  1. For a legal ceremony on the Sky Deck, I was told the extra costs are: $1700 for the Sky Wedding Package $250 for the Blood Tests $500 for the Judge $150 for Translation of your Wedding Certificate
  2. So jealous- I wish my TA was as helpful as yours! The agency we have been using has barely helped at all and even argued with me when I questioned some of the crazy fees/prices for the wedding and said that no fees could be waived.
  3. Any suggestions as far as seating for the wedding cocktail hour? I don't want people to have to stand for the whole time, but their seating options are so expensive- $50 per high cocktail table chair??
  4. I used Zazzle for our Save the Date invitation stamps, the "Couple Starfish on the beach… Save the Date Stamps"-- super cute! http://www.zazzle.com/172471606761758192?size=small&denomination=70&orientation=horz&design.areas=[small_horz]&view=113133538202912481&context=114621979908244535
  5. Thanks- I'll definitely look into Banyan Tree. I stayed at one in Thailand and it was amazing!!
  6. Yes, please- I'd really appreciate if you would let me know what awesome resort your friends are staying at!!
  7. Is anyone planning on honeymooning at another resort in the area after your wedding? Any suggestions?
  8. The free unlimited events promotion is is only for weddings held from 1-Jun to 22-Dec next year at Azul Fives, so unfortunately we don't qualify since our wedding is in May.
  9. My coordinator is now telling me that the free GIWC Cocktail Event is only 1-hour (not 2-hours as she originally told me). Is anyone else using the GIWC cocktail event? And if so, how long is it? Thanks!
  10. I just set this up with my WC and she was firm on the fact that it would cost me $10pp over 50 people and that I could not modify or upgrade the event in anyway. You also got them to waive the Sky Wedding Fee too because of the amount of people you are having? What?!?! My WC said the S'mores Party was 2 hours, I could select either: 6pm - 8pm or 8pm to 10pm and the event must end by 10pm.
  11. @@Nanlvsrav The free GIWC Welcome Cocktail Reception is a 2-hour cocktail event for up to 50 people (additional $10pp over 50). It includes a signature cocktail, beer, wine and soda and gourmet bites. I think they select the location and food choices for you and unfortunately it cannot be upgraded or modified.
  12. Anyone having an upcoming wedding (2014/2015) at Fairmont Mayakoba or have feedback on their experience there?
  13. I was just told today that I cannot use ANY outside vendors with the exception of photography/videography (even if I am willing to pay the $800 fee)! Was anyone else able to get an external vendor approved that is not photo/video?
  14. @@mazarin I am also flying in earlier so that we qualify for the free always & forever wedding package, meet with the on-site coordinator, trial hair and makeup, and hopefully enjoy a little fun and sun before the wedding madness starts!
  15. @@Nanlvsrav So much for 1 wedding per day, I guess Would love to meet up for a drink before the weddings. I also saw that @@Lilgabri03 has her wedding on the 12th, so it will be a busy week!
  16. @@Vickiw89 The Sky Deck is the top floor. The Zky Terrace is the terrace outside the Zky Bar that overlooks the pool.
  17. I love the convertible dress idea, but when I initially looked into it I didn't like the thin fabrics the dresses all came in. However, I just recently found the "Maid Your Way" Convertible Chiffon gown with Satin belt by Sorella Vita that my bridesmaids will be wearing. When they went to try it on they all really liked it (no thin, clingy fabric) and it looked good on different body types.
  18. Groom is probably going to wear either a khaki or light grey summer suit (no tie) for pictures and then take the jacket off and roll up the sleeves. As for the guests, I had the same dilemma because I don't think people need to wear semi-formal attire, but I don't want people showing up in shorts either. So we've made the dress code for our wedding"Resort Chic" (maxi dresses or sundress with a wedge or flat sandal for women and a button-down and rolled-up trousers for men). Hope that helps!
  19. I can't see your pics since I'm new and don't have enough posts yet. But would you consider 2 dresses- one for the ceremony and one for the reception? That's what I ended up doing when I couldn't decide between 2 very different dresses.
  20. I have 2 dresses as well- one for the ceremony and one for the reception. I just couldn't decide between one that was more "sparkle and bling" and a simple silk one, so I ended up purchasing both and I'm super excited to wear both!
  21. Hi Everyone, We have reserved our wedding at Azul Fives for May 15, 2015. @@Nanlvsrav I noticed your wedding is actually the day after ours! We had the same experience as you with reserving the Sky Deck- we wanted our ceremony at 5pm, but were told that there is another wedding that has already booked the location and I would have to have my ceremony at 4pm. It looks like that weekend is going to be very busy for them with weddings and I'm a bit concerned now that they will not be able to properly coordinate the logistics and set-up for all of these events.
