  1. Our TA said the trip has to be paid for 45 days out. So for our May 15th wedding, its towards the ends of March. I figure that still gives us about two months if I make it in the beginning of March…maybe Ill make the date a little early, two months out seems like too much of short notice for me to have an exact count of guests!
  2. I listened to some of his other music and I love it all too! My finance does not speak spanish, but I figure there is english in it too, and he knows the original version. Plus for a destination wedding in Mexico?!? I have to do something with at least SOME spanish in it!!
  3. May I ask how far ahead of time your booking deadline should be? I see yours is in OCT, for your Nov 2015 wedding. We were going to make ours in either feb or early march of 2015, for our may 2015 wedding. Is this too late?
  4. Welcome!!! I am shocked to see a groom on here, you are setting a great example for all of our grooms!
  5. Originally we were going to do a country song called "deeper than the holler" by randy travis (we are country folk), but recently I have been introduced to the song "stand by me" by prince royce (which I love the original stand by me, and this version is bilingual, WHICH I LOVE), so this may be our new choice.
  6. My fiancé and I are traveling a few days before all of our guests…which kind of sucks because anything I want down there when we get there (at least the OOT bags to assemble) is all stuff we will have to bring with US
  7. Well I am glad I am not the only one it is showing up in German for! I was just waiting to see when it would change back to normal…but it has been at least two weeks so I guess I might have to e-mail somebody!
  8. Oh my I would be freaking out! My wedding is 7 months away and already I am trying to have every single detail planned out!
  9. Seriously my fiancé is SO shy, he wants to do vows without a microphone so no one can hear but me (hehe that is not going to happen though). He knows cerveza too! He could say "Yo quiero un azul cerveza in el bano con Celeste". (pardon that bad written spanish!) Translation: I want a blue beer in the bathroom with Celeste. Sounds pretty romantic to me! lol I was just thinking I would defiantly do vows in both languages, to me that is what really would count to your guests.
  10. Question for anyone that has checked out the Barcelo in Riviera Maya website lately…I have been checking for two weeks and for some reason the trips and excursion page is in German! I have checked it on my phone, and on two different computers, and even though "english" is selected as the language on top, the trips and excursions page ONLY is in German. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just showing up on my internet connection?? Thanks!
  11. @@TinkerSofi yes, although my fiancé does know a little spanish. Like "azul" and "bano" LOL too bad those are not words used during a wedding
  12. Do most airlines have places to put your dress and husbands suit? I am flying with frontier, and I have looked on their website but do not see anything listed regarding dresses. I can't even imagine how much luggage we are going to have. (Just for 10 days of clothes alone, I normally have one full giant suitcase…and thats just for me!) Let alone bringing a whole wedding along!
  13. I just checked out apriltwentyfive.com and they look awesome, and everything is so perfectly explained making it easy for me to understand….but a bit too pricy for me unfortunately…but any other brides looking check their site out!
  14. I know I will have to carry on my wedding dress (as this is not something I will part with, I am too paranoid something will happen!) but what other things have previous brides carried on the plane? We will be bring OOT bags, and lots of decor, is it better to pack all this or split it between family to carry on the plane? Thank you!
  15. I think even if there are a few people that don't actually "understand" every word that is said, will still enjoy your wedding. Our wedding ceremony is going to be in English (although I do speak spanish because my step family is all from Chile, so my immediate family that is going would actually probably prefer the ceremony to be in spanish.) I went with English because it is mine and my fiances first language, and that is what the majority of our guests will understand.
  16. I have never even heard of Sunwing, is this a Canadian airline? Lots of Canada brides on here!
  17. I don't know where those specific pictures were taken, but as far as privacy goes, we are getting married at Playa Azul, and having our reception there. It is looked a little past Maya Beach, and from what I have read that is the most private spot you can get married. I have also read that Coral Beach is pretty private.
  18. Do most brides with destination weddings send our pre travel packages? I have all the info on our wedding website, and I will be putting a lot in OOT bags (including more resort info that applies after they arrive).
  19. Unless I find them for cheap, I will be DIY just about everything but my invites. (I did my own STD's which were VERY time consuming, a lot of small details. So for invites, I am just going to buy them off a website. And to save money I will probably DIY everything else!)
  20. I have looked all over Etsy at wedding invitations to order. Are there any other websites that are great for getting wonderful wedding invitations (on a budget of course)? I am finding the Etsy system a bit difficult going through each individual seller when it is coming to their prices…so I wanted to check out some other reliable sources. Thanks!
  21. I love this one on Etsy, it says "I flew to Mexico and all I got was a damn koozie" There are tons of other wedding custom koozies here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/185545847/mexico-destination-wedding-koozies?ref=shop_home_active_8
