  1. wedding invitation is finished, and done completely on our own! This will be enclosed in an envelope with an envelope colored liner, an rsvp envelope, and matching rsvp card. (I will post the entire package as we complete it). We made these for under $20, and if you include the entire package (envelopes & rsvps), it still came in under $50! I am definitely a DIY girl after this. To actually put this together, it takes about 5 minutes per invite, really not that time consuming which is what I was worried about! Our STD'S took MUCH longer and were much more expensive. They were "boxes" that folded flat so they were easy to mail. You open up the box and voila, our save the dates! (Pictures below) It is just a box right?! (All four sides are stamped with different beachy stamps) Surprise! Our save the dates! If anyone would like the word document for our invite let me know!
  2. @@smileitseb The dollar stores in my area have them, for $1/piece. You could probably find them on a bulk website for cheaper.
  3. @@calgarybride2015 That is awful! You should tell them that is not what you were grandfathered in for! As far as I know, it is per company at my resort, hence why I don't know if I will get charged for a trial day.
  4. @@kmk2016 They are coming to the resort. I hired The Best Moments. You can look on the vendor forum to read their reviews. As far as I am aware, I am only paying one vendor fee. They have agreed to either pay the vendor fee for me, or split the cost depending on how many people I will have using them.
  5. We have hired a DJ, but we are not getting a dance floor. Dance floors are only so big and I do not want to limit number of people that can be dancing at one time. Also, since we are having a beach reception, I wanted to be able to dance in the sand…that is what I am paying for right?! LOL. Plus, the dance floor would be almost 1,000 dollars extra. That is the main reason we opted not to get one!
  6. I hired an outside vendor. I am paying $380 for hair & makeup, and that also includes a trial.
  7. @@TammyWright Is there one for Barcelo brides? Thank you!
  8. I did invite my boss. I work at a nursing home and she is my director of nursing. We do not always get along, but she treats me like a daughter and acts like a mother. So even though I doubt she will go I think it is a very nice gesture. I asked for her address and sent it to her in the mail.
  9. @@starbx123 I have no idea what crispy grissini is! LOL! I think its a type of bread. My fiances aunt is a foodie, and told us for the surf and turf, these were good foods to go with it. I have heard the mariachi is great, I just could NOT spend the kind of money for such a short amount of time. We are staying for 10 nights. Would have liked longer, but our budget has already gone up and up. This wedding is a lot more expensive than what I would have liked! Which hotel are you staying at? We are staying at colonial/tropical, although I have heard after all the renos will be done that the caribe/maya beach and colonial/tropical will be equal in price and you will be able to go to all of them. We are extending our reception for an hour. Our ceremony time is at 6pm. Do you have a wedding website? Heres ours: http://rcstromberg.wix.com/rosscelestewedding
  10. @@starbx123 We are on step 3. We chose Proscciuto Ham in crispy grissini, asparagus soup, surf & turf, & strawberry cheesecake. Have you booked any vendors yet? How long are you staying??
  11. The best moments. Great prices and I have read great reviews! They are really good about responding to e-mails as well.
  12. Our invitations before we start making them…what do y'all think??? A tropical paradise is the setting, A romantic getaway for our wedding. 13. @@amanda2016 Thank you for sharing that! Does anyone else have an checklists for destination weddings???
  14. @@starbx123 My wedding ceremony and reception are confirmed for the playa azul location on 5/15/15. I even changed my wedding date (only by a day), JUST to have this location. From what I have read on here, most people say it is the most private place for you to have your ceremony and reception…except for of course a banquet hall. If you want something more private, I would definitely go with playa azul! Who is your wedding coordinator?
  15. I hired a make up artist/hair team (really JUST FOR the airbrush makeup). I have no experience with it whatsoever, but I know it costs more because it is so wonderful (I hear). So instead of worrying about doing anything myself, or our resorts spa without airbrush…I am paying the extra cash.
  16. @@NurseNurse0101 omg so jealous! Have soooo much fun, take lots of pictures…and cannot WAIT to hear your review!!!
