  1. We are getting married and having our honeymoon at the same resort, a family-friendly resort. We did not want to limit our guests to coming if they had children and wanted to bring them, so that was our reasoning!
  2. My fiancé has an associates degree (automotive), and I have my LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). I will go back to school at some point to get my RN or BSN, and I know that would be more challenging with children. But having children would outweigh the stressor to me. (I REALLLLLLY want kids!) Financially, we both work full time and are just saving for a house and our wedding. My mom's reasoning is that we should enjoy being a married couple because children change everything. "Yessss mom I know…" But FI and I have lived together for several years already! We already ACT like a married couple. I want some babies
  3. Oh and I can't believe I forgot to mention... Out of the pictures you posted, the first was my fav. The picture you posted of YOUR hair…looks GREAT! LOVE IT!
  4. I did hire a DJ, so I do not have to worry about this. However, I would make a playlist and add all the time for all the songs. Make sure you have MORE than necessary to cover the time of the reception!
  5. I have got all of my wording down. I am still working on changing the fonts and colors though. After I get that worked out I will post pics! I have saved all my resorts and am taking pics as I go. My mother in law was looking at me like I was crazy…but I told her I needed pics for this forum!! Hehe see thats how much I like all you ladies! A tropical paradise is the setting, A romantic getaway for our wedding. How is this? Any tips to make it better? Thank you!
  6. I actually love the red hot chili peppers My fiancé does not speak spanish but since he knows the original song, I figured it would still work if we decide to choose the stand by me by prince royce.
  7. Is it crazy that I just want to tell my hair stylist that I hired "Do whatever you think will look good"? I have had the same hair stylist for over 5 years (who is also my best friend). I always tell her just do what you think will look good! They ARE the professionals right? LOL I guess I will take the extra time to decide what I want!
  8. Our DJ Doremixx actually provides glow sticks with his package. However I am still thinking about bringing some just for back ups. Maybe put in OOT bags for other nights at the club at the resort!
  9. @@lydiasusi Post pics of the one you bought AND the one you are selling…I would love to see them!!
  10. I found an old thread on this…but it is a topic I have really been wondering about. How long after you get married are you planning on trying to have children? My FI and I will both be 23 when we get married, and will have been together for over 5 years. We have lived together for 3. I have been itching to have a baby for quite some time, and have agreed to wait until we are married. That being said the FI and I have both agreed we would like to start having children immediately after we get married. I have discussed this with my mom, and she seems very unsupportive. While she said it is OUR decision, she thinks we need to wait a few years after getting married before having kids. I want a large family, and I want to be a younger mom (I would 24 at the earliest and even this is older than what I would have liked!) What are everyone else's plans on starting a family?
  11. I actually have no friends who are already married, so I will only be having a MOH. But a lot of brides have both, plus it divides the work load by half!
  12. We are getting married in May, and that is when I want to start trying for children (after the wedding of course). Fiance and I will be 23 when married. We have been together for almost 5 years, and I have been wanting a baby for more than half of that! I have waited until marriage…and that is as long as I will wait! Great thread, nice reading everyone's replies. Also, at this time the FI and I want as many children as possible (as many as we can afford…if you can ever really afford children). This is another reason we want to start sooner rather than later!
  13. I am in the same boat. I am even making my wedding invitations…and I am just at a stand still. Im like okay, how do i work this darn microsoft word?! I know how to type…but to format and change things I am struggling! This goes for labels as well because I was wanting to type them up myself!
  14. OMG you have inspired me too!! Never thought to DIY these hangers but now I might have to try!
  15. From what I have read on here…a lot of people tend to wait until the last minute to book reservations! (Awful for us brides!) We are also going to have guests "take a seat, not a side". I only have my dad, step mom, and step sister attending, and a MOH. Unfortunately most of my family cannot attend!
  16. That is very unfortunate you are having family problems! I have never really known my mom (raised by my dad)…and I lucked out. I have the BEST mother in law anyone could ever ask her. I literally get any and ALL advice regarding my wedding and everyday problems from her. Hope everything works out for you, and I agree…you've done nothing wrong!
  17. I plan to lose weight…so I will need mine taken in…hemmed (ALOT, I am only 5 foot tall!!), and a bustle of some sort… (that is what it is called to put the train up after the ceremony right?). I bought my dress at DB for under $500. I have never had any clothes altered and would be afraid to take them somewhere I haven't been before. I guess I will just take mine to DB and hope for the best!
  18. Great thread! I have never had ANYTHING waxed! But I defiantly would like to before I head to Mexico. I think I could deal with the pain…but i didn't even see a gynecologist until I was 22! (I am very conservative with my lady parts…thats for my man and no one else!). It is strange…because I am a nurse and have seen more private parts than a hooker…but that doesn't mean people get to see mine! This is my reasoning for procrastinating getting a bikini wax!
  19. Sister in law sounds like a perfect maid of honor… (or MATRON if she is married). Some people have a matron and a maid of honor. It really is all up to you. A best friend who is not stepping up or cannot step up to all the duties should be perfectly happy considering the circumstances of being a bridesmaid. Notice I said not JUST a bridesmaid…because they are still all very important to your special day! Best of luck!
  20. I have thought about doing flip flops…but I am concerned with this due to the fact I would have to ask EVERY guest what size shoe there wear… (ruins the surprise factor a bit, and a lot of extra work). I will be giving out advil & tylenol, tums, band aids, aloe, and maybe a few other meds. I will be putting some kind of snacks in the OOT bags, just not sure what yet. Love the idea for sunglasses (you can get them on bulk websites for cheap!). I love the CD idea also… just too time consuming for me!
  21. @@Brit9784 what is your wedding date? I am getting married in May also! (If you mean 2015). We just booked Dorremix as our DJ.
  22. I am in the process of making my invitations. What is the best way to word them? We are just sending an invite and RSVP card.
  23. I can't believe stuff like that actually happens! Nobody better take my stuff or I will be one furious bride to be!
  24. Does anyone else have experience with how much alterations cost at David's Bridal? I bought my dress their, and that is where I was planning on having my alterations done…but a quote of something crazy like $400 seems like so much!
