lol Hi Kim D oh that is a pretty good savings still. For the 2 free trips do you just using that savings towards the weddings or dividing it among guests? Glad the flight ended up working out, sat-sat i'm sure your guests are still happy about as you get home and still have the sunday to relax before going back to work. just looked at your resort it looks amazing! Great choice! out of my price budget though. ahh its going to be so hard narrowing down a resort..

thats a really good point, thanks. I would probably do something similar but wondering if the people at the dw ceremony will think something is off if the bride and groom and witness dont sign legal forms?? Or is there a some kind of certificate that we would still sign for symbolic?

Yes that would be really special to have someone close to you do the ceremony! Do people generally tell guests that they aren't getting legally married at their destination or just some ? I know this is totally personal preference but I'm totally torn on the subject..

Hi great photos! just wondering where this ceremony is on the resort? I've stayed at this resort and the beach although very beautiful did not seem very private for a ceremony and I've seen other pics of ceremonies at barcelo that looked quite private but not sure what area of the resort complex it is? thanks

Lol but was thinking of making a cute diy label to put over a wine bottle to try to surprise them in a cute way saying "will you be my bridesmaid!" ?? But not decided yet.. One if my to be bridesmaids is overseas so we can only chat on Skype or face time so I've been trying to think of a fun way to ask her..?

I am also thinking of just the symbolic in Mexico and doing the legal part before the trip. Does anyone know if your doing a symbolic ceremony can we decide what we want the person doing the ceremony to say? Or can we even have our own friend/family member do the ceremony? Pretty new to all this so Not sure if this is resort specific as well...

also looking for more info on the new dreams sands resort. The reviews and pictures on trip advisor looked pretty good. Did you end up booking this hotel for your wedding?

Hi Thanks for the info about the travel agent, I think it would be nice to have someone local that i can sit down with and that my guest can easily call as well. Was she able to get you perks as well? I keep hearing about people getting free rooms, and upgrades and special perks with their TA's... I'm not sure when we want to get married yet, at first I was thinking end of nov.2015 but not sure if that will be enough time to figure everything out and let my guests have enough notice?? but i really like the idea of November as I've always seen really great prices at that time.

Congrats! I've been to the barceo maya beach before it was renovated and loved it! such an amazing beach!! How is it now? what did they change?? Are you getting married on the beach or a different wedding spot?? I have been contemplating the barcelo as well for our wedding, but wasn't sure that the resort was done its reno's, so glad i came across your post. Are all your guests staying in the maya beach resort? Thats what would worry me is if I booked one resort and the guests were spread among the other 5 resorts as its all pretty big. I have also been thinking about end of nov.2015 as well, do you know when the flight info comes out??? Just recently engaged so haven't really done much research yet, but was on this website a lot before making an account and now engaged and excited to get this going! I've been invited to many destination weddings and all of my Canadian bride friends have done it differently and it all worked out great for us that went. Some skipped the save the dates but had a facebook group/event with rough dates and then updates and later the formal invite once flight info came out.., or a wedding website or emailing everyone(which seemed like a lot more work).
