We are doing the less responsible thing lol and going for 2 weeks and splurging! 1 week at our resort with the guests and a 2nd week in Tulum at a beach front hotel that has huts that are literally steps from the sand , that has been my dream! But our first week is not that much only approx 1700 each and we had enough people book that we got a free package so it works for us.

Hi everyone I haven't been on here much lately but just starting to read back all the previous reviews in this thread which are sooo helpful and awesome! Congrats to all past bride& grooms and thank you!!!!!! We are super exited for our wedding January 19,2016. We have already over 40 people booked! not sure the exact number lol should probably check that. We are staying at the tropical and ceremony at the Azul beach. Right now our WC Aurea has just sent us menu options, we are doing the strawberry package and are stuck on what to pick.. I'm assuming this is a plated dinner and not a buffet? Also we are unsure if we want reception on the beach.. It looks so pretty but is it windy on the beach in the evenings??? What have past brides experienced with beach receptions?? OR can we just pick a location by one of the grills or pools? My WC hasn't given us the choices yet. Anyone else have Aurea for their WC?? Thanks and looking forward to any advice you might have! Yay for 2016 brides ! We're booked for Jan.19/2016 barcelo tropical resort. @@krystalball love your dress!! I just bought mine this past Saturday! Mine is similar to yours with the lace but with straps and some jewels. So exciting! We have 36 guests already booked for our wedding can't believe it , have just sent out homemade stds so far!

That would be very stressful, for sure. A lot of these forecasts are usually way off! wishing you sunshine on your big day! As others have said it's unlikely that it will rain or even that it will rain enough to ruin a ceremony. It would still be beautiful on a beach with an ocean back drop with sun or rain and all your loved ones will stand by you either way. I was just at a wedding in February in puerto Vallarta and it lightly rained during the ceremony and of course we all rather have sun but it was still beautiful and the bride was happy she didn't move it indoors. Whoever mentioned on here earlier about dancing in the rain that could not be more true! At my friends wedding We danced in the pouring rain on the beach and had the best time and the pictures turned out great(photographers can work with anything)!! However, The Mayan area doesn't have rain that often or if it does, only for very short periods like 5 minutes so I wouldn't move anything indoors if I was you. But I am sure your day will be perfect, congrats!

Hi @@CaroV I'm also doing Kaylas BBG guide, congrats on getting to week 11! I'm only on week 3 of the first guide! I know what you mean, it is hard to juggle everything! Lately from wedding planning, exercise, work and daily life I feel like I have no time for much else. But I am enjoying this workout program and hope that now that spring is here will be able to get outside and do more fun outdoor activities. I just joined an ultimate frisbee team once a week and plan to do biking or waking outside in addition to the guides! Since your almost done the guide have you thought about joining a team or boot camp type thing to keep you going? That way you will be forced to show up and do the workouts or games lol or at least that's how I see it. Sometimes I find it so hard to keep up with the BBG workouts, like this week I missed doing half of the week and got really lazy so now I'm making myself redo the week lol! I'm doing the BBG with one of my bridesmaids so we are motivating each other so we can both have beach bodies next winter! I have 9 months too my wedding, when is yours ?! Kim

Hi! These are amazing! Do they do just the passport invites or boarding pass invtes as well?? We are interested in getting ours done for us as well, as I am not big into diy stuff, i did my own std's on publisher and that was enough! haha Also how long were they working on your invites for? Also, dumb question maybe, but the barcode on the boarding pass rsvp, is that a real working bar code?? lol if so that would be awesome. thanks! Kim

Hi Jessica, choosing a resort is the hard part, but thats great you have narrowed it down to 2 places! I was looking for months and just recently settled on the Barcelo Maya Tropical. I agree with everything @@snswedding2016 said, amazing private beach, great for photos, and lots for everyone to do, and that the packages are a bit over priced and may not be for everyone but definately a great resort! We ended up choosing the barcelo as the price for guests and ourselves to travel there was the best for everyones budget, we have stayed at the barcelo maya beach section before and just loved it! You will definately find a lot of info on both resorts that you are looking at. I do not know much the luxury bahia resort though, but have heard good things about it. Hi everyone! Hope everyone's planning is doing great! We have finally picked our resort and our set our wedding date! SO excited, getting married jan.19/2016 at Barcelo maya tropical, finally settled on barcelo about a month ago! Have been engaged since september so looking at resorts for months it is so nice to finally have that picked and moving on with more wedding plans. So far have sent out save the dates, and have 5 people booked already yay lol! Went dress shopping once but haven't found anything yet.. Hope everyone is doing well, would love to hear what everyone else is up to with their wedding plans!? Kim

I was wondering about the RSVP thing as well....Anyone not doing an RSVP? I was thinking of that originally, but now were that were not inviting a huge group, I was just thinking of saying-' email us for RSVP' but nothing formal. Thoughts ?? Also when do you typically have to get final numbers to the wc? After reading on all the posts on this forum I was thinking you could prob give the final #s on the pre-wedding meeting when we arrive??

Hi guys! how is everyones planning coming along?? @@pykx82 I know what you mean I have been waiting a while for prices from TAs as well. And I'm horrible at planning and have nothing planned yet lol except that we want to get married jan 2016 in the Riviera maya. I first talked to a TA here in Winnipeg and got no where, then contacted Laurie Lee that was suggested by a lot of users here and I've been emailing her since end of December with the resorts I'm interested in and she has been pretty good but I still haven't gotten any quotes from here and she never called me back?! which I thought was great as so many have recommended her.... SO now last week I have contacted Isabel Muchado at Algonquin Travel here in Winnipeg as @@Smellsey recommended and so far she has been great and she was hoping to get quotes for me today! Its been a frustrating start forsure as I feel like I have been going around in circles talking to travel agents and looking at resorts for the past 3 months and have no date set or venue... but as everyone says on here that it always works out so I am staying positive. Did you girls go to the wedding show? I was supposed to go but something came up in the family so I missed it. @@pykx82 I am actually going to a wedding this feb in peurto Vallarta, were staying at the Now Amber and her wedding is at las caletas which I have been to before and it is amazing. The you will love the dreams or riu resorts for sure and I heard that the beach is so much nicer up there then closer to downtown pv. Were hoping to check out dreams vm while we are there since you can dine there for free while staying at the Now, so I will let you know that goes. But if you haven't looked into wedding at Las Caletas you should! @@calgarybride2015 woohoo and congrats in advance on your wedding ! @@jackiet2016 just saw this post, excited you are going to the barcelo, we went there 2 years ago, it was amazing, love the resort and the best beach I have seen in mexico! We looked into weddings here as well, but I just really wanted to go somewhere I haven't been before. However I think it is still an option for us. What locations did you choose? I don't have any suggestions about wording, haven't thought that far ahead yet, but my friends that had DW in the past just put up a quick message on a facebook event they made to quickly get across the booking details and everyone was cool with that. So that is probably what I will do and then add to refer to the wedding website for more details, and then send out invites whenever you like there are no rules and people appreciate the more notice the better I think.

Hi everyone! just recently started looking at this resort for my jan 2016 wedding. A couple of questions about the beach ceremony, can you choose to do it on a more private section and not use the white chuppah thing(not sure what its called)? also I've looked at so many resorts now its hard to keep everything straight, the wedding packages I saw on the grand palladium website seem a little too much then I'm wanting, ie not interested in the cocktail hour, just want a ceremony and private dinner somewhere. Is there a complimentary package like some of the other resorts have where you can just customize and add on things?? thanks in advance! Kim

Hi all just started looking at azul for an option my wedding really like this resort however I dreamed of a beach wedding and the beach ceremony location doesn't look great or private right in between all the loungers . Does anyone know if you can have the ceremony at a different spot on the beach? I would be fine with even having it without the canopy thing as the ocean is a beautiful backdrop enough. Thanks in advance!

thanks for the reply! I finally heard back from the now amber concierge and they said it is only $65 for the day which is all we need not the whole day and night, which is probably more like 150 as you mentioned.

I agree that most people will not know about the welcome bags but either way it will be appreciated. I plan to do just a few small things and possibly pay for a group catamaran snorkeling activity as the wedding favor/gift. I have only been to 1 dw before and was pleasantly surprised with the oot bags, although we never used most of the items while on the trip.. but I really enjoyed the personal letter they wrote to all the guests thanking everyone it was very heartfelt and that means a lot! @@jackielemman where did the catamaran take you for snorkelling?

Great info! Was just looking at this resort today for possible wedding there I'm all over the place looking at Mexico and st Lucia lol. But the ceremony locations and the beach at this resort just looks amazing Which package did you choose? Do you know where the private dinner locations are? I saw the packages on their wedding website but didn't know how many people it included so thanks for this post!

Thanks kmk and tinkersofi for the replies, Ya I thought it was weird as I haven't given out my email and definitely not my phone #, but they have sent me an email and one phone call with voice mail left as I didn't answer, so not sure how they got my number?! The only company I've contacted was wright travel agency so I wondered if maybe they passed my email along to the other company.

has anyone used or is using "Bloom" travel agency? I have been getting contacted by them apparently its a canadian destination wedding travel agency, but i've never heard of them or seen anything on the forum about it.. thanks
