We opted to pay the outside vendor fee for our resort as well and are going with Octavio Montes. We met with him 2 weeks ago when we were in mexico and got a great vibe from him. His prices are relatively decent compared to others and he is offering a 10% discount right now. He does Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen and Cancun. We hired Octavio Montes for our photography. Are you paying the outside vendor fee or having them stay as a guest at the hotel for 2 nights? We are very fortunate as we are friends with 2 hairdressers and a make up artist and they are coming to the wedding and as a gift to us will do the hair and make up! Our ceremony is at 4:30pm with our reception starting at 7 (for 3 hours). We aren't going to add any time or hire a DJ as we are just going to use an i-pod with our own playlists (we have a DJ friend that can drum up something for us ahead of time and we will just move a table out of the way) and then head to Jaguars after. Are you doing centrepieces or welcome bags at all? I know we will do welcome bags, but I haven't decided if I will do centrepieces. We are coming from Vancouver, BC

We have Lilian as ours..what about you? We are just at the reception stage right now (step 3). We have hired an outside photographer as we met with the resort photographer and it was not a good fit for us. What stage are you at?

Our ceremony is at Playa Azul and then our reception will be in one of the meeting rooms. We are expecting over 60 people, so it just got to costly to do a beach reception. We arrive 2 days after your wedding!

We got engaged in February 2014 and by May had booked our wedding for the Barcelo Maya Resort for next May 21, 2015. We just got back from a quick vacation there to make sure it was all we wanted and we can't wait to go back with all our friends and family for our wedding! We will be getting married at the newly renovated Barcelo Beach property and love that it will now be a stay at 1 play at 4!
