  1. Tipping is another thing that I feel like is a hidden fee. I mean "all inclusive" right? I know it isn't required, but it is frowned upon not to tip. Especially when I never had even thought about tipping my vendors!
  2. I usually get a response within 1-2 days from my TA.
  3. I would look at etsy too! Lots of cheap stuff on there. I actually found starfish aisle runners that I think I will get off there!
  4. That is my main concern of if I don't have a DJ…the fact that someone will have to be in charge of keeping everything going. Plus I do not know how many of our guests are really party on their own without any encouraging going on. I think a DJ will be a big help for this!
  5. I was looking at wedding package pricing for our resort just for 5 years ago, and it is crazy how much the prices have risen!
  6. This is my 150th post, only fitting for me to post it here! Yayyy it can be done!
  7. Is a sand ceremony typically only for a destination wedding? I have been to a few local weddings and have never seen this incorporated! Lol such a noob here.
  8. I did not meet my fiancé online…but nowadays, I see how people could. My best friend starting using a dating app, and seeing how helpful it was I was like wow! If I was still in the dating world I would probably be going online to do it. You can really meet a lot more people. And for the record, my dad and step-mom met online, and they have been married almost 10 years now.
  9. Is there a tradition behind the sand ceremony? Have not even though about doing that…I never really got the point of it.
  10. Thank you for that list! I have packing anxiety and I am 7 months out!
  11. We did not do engagement pictures. We had originally planned to but ran out of time. Plus, we knew that we would be engaged for about 2 years before we got married, so that would be a long time in between engagement to the wedding stuff that would get sent out.
  12. I will be a hot mess the month before I go! lol Think about it, you really need to lose like 5 pounds MORE than what you want to lose…because you know you will gain at least 5 on your trip!
  13. @@calgarybride2015 Thank you for that info! If I was on the fence about getting a tumbler…less trips to the bar has me sold!
  14. I also just got my passport (for the destination wedding). So I am hoping that now we both have our passports we will be more excited about traveling abroad! It is just so expensive to travel outside of the country!
  15. It stresses me out to know that I only have 7 more months to lose weight! (Really like 5 months, because thats when my dress alterations will be getting done!)
  16. I am also 5 foot tall…and I never wear long dresses because lets be honest…they are all too long! lol However, I knew with pretty much any wedding dress I get I would need alterations…so I am not really concerned that it is too long because it will be altered!
  17. @@linaco80 We also assumed we would be going with the resorts vendors …and then decided we weren't sure if we were happy with their vendors. So that is why we chose outside vendors too. I haven't even really thought about tipping yet…that will be ANOTHER hidden cost! lol
  18. So far our hidden costs have been vendor fees. ($500 for photographer, $150 for hair/make up team, $105/hr for DJ.) Also, not that these are hidden fees…but I had NO idea how much a photographer and a DJ was going to cost. Way more than I anticipated!
  19. My dress is long, with not much of a train. With destination weddings, really anything goes. I know for me personally, I just love the long wedding dress look, no matter how hot it is!
  20. @@beckys98 thats exactly how we are. I know for sure there will be 20 close friends/family. As long as the people that matter most to me are there, that is all I care about!
  21. You can totally lose 7 pounds in 8 months!!
