  1. @@calgarybride2015 truth be told, I've always loved mantilla veils and had envisioned that when I get married, I would have a long Cathedral mantilla veil. So I agree with all you ladies that it will be good to see it for myself. @@Danielle1 I'm so glad you're enjoying your new job and can now get right back to wedding planning. As always, I'm here to help you if needed
  2. I'm so glad you have a great TA and that she was able to make you feel confident with your decisions. So did you finally make your final decision on Moon Palace? And your wedding band looks gorgeous! It matches beautifully with your engagement ring. I have a great jeweler who actually custom made both mine and my fiancé's wedding bands. He's super easy to talk to and very knowledgeable. I will pm you his info when I get home
  3. Dee I agree with you, lilies are beautiful on their own and don't need the extra greenery. The great thing about lilies is that they can hold their own, if that makes sense. I have seen bridesmaids walk down with one Lily and it still looked beautiful. Maybe do two sets (one with 3 and one with 5), have one of your bridesmaids (if available) carry them with their dress on. Maybe that will help you decide and envision it better. And I like the silver ribbon. And if you like, you can add a bit of bling to yours too
  4. @@Danielle1 thank you so much!! How have you been? I've been meaning to message you but I know you've been busy with your new job. How's your wedding planning?
  5. I love the look of your bouquet, you did a fantastic job! I've never seen flowers arranged that way and I think it's a beautiful arrangement. The flowers and greenery compliment each other so well too! As for the bridesmaids bouquet, I'm gonna go against the grain and say that I like the look of 3 the best. You can tell that they're calla lilies more with three than five. I agree with you about the, being squished a bit but regardless, both if them look great so you can't go wrong either way. How are you going to wrap the stems?
  6. @@deecol Now I'm really glad I'm going to get to try on veils because I never thought your veil was too much with your dress. Your veil compliments your dress so well so thank you for telling me this. I will definitely post pics to get your opinions
  7. Thank you @@krystalball I always tell people to keep an open mind when trying on wedding dresses so I thought I'd follow my own advice with veils. I'll post about it in 2 weeks and let you all know how it goes
  8. The size of the resort is actually what won us over! We really want our guests to feel like it's their vacation too and that they don't have to stick with other wedding guests if they don't want to. If it turns out that ppl want to stick together, that's great but thought we'd give them the option. The resort has wifi so I was just going to do a whatsapp group contact and mention where my fiancé and I would be in case ppl wanted to meet up for drinks or dinner. If you like the Palace credits but are reluctant about the size, there's also Beach Palace, playacar palace (on Playa del Careen) or cozumel palace. Once you stay at one palace resort, you're allowed to visit other Palace resorts for free! And use their facilities too
  9. Woohoo, another planning thread. But what excites me most is that you're a fellow Vancouver Moon Palace bride That's such a cute engagement story and I'm glad your friend happened to be there to take pics. I've never been to Moon Palace but came highly recommended by my TA. Plus it met all of our wants for our destination wedding. I do have all the information you're looking for (I've pm'ed you). Hopefully I can help out
  10. You have such wonderful friends and family to organize such a fun bridal shower. And I laughed too about having your 90 year old grandma see embarrassing things. And since no one else has asked, I'm curious what those pink things were. What were they? Can't wait to hear about your stagette!
  11. I'm wishing you safe travels on your trip and all the best on your vow renewal. Congratulations to you and Doug! Your continued love and support for each other is something Der and I will strive for during our marriage. You have been nothing short of wonderful to a number of brides, including myself and for that I thank you Please post pics when you can an I can't wait to hear all about it! Xoxo
  12. Thank you very much @@acw271011, @@deecol and @ @@acw271011 it's such a fun dress and I cannot wait for Derrick to see me in it. I wasn't going to wear a veil with it since I thought that it may be too much given the ruffles and the bling on the sash. I'm only 5'0" and am afraid that it may be too much fabric on me. So I was planning on wearing a hair jewel instead. But, having said that, I want to make sure I have no regrets or second guessing of any sorts so I'll be trying on veils during my next fitting. I'll be bringing all my jewellery and styling my hair for the next fitting and we’ll see if a veil looks good. I'll keep you all posted @ I'm so glad my shoes worked out. I love the colour and flower detail but I was worried the pink would clash with the peach undertone of my dress. I'm glad to say it doesn't. Oh and they're so light and comfy. Badgley Mischka has not failed me lol
  13. Oh Kyle's jaw will definitely drop when he sees you, you're gorgeous!! Good call on getting your sister's opinion on the chest area. And make sure you bend over in front if her to see if it's loose. And definitely a good idea having her practice tying the corset! Especially since practice makes perfect ????
  14. @@yycbride2016 thank you so much @@snswedding2016 thank you My seamstress will be going on a two-month vacation (leaving in November) so it was best to do the alterations before she left. Hopefully I can continue to maintain my weight and size. I've managed to maintain it for one year, I'm hoping I can keep at it for at least 3 more months!
  15. Thank you so much @@calgarybride2015 I did not want to take it off and I can't wait to try it on again in two weeks lol
  16. Yay, you got the dress!! You look ah-mazing,and your veil matches perfectly with your dress. You look stunning, your alterations are well done, especially the back corset part. From the photo, I can't see the problem with the chest/cup size so I agree with your MIL. If you bend over, can you see the space? If you can't then I'd say don't worry about it, unless it bothers you a lot. If it does, let me know and I can ask my seamstress in two weeks when I see her again.
  17. So it was my second dress fitting today and I swear I fall in love with my dress more and more each time I wear it! My seamstress has altered the sleeves and the first two layers of my skirt. During this fitting, she pinned the last two layers of my skirt for the final hem. My final fitting will be in two weeks, at which point she will show me two different types of bustles and I'll pick whichever one looks best. I'm also gonna bring all my jewellery and hair jewel so I can see the final look. @@acw271011 as requested, here's pics of me in my dress and shoes. Sorry for the blurry photos, that was my seamstress who was a little too excited for me lol
  18. I hope you find it! I'm using styling trio too and I agree, they're fabulous. Did you Skype with Yonatan? He's so funny and easy to talk to
  19. Ann, I think it's called fashion tape. You can usually find it with other clothing fix items like clear bra straps, nipple petals, etc. At the Shoppers here, it's found in a corner of the aisle by the shampoos. It's usually hanging and not on a shelf. It literally looks like a tape dispenser
  20. Your dress looks so beautiful on you. I do love the lace straps as well, and your seamstress did a great job matching the fabric and look of the dress. You can also buy two sided tape at Shoppers Drug Mart if you don't have time to go to the mall
  21. @@calgarybride2015 a loss of 6.4lbs? That's awesome, you should be really proud of yourself! @@yycbride2016 I'm sorry you've hit a rough patch but I'm glad that was only for a brief moment. Don't be so hard on yourself. Your pics on instagram are amazing and you're definitely an inspiration. Plus, 2.5lbs in 3 days, wow! What is the 21 day fix?
  22. @@yycbride2016 thank you so much yes, definitely show your fiancé the suit. We had such a great experience at Indichino, I highly recommend them. Der's first fitting is on Nov 1, I'll take more pics then and show you. I'm still a little hurt by my friend's decision but like we've all learned, we can't control other people's decisions, actions or even feelings. I would have hoped that she would be there for such a special time in my life but it just wasn't meant to be. The walk With Der and Waffle definitely helped
  23. Oh Hun, I'm so sorry to hear about your job loss but I'm super happy to hear you were able to find a new one so quickly! I can imagine that would be hectic so completely understandable. You are extremely fortunate to have two sets of supportive parents. That's really helpful that they're helping you okay and plan your AHR, especially now that it's bigger than you guys anticipated. It sound like it will be a blast! In terms of photographer, good call on going with Lancelotti, especially once you read the other one's contract. I can't believe It states you don't own the rights to your own photos, and even to print them, so weird. 4 hours should suffice, especially with a videographer. Unfortunately we didn't have room in our budget to have a videographer. Had the exchange rate been better, maybe it could gave worked out but unfortunately no luck And those shoes are fabulous, great find! I hope you'll get it on time for the wedding dress fitting. Which I KNOW will work out. I agree with @@calgarybride2015 that it's all just miscommunication and you'll get your dress this Saturday. Post pics if you can. P.S. I think you, @ and I all have dress fittings this Saturday!
