  1. Ann, I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this so close to your day. Unfortunately we can't control other people's personalities or actions but at times like these, I wish we could. I hate the recurring theme of how we've all been hurt based on other people's decisions or actions (or in your case, lack of action). Like @@snswedding2016 said, in the end it's about you and Doug. By this time next week, you two will be renewing your vows and recognizing the love you have for each other. You two have been through so much, yet you've remained together and supporting one another. We're here for you if you need anything xoxo
  2. Happy wedding day!! Absolutely excited and thrilled for you. I hope that you're having the best time of your life. Pics please
  3. You've lost more than a few pounds! Plus on top of that, you're getting more toned and gaining more muscle mass, you're gonna look so fit and fabulous in your dress. And that drop waist is gonna accentuate your small waist too!
  4. @@deecol Oh it's definitely hard! I love it though, it really makes you feel like you had a great workout and in only 15 mins! Thank you so much, I owe you Tell Col that the wait will definitely be worth it! He's gonna fall in love with you even more (if that's possible) once he sees how hot his wife is in her dress Der can't wait to see me in my dress too. My goal is to make him cry lol FYI - My seamstress told me that 5lbs up or down won't make a huge difference size-wise so that was good to know. Once you gain or lose 10lbs, that makes a difference on whether you need a size up or down.
  5. Oh I know what you mean about the zippers, that's why I was so scared during my first fitting. I was so worried that I wouldn't fit in my dress. But yay, I did. What does the back look like right now? It's good you're gonna get a corset back, with all your weight loss you'll need something to make your dress hug tighter to your body. And I'm glad you still love your dress, it really is stunning on you
  6. I'm so glad the veil goes beautifully with your dress! How did you get it on yourself? I attempted to try my dress on by myself and struggled to zip it up. I had no one but my dog around and she was no help lol
  7. @@deecol I did the Monday Phase 1 set yesterday and it was good. At first I read it and thought, this seems easy enough, we do this at bootcamp. Plus with half of it at a rest for a minute each, seemed easy and 15 minutes total? I could do that with my eyes closed. Well I don't know if it was the Thanksgiving dinner the night previous or not but the 15 second reps of the jump squat and jump knee squats x6 nearly killed me! Lol I downloaded a tabata timer to keep time of the reps. Clearly I underestimated the intensity. Did my Pilates today and will be doing my bootcamp tomorrow and Pilates on Thursday so I might do the Tuesday phase 1 on Friday. So far I love it, thanks Dee Oh and I can't wait to see what your dress looks like on you now. I bet Col's jaw will drop once he sees you in your dress!
  8. @@deecol I know! We'll be at double digit countdown by Saturday During your family Thanksgiving get-together, we started watching YouTube videos of Moon Palace be it was nice to see how excited they were for our wedding. @@acw271011 thank you so much for the kind words. I'm still hurt by my friend's decision but in the end, that's her choice and I'm not gonna dwell on it or let it get me down. If she doesn't want to be there, that's ok because the ones who truly matter will be by our side.
  9. I agree with the other ladies, I think your bouquet looks beautiful. I don't think anyone will really notice the very subtle purple tone. Like Kim said, unless they bother you a lot, I don't think it's worth it. They really are beautiful already
  10. How did I miss that pic of you in your dress? You are absolutely glowing in it, it's the perfect dress for you. I can't even tell you have a hangover, and wine hangovers are the worst. I love everything you've picked up, from the bags, the maracas, ring holder and of course the shoes. I love that blue tone. If they're too slippery, you can always buy slipguards for the bottom. They should have them at Walmart or aldo (really any shoe store). They have clear ones so they won't take away too much from the shine on the soles. And that's so exciting that you leave this Sunday, I'm excited for you!! Oh and good luck on the job front. Two second interviews is great. It would be wonderful if you can quit your old job before leaving huh?
  11. Thanks @@calgarybride2015 ☺ Almost at my 3 month countdown. Actually by this time next week, I'll be down to double digit countdown
  12. We're sticking with Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud too! I thought about changing it because my sister keeps telling me it's overplayed but like you and Col, we chose that a while ago so it feels weird choosing something else. Der actually got upset when I mentioned changing our song. He said that every time he hears the song, it makes him happy and excited about our wedding. Once he said that, I knew I was wrong in wanting to change it. That's great about all your guests booking. It sounds like it's gonna be such a blast! And I understand where you're coming from. I felt like I couldn't do too much wedding planning until after my brother's wedding. I did a lit of planning in terms of booking vendors but I didn't want to do too much overt planning since I didn't want them to feel like I was trying to overshadow their wedding.
  13. @@deecol I'm glad you didn't get offended. I re-read what I wrote and was instantly embarrassed and worried! Thank for the kind words but apparently high buns are not my thing. That totally sucks because I saw two brides on say yes to the dress ask for that hairstyle and it was gorgeous! It will be beautiful on you, but that's not a big surprise....you're gorgeous all the time
  14. @@deecol Oh I didn't mean it that way (I'm sorry if it came across badly and if I offended you). She said the style was beautiful, just not on me. So that's more like an ouch for me! Lol
  15. Thanks @ and @@deecol! I'm hoping this new hairstyle will work. @@deecol the seamstress hated the hairstyle so much that she restyled my hair lol She approves of this new one @ I love the earrings! They're so shiny and they're simple and elegant
  16. Dress Fitting Last Saturday I went for my first dress fitting. I was really excited to try on my dress again since the last time I tried it on was in April when I picked it up from the bridal store. I bought the dress exactly a year ago during a sample sale and aside from length of sleeves and hem, it fit me perfectly! So I basically had a year to maintain my weight and size. I was also excited to see what my shoes looked like with my dress on. I decided to wear my hair in a high bun, similar to the Hillary Duff hairstyle that @@deecol posted. I wanted to see if that hairstyle suited the dress. Well I'm happy to say that the dress still fits me perfectly As soon as I was zipped up, I fell in love with my dress again. My sister/MOH said that she can tell that I still love my dress and that I looked beautiful in it (did I tell you how much I love my sister? LOL). All the consultants flocked to my fitting room and made me feel like a thousand bucks with all of their compliments. I should note that within the last year, my mom, sister and I have bought 7 dresses from this bridal store (dresses for my brother's wedding last June and for my upcoming one) so we knew all the consultants. They were basically my friends so that's why they all came to see me in my dress. My original bridal consultant even came by to give me a hug and show me jewellery that she thought would be perfect for my wedding. I tried them on and they were just the right amount of bling and looked great with my dress. So I bought these swarovski earrings and this bracelet. According to Filipino (or my mom's) superstition, I was not allowed to wear any jewellery that were tear-drop style as it represented sad tears on the wedding day. So these earrings were mom-approved. As for my hair, everyone agreed that the high ballerina bun did not suit me or my dress. Since I won't be having a hair trial, it was good to test out before my wedding day. So I've decided that this is how I'm going to style my hair.I won't be wearing a veil, just a jeweled hair piece. What do you guys think? I have two dress fittings left (Oct 17 and 31) then I can cross that off my list. Woohoo!
  17. Wow, everyone is doing so well with their goals! @@RivieraBride15 that is seriously amazing. That's a tremendous accomplishment in less than a year, kudos @@vancouverpetunia you go girl! I love your motivation, 4.5 lbs in 2 weeks is awesome! I have no doubts that you'll do well while you're away. And good on you for making sure your airbnb have gyms. @@deecol despite your hectic week, you still managed to stay active and stay on your meal plans so that's awesome! And isn't it great when ppl start noticing the weight loss? It just makes my day when that happens. Oh and congrats on more bookings, woohoo. And good call on taking advantage of boxing day sales! Ok so as for me, now that I'm better I have gone back to working out. I managed to go to bootcamp twice but sadly missed my two pilates classes since I worked late twice this week. My first bootcamp nearly killed me and it took two days to get over all the squats we did. It felt great to be back though! Der and I have been good at meal planning and have been snacking less at night. Despite my two weeks off from exercising, I managed to maintain my weight so yay! Goals for this week: - Gym is closed on Monday bc of Thanksgiving so workout 3x - Buy hiitmax. @@deecol you seem to enjoy it so I think that's a sign that I should finally commit and try it - Continue with meal planning Wedding goals - Complete OOT bags bags
  18. Wow, you look gorgeous in your dress! Congratulations on the weight loss, that's a huge accomplishment and you should be extremely proud of that.
  19. I'm not sure if you're still looking for totes but thought I'd share. Weddingchicks is having a 24hour flash sale; 40% off totes and more. Promo code: FLASH40
  20. Thank you so much for the tip on the flags! I didn't think they'd look too pretty if I wrote on them so I'll try the stamps. Yay 50% off coupon @ I can't believe you forgot you had them! You were the one who inspired me to get them lol. I want to get silver or coral paper to go in the marquees but Der wants to paint them.
  21. Oh wow, you're almost a month away, that's so exciting! Everything looks great so far, you're really quite creative. I love the gold on the ampersand, it's a nice touch. As for the centrepieces, I like both. Can you alternate and have some with the blue starfish and some with the non coloured one? I think it would look really good. And how did you print on the straw flags? I wanted to do the same but didn't really want to write in them. Oh and that dress looks fabulous on you! It fits you really well
  22. @@calgarybride2015 you make a good point, plus our exchange rate to pesos is so much better!
  23. OMG 2 days before you leave? That's so exciting!! I love that you have "chill out" in your itinerary. I think we all get so caught up in the stress and anxiety that we forget to take a moment to relax. I wish you all the best and I hope everything turns out as you imagined (and more) As for money, I always bring US dollar bills but with the exchange rate, I'm not sure what I'll be doing
  24. I'm so glad to hear your BDR was a success and that you and Sean had a great time. Like @ I'm sitting here at my desk drooling from your food pics. They look so delicious. And that's great that you were able to test out how your centerpieces will look on the tables.
  25. @ I'm gonna make you excited about wedding planning again! Your day is in less than 3 months and I'm gonna make it a point to get you pumped for Dec 15! I'm sorry to hear the excitement is gone and you've lost your appetite but don't be hard on yourself. You guys are starting to meal plan which is such a great start. And that's awesome that you and your bridesmaids have made a pact. I find it easier and more fun to work out with people I can socialize with and be competitive with too. That's why I love my bootcamp classes, I've known everyone there for 2 years now and they make me want to workout harder.
