your time down there! On a different note when I was down there for the BdR I took some notes of the drink specials they had down there at the poolside bars but I lost my sheet. I wanted to make a drink menu of our favorite drinks served in the welcome bag. By chance does anybody remember some of their specialty drinks? The only one I can remember is the malibu and coke blended---someone just happened to order it when I was there.

@@BecomingaRiggio wow I am completely flabbergasted and speechless that they did that. Impressed that you are still accommodating them. I am sure azul will make the right arrangements plus I liked @@LaurenR idea. All you can do is make everything perfect for those that RSVP ahead of time. Best of luck and congrats on the future wedding

Hi Ladies, I have a couple of things! First I just received word that Denise (head of wedding department for Azul sensatori) is no longer with the company. Seems to be Bernice Hernandez has taken over. I don't remember a Bernice but I am sure she is great. 2nd the girls that are asking for email to the salon I have been contacting Denise directly with making reservations at the spa among other questions I wanted to know about the resort. I will email those asking for it via PM. 3rd does anybody have suggestions for decorating for beach building #3. We are having the rehearsal dinner there Friday night. Center pieces, linen and everything on the table is taken care of I'm just wondering about what we should do for lighting. So far we have five tiki lanterns we are lining up btwn the table setup and the water but I thought about wrapping Christmas lights around the palm trees. I asked Bernice if we could do this and she said yes but we would need extension cords. Is there anybody here that could give me some suggestions? Lastly for our welcome party we are having a s'mores bonfire at the the zocalo beach. It's to the right of the gazebo on the beach. I'm not sure if I should add lighting or there is other ambiance lighting that I don't need any additional lighting. Let me know if anybody has suggestions. Thanks to all in advance. Carrie @@Janjin I would def recommend meeting with your photographer! We used the BdR as an opportunity to see the resort as our guest will see it and make notes of awkward moments that we could help our guest with a better experience. I really paid attention to all the locations for all of our events for decorating purposes. I took many pics and measurements. Before I went down there I kept a going list of questions or things I wanted to check out while I was down there. Most importantly treat the BdR like a short vacation and really enjoy the resort. Sam and I had so much fun. Also make sure to go to Le Chique and the wave lounge Friday night! They have the hookah and live music. We absolutely love it!

@@StacyPaul the beach was something my mom and I really worried about but in the end when Sam and I went on our BdR it didn't really bother me just because we hung out by the swim up bars since the pool is more relaxing then being in the ocean regardless of where you are. Most guest will venture to the pools and swim up bars and that was the case when we were down there for the BdR. However there were people laying out on the beds more than I would think but the area was groomed and the seaweed is picked up everyday. I had a family reunion in destin Florida where the beaches are beautiful and all the family hung out in the pool area. So that seems to be the case everywhere you go. If you have snorkelers in your group the tour guide up front has snorkel tours that take groups out past all the seaweed to coral and it's beautiful. Just like all the others have said, the service and the resort is absolutely breathtaking. Before going to the BdR I was a mess and meeting the staff there completely calmed and reassured me that everything would be good. Plus Karisma is one of the better hotels for weddings in that area and that's saying something since the area is the number one destination wedding spot in the world.

Wow @@BecomingaRiggio the centerpiece is awesome! I love that table number, where did you get? I'm thinking of a wooden table number and paint gold to match the table charges or wrapping a ribbon with number on it around the vase I'm using. I'll be working on that in the next couple of months:) @@ACJCWed I'm telling all my guests the ceremony starts at 530 when it really starts at 6. That was suggested since pple tend to arrive late. Plus we hired the female violinists to start at 545 so we want our guest to take advantage of that plus the view of the skydeck. Also I'm having a cocktail ceremony beforehand.

I'm having my guest receive them beginning of May and rsvp is due June 15. That gives me two months to get menu together and sent in. I believe we have to have menu selected 60days in advance. @@ACJCWed Coming back from the BdR totally relaxed me and gave me full confidence in the hotel making my day special. It helped me with decor ideas. Also getting to know the grounds and how the hotel is laid out helped me better answer my guests questions on which room to pick. It helped to try out the resort as a guest so I could view the resort from the view point of my guest and give them helpful travel hints to make their experience better. Overall I'm glad I did it since my biggest question was how will my guest know to go from the cocktail party to ceremony then ceremony to reception. I have a map for my guest that I labeled but I'm sure we will have guest that won't look at it. Hopefully that answers some questions.

@linaco thank you for the photo idea. I'm not sure where to take some but have ideas like the stairs from the lobby going down to the main property. Our reception location , bridges going over the pools, sky deck. The shack sounds awesome but do you have to go by the palapa yoga center? That's where our pre ceremony cocktail party is. Is there a way to avoid that area so no one would see us?
