  1. Story of my life @@TinkerSofi! I just graduated college in March, and we are saving for a house and a wedding at the same time!
  2. I didn't know there was such a thing as veil weights either. Where do you buy them? A wedding dress shop?
  3. @@TammyWright What do you do to lose weight? Exercise? Diet?
  4. I have never gotten anything waxed!! Is that crazy? lol I seem to be the only one?
  5. We are having our destination wedding in Mexico, Riviera Maya to be exact. If you are having a symbolic ceremony, legality won't be an issue…but if you do chose to go to the legal route in a foreign country…make sure you check the requirements. (Mexico for example has a lot of requirements to get married legally there.) There are a lot of great resorts in Mexico! Are you wanting to get married at a resort? And do you have a date set??
  6. That is so exciting, congrats! I would start with finding a travel agent, they are really helpful with assisting in finding a resort. Is there a certain country you are looking at getting married in? (We are getting married at the court house, but still having a symbolic destination wedding!)
  7. I feel a lot less traveled than all of you! I have been to one and only one country. USA! (Although my second will be my wedding in Mexico in May). And I have been to about 40 out of the 50 US states if that counts for anything!
  8. I HAVE to wear a veil. I couldn't see myself in a wedding dress without the veil. If the beach is windy, I will just secure it even better
  9. I was worried about a low turn out…but then I figured, the less people who go, the less money I have to pay. So I kind of have been looking at it that way. We are expecting around 30 guests.
  10. I have not decided if I will be having a bridal shower yet. GREAT QUESTION. I would love to hear what everyone has to say about having a bridal shower even if you're having a destination wedding. We were thinking we probably will not have a shower, just because I feel like the guests are already spending a lot of money to come to our wedding...
  11. @@bluecastr1 Even though I have the Strawberry Passion Package, I have hired an outside team to do my hair and makeup (read TOO many mixed reviews on the resort's salon), and it really isn't that expensive to hire an outside hair and makeup team. I am not doing a cocktail hour (but I am extending reception for 1 extra hour). I also have hired Ivan Luckie as my photographer. As for a DJ, I am still in the works of booking one (they have been slow to e-mail back!) Our reception and ceremony is going to be at Playa Azul.
  12. I tried getting on their website for about a week or two, and the website was down for construction. They did e-mail me pictures, and although I did like them, I could not find a whole lot of reviews which made me nervous!
  13. Lucky for you comet, and lucky to your future wife shipwrecked! My fiance wants me to figure EVERYTHING out!
  14. Thank you for the info Comet! Glad I chose Playa Azul!!
  15. Feeling so stressed about getting these invites out now! I am very type A and like having everything planned waaay ahead of time. We have decided to make our invites (cheaper, and we can get them done ASAP to send out!)
  16. All of me is an amazing song! I would have liked to use that as my first dance song, but one of my good friends is planning on using it in her wedding (and she introduced me to the song!)
  17. I didn't know people got married on cruise ships!! Of course I have also never been on a cruise ship lol
  18. We pretty much have an idea of how many guests we are anticipating after sending out our STD's….I just know that is the date they have to pay buy. I never thought about when they actually have to book buy…oops!! seriously what would I do without you girls!??! Looks like i will be e-mailing my TA tonight. THANK YOU! So the RSVP date does not have to be when their payments are due correct? Like what do you put on the invitation? An RSVP, a booking date, and a payment date?
  19. Thank you everyone for the suggestions! After viewing all of these sites (and prices), I have decided to make my own invites that are pretty much identical to ones I found on Etsy. The ones I found on easy were going to cost me $7.75 a piece, where as the ones we are making…literally identical, will be a fraction of the cost! I will post end product and prices when finished. (My mother-in-law is a crafty gal, and I know how to glue).
  20. We can post our wedding websites correct? As long as it is not through Facebook?
  21. The only bad thing about picker a newer resort, is it is a lot harder to find info from previous brides! Seriously, this site is a life saver thanks to previous brides!
  22. As long as the flowers are pretty, (which those you picture are beautiful!) I don't think anyone will be paying attention to how different the bouquets are!
