  1. Thank you so much @@deecol @ @@Danielle1 and @@calgarybride2015 @@deecol I'm so glad I tried on veils. It's funny because when I initially bought the dress, I tried on a veil and it didn't look good at all. My seamstress suggested trying them on again after the dress alterations were complete since I thought a veil plus a dress with ruffles seemed like so much fabric on me. But I put it on and it completed the look. I'm so excited! @ you're so sweet! I was tearing up at Indochino because I was imagining myself walking towards Der in his suit. I am so happy with how it looks, it's the perfect grey too @@Danielle1 you're just a month after me so yours is getting closer too! I got my PO and Yanet did a great job getting the majority of it correct. We went back and forth a few times and after a week, my PO is perfect. So you have nothing to worry about
  2. Update: 83 more days!!!! I'm so excited, it's getting so close. So this weekend I had my final dress fitting and Der had his suit fitting. Yup, it was a wedding planning weekend for the both of us. For my dress fitting, I was so happy with how it all looks. The length is perfect, though my seamstress still wants to shorten the lining a bit more. The train is gorgeous and will look so beautiful while I walk down the aisle. We agreed on having the bustle on top instead of under as it showcases the ruffles more. And, as suggested by many, I did try on veils. As soon as she put the first one on me, I instantly fell in love! The veil is champagne so it matches my dress perfectly! And it's lined with a few jewels for a little added bling. I didn't want to take it off lol. I left my veil and dress at the store and won't pick it up until January 9. They'll steam it for me and get it all ready! As for Derrick, Indochino did a great job with his suit. Although we bought a full suit, he's only wearing the dress shirt, pants and vest. I love the little touches of customization you can do with a custom suit, like his sleeve is monogrammed. Most of all, I love the fit on him! So to get a visual of what we look like together, I put this photo together. It got me even more excited!!!
  3. @@calgarybride2015 I'm so sorry to hear about your uncle Kim, big hugs to you. And I'm so sorry to hear about the stress it's been causing you. Grief shows differently for each person and it's hard at times to understand other people's actions. I hope you're ok, feel free to message me if you need to vent
  4. Hugs to you @@deecol I hope you get well soon and like I said, your Nonno is in a happier place. Message me anytime, I'm here for you xoxo
  5. Beautiful photos Ann, you look so beautiful. And both you and Doug look so happy, I can't wait to see more pics. I'm so sorry to hear about your job but I'm certain you're on to bigger and better That job caused you nothing but stress. I'm sure this will just lead to another door opening.
  6. Your jewellery looks beautiful. I don't blame you for wanting them, they'll compliment your dress nicely
  7. So it's Thursday and time for the weekly check-in. I'm happy to say that I accomplished my exercise goal of working out 4x this week, bootcamp on Monday and Wednesday, and Pilates Tuesday and today!! I feel so good! I wasn't do good with my diet though and didn't pack lunch at all. I chose healthier options from the cafeteria but it would have been better if I brought my own lunch. I've also been snacking more often so I should curb that. For wedding goals, I've filled out all my legal forms and other forms for our resort and I'll be sending that off tomorrow. I neglected my OOT bags but I'll work on that this weekend. So for my goals next week: - definitely eat better and meal prep all week, especially for work - workout at least 4x and since Der has his bachelor party this weekend, I think I'm gonna add an additional session of each, bootcamp on Saturday and Pilates on Sunday. So hoping for 6 exercise sessions.between that and eating better, hopefully that will make up for my last two weeks of unhealthy snacking - for wedding planning goals I plan on shopping for OOT bag items (I really need to get these), work on tags for the place cards and OOT bags, review our PO which I'm supposed to get this week and with the help of @, finish our table number displays. Wish me luck!
  8. Congratulations!!! I'm sorry there was a glitch to the start of your day but I'm so happy to hear it all worked out in the end. Doug sounds like he went all out to show you just how much he loves you. I can't wait to see your pics, and your video. And thank you for the awesome review/feedback on a Styling Trio and Samuel Luna, both are our vendors for our wedding. Reading that made me so excited and happy I went with them. Enjoy the rest of your stay and please post pics when you can!
  9. Wow, they really went all out for this event! And your outfit sounds like it's perfect for the event
  10. @@calgarybride2015 that sounds like so much fun! Is there dancing? If there is, just dance up a storm and get some cardio while there lol. And one meal won't ruin your hard work, as long as you don't go crazy. But we all know that's easier said than done. Post pics please, I'd love to see your outfit
  11. I love your colour palette, very romantic. I've always loved navy with pink and it will look so beautiful, especially with the different hues of nudes and blush.
  12. @@deecol this is what my legal ceremony information sheet states: Witnesses: Legal Wedding Ceremonies four witnesses are required. If the wedding couple provides their own witnesses the following is needed; If witnesses are not available, Palace Resorts will provide them at no additional cost. Witnesses must be at least 18 years of age at the time of the ceremony. Witnesses must arrive three (3) business days Monday – Friday (four (4) if going to Cozumel) prior to ceremony.
  13. Thanks for your input @@deecol! You're right about trusting my gut when picking between my uncle and brother. Both mean the world to me and I'm actually going to dance with both of them in lieu of the father/daughter dance. It will be a dance with the men in my life, my uncle, brother nephew and Derrick's dad And I just checked my legal ceremony forms and witnesses just have to be there 3 business days before the ceremony, not 4 (that's only for Cozumel weddings). Are your Canadian family members there 3 business days before?
  14. Oh I'm so sorry you're already experiencing this so early in your planning. I admire your positive attitude. We've all been there and unfortunately you can't please everyone. But that's the thing ppl don't get, you don't have to please them, it's your wedding day, not theirs. I get where your sister is coming from with all the new expenses in her life but you guys are giving ample notice for ppl to save! Hope it all works out for you
  15. Thanks for all your input @, @@Danielle1 and @@deecol You're all right, maybe close family would be best. We're not having our parent's names on our wedding certificate since it will cost us so much more for original birth certificates with an apostille so maybe having our parents as witnesses would be perfect! What do you think @@deecol? Immediate family would be at the front row anyways so it shouldn't be too bad right? Ok second question, my dad died 29 years ago so who should I ask ask my secondary witness, my brother or my uncle who has been a father figure to me?
  16. @@deecol I thought I was asking such a trivial thing so I'm glad that you also think it's a good question. I just think it would look weird if only some of the bridal entourage signed. I could also get two bridesmaids two sign as my witness then have Der's best man his sister to sign but then I think that could look weird too having one person who's not for the bridal party do it
  17. Ok I need your input/opinion on something. I'm filling out our legal ceremony forms (so exciting) and we have to identify 4 witnesses, two for the Groom and two for the bride. I was initially thinking that members of our bridal entourage could be our witnesses but Derrick only has one on his side (his best man). I have one MOH and three bridesmaids so if we get four from that group, it leaves one out (does that look weird)? Or we can get four other witnesses (maybe Der's sister and brother in law, and I could get my brother and sister in law). But would this be too many people moving around? Thoughts?
  18. @@deecol I started laughing out loud when I read your post! I love the science class quote lol You're hilarious. Email me pics lol
  19. @@yycbride2016 what's the name of that cookbook? Everything you've posted sound and look delicious, I'd like to try making them. And you're comply right about not being able to out exercise a bad diet. I can certainly do a lot better with meal planning, it's just so hard lol And great job with all the workouts! You're a machine! @@deecol that gnocchi sounds so good. And yes, YOLO lol plus your cheat didn't do any damage so it's all good. And don't you hate how guys lose weight and change so easily/quickly? So unfair. Sounds like you're giving him a run for his money though with the exercises and meal prep. All sounds so delicious. That's great that all the deposits have been coming in, ours isn't due until Nov 20. And what's a naughty pancake? Oh and great choice on bouquet arrangement selection! Both were beautiful
  20. Thanks @@calgarybride2015 and @ @ great job with hitting the gym on Sunday. Workout pains are the best, I always feel so accomplished lol Does that make me a masochist?
  21. @@calgarybride2015 wow, that's an insane schedule! We definitely need to find you your anniversary vacation, and stat! That's great that you've steadily lost weight. Don't be so hard on yourself, weight loss is a loss which is a heck of a lot better than a gain With your busy schedule, I can see the gym taking a backseat. The best thing is to probably be more aware of what you eat and try to not opt for fast food. I know when I'm stressed and busy, I tend to cheat and do the easy route with fast food. So bad for us! And thanks for reminding me that I have not checked in. For me, I was not very good during the Thanksgiving weekend and ate my face off. I'm so weak when it comes to my sister's home cooking. I did workout 3x last week, wait 4 with one session of Hiitmax thanks to @@deecol. I didn't do as well with meal planning and it showed, I gained 2lbs. I'm not too concerned since my weight tends to fluctuate and I still fit my wedding dress (had the second fitting last Saturday) so I know it didn't affect my measurements. The 2 lbs has just motivated me more to exercise harder and eat better. This week has started off well. We had our fitness test at bootcamp and I broke my record for three things. I managed to do a wallsit for 8 mins and 45 seconds, a personal best for me! And I did 32 burpees I'm a minute which is also a personal best. I have 2 more sessions of pilates plus 1 bootcamp then I'll do some hiitmax exercises at home on the weekend. Super excited and motivated, can you tell? Lol So my goal this week is to do all the exercises I mentioned. For wedding planning, I plan on working on some paperwork for the resort, like my legal ceremony form, guestlist form and send off our required documents for our legal ceremony. Then I'm gonna start tackling some of the smaller tasks like decorate our marquee letters, make up a sample OOT bag to see if I need anything else, and finalize other décor items like placemats and table settings. I'm getting excited since we're now at 95 days until our wedding, double digit countdown
  22. The photobook is such a great idea, it's very sweet of your friends to document such an important event in your life. And I love the magnets, you are very creative! It goes with your theme perfectly and will be the perfect touch to your tables. Plus, who doesn't like magnets?
  23. Oh I'm so torn and I'm probably not gonna be too helpful I live your first arrangement because it was unique and I loved how the roses were arranged. However, you couldn't see the calla lilies at all until you looked at it from behind. Your new arrangement is beautiful too though since you can see the beauty of all the flowers. Let me mull over this while at bootcamp lol
  24. Congratulations on your legal ceremony! And wow, 5 days until you leave? You must be so excited!
