  1. Hi @@danielleesme I'm so glad you've decided to start posting! Everyone on here is awesome, I've made some lifelong friends on here. And yay, another BC bride! My in-laws live in Nanaimo so we're in Vancouver Island often. It's so beautiful there, and a lot more laid back! How's your wedding planning coming along? I'm planning on bringing lollipops and adding them to our OOT bags. I have stickers to place on the bags that say "sucker in love". So cheesy, I know lol. My friend who also did a destination wedding did the personalized m&m's and had no problem bringing them over. So yours should be fine. I saw those piñatas and love them! What a great idea
  2. 8 days, omg that's so exciting!!! Your crossing so many things off of your list, congrats You're so organized so you'll knock everything off in no time! And thanks for the Air Transat info, I was starting to ask those very same questions you just answered. So thanks so much
  3. I'm so glad to hear, thanks Ann! I love Karla's photos too, they make such an awesome team!
  4. I already commented on your Facebook page but they're so good it warrants another compliment. WOW! I love them! Thanks for sharing Ann, I'm so excited to have Sam photograph our wedding
  5. Oh I love all of your gifts, they're so thoughtful And I'm so glad your final payment went through without a hitch. It's a shame you lost one but that's really outside his control. At least he'll get to celebrate with you guys at your AHR And your stagette sounds awesome! Sounds like a fun pampering night. That's on my wedding day so it sounds like you and I will be partying that day
  6. I think it would take me twice as long to do those designs but I don't have a creative bone in my body lol And I know, I can't believe I'm exactly a month away! Woohoo. I know it will go by quickly, especially with the holidays in between it all. Like you, I'm gonna take advantage of the time off and try to knock a few things off my list. Hey have you found a videographer? I'm still so torn, I want one but it's just not in our budget
  7. Oh wow, two weeks away? You must be so excited! I love everything you've done, your guests will love their welcome bags. And your printables are so detailed, how did you find the time to design all of those? Maybe I should make itineraries for my bridal party too. So far, all I've done was text them details. And your chalkboards and menu go perfectly with your love story theme. Great job @, when did you find the time to help and plan your wedding at the same time?!?!? Maybe my time management skills suck, you guys are all getting so much done! You've crossed off so much on your list, congrats. Can't wait to see it all come together
  8. Thanks @ and @@calgarybride2015 for the helpful tips and advice! You both know I've always favoured taking US dollars over pesos but I've smartened up and realized that it's stupid for me to choose to lose money! And ouch to jellyfish stings. I'll make sure to warn my guests, especially those with young kids As for strapless swimwear, I'm not too concerned since I have straps on my dress. The back is a deep V though so I have to be careful not to get dark tan lines. I figured that I'd just use a lot of sunscreen and wear a big floppy hat, especially leading up to the wedding!
  9. @@dreamweddings thank you so much for the tips and advice! Yonatan from Styling Trio also told me to make sure I keep the alcohol drinking down, especially before the wedding as it dries the skin. One question I had is regarding tipping. Is there a preference when it comes to currency used for tipping vendors, especially our photographer and WC. Our Canadian dollar is pretty bad right now and we lose a lot if exchanging to US dollars. Would it be ok to tip in Mexican pesos or just stick to US?
  10. Thank you @@MomentsThatMatter and @@kimmyd2 @@kimmyd2 eeek your wedding date is sooner than mine! How's wedding planning? Thanks for the tips, those are definitely great to know
  11. I love everything you've bought for the wedding so far! Your jewellery is beautiful and such a good price too. As for the cake topper, I didn't find it hard to read at all and it suits your nautical theme perfectly. And what a great deal on the groomsmen attire. That's a huge check off the list so congrats And that's great that Tip Top is so accommodating, especially with Kyle's suit. And if he's as dedicated to working out as you are, you two will be the fittest bride and groom ever! You're killing it with the workouts. Great job!
  12. 31 days, my guests and I are exactly 1 month away from boarding a plane to celebrate our wedding week. In the lead up to the wedding/trip, I thought it would be fun to do a countdown on our wedding website of tips, tricks and advice surrounding travel to Mexico, specifically the Cancun and Riviera Maya area. We've never been to that side of Mexico so I thought I would reach out to my bride and bride-to-be friends on the forum. If you could help me come up with tips, tricks and advice for our trip, I would really appreciate it. This can be anything from tips at the airport (e.g. stay away from timeshares), must-see places (e.g. touristy areas, restaurants, beaches, etc) and if anyone has any tips for Moon Palace (our wedding resort) that would be fantastic. Thanks in advance
  13. @@calgarybride2015 Thanks Kim. It's funny, at first I was so hesitant with online dating, I didn't think it would work. And look where we both are now
  14. Thanks @@deecol, @@ashhtayy and @@maddjax I love them so much, I paid for an extra tier on our wedding cake just so they're displayed properly lol @@maddjax those stickers are so cute. I've met so many ppl who have met their significant others online. I'm glad I got over my skepticism about online dating, it truly works
  15. @@vancouverpetunia and @@calgarybride2015 snacking is my kryptonite, why must chips and cookies be so bad for you but taste so good!?!? And I hope our eye twitches go away soon! Hopefully my week off from work during the holidays will cure what ails me.
  16. Update: I've started going through some of the things I've bought for our wedding and I can't believe I forgot to post about our cake topper As soon as I saw this cake topper, I knew we had to have it on our wedding cake! Derrick is an avid fisherman and has been fishing since he was 2 years old. He has the cute pic when he was young where he's carrying a fish that's bigger than him lol. We actually have an annual fishing trip and it was during our fishing trip in 2013 when he proposed to me. And on top if that, we met on Plenty of Fish! So you can tell why I had to have this cake topper
  17. @@vancouverpetunia thanks, means a lot coming from you So I spoke to my bootcamp instructor this week and we spoke about my goals in the lead up to the wedding. I told her that I didn't really have a weight loss goal in mind since body weight can fluctuate so much. Rather, I to,d her I wanted to tone my body, especially my stomach area. She said that I was doing well with my training and we'd focus more on food. Since we're being realistic, we'll focus on a diet of lean meats and cutting out sugars and bad carbs starting January. With the holidays, she knows it's tough. It doesn't mean I can eat everything in sight but I will start getting stricter starting Jan 1. After all, after that date, I'll only have 3 weeks left...woohoo And I've lost 1.5 lbs already! It's crazy how cutting out snacking can do a body good!
  18. Erin, I'm so happy your final payments were drama free. And sounds like the break up worked in your favour!! Lol Your final count is a great number and at least now you can make more concrete plans since you know how many are attending. And your bridesmaids' dresses are beautiful! As for your dress, I love that design. I'm sure it will turn out well. Can't wait to see the final outcome.
  19. I love your rings Dee, they go beautifully together!! Have you taken it off yet? For the first few days after I got mine, I kept trying them on together lol.
  20. @@vancouverpetunia you're hilarious, that emoticon has now taken on a who,e new meeting for me lol Thank you for the vote of confidence, I'm hoping you're right in that it goes away once I settle into my new role. I'm having a meeting with my boss to determine how long they anticipate I'd be in the interim role. It was mentioned that they may not post the vacancy until after a review is completed of our program. I was in a meeting yesterday and they briefly mentioned that it may take at least 6 months for the review to be done....yikes (Eye twitch) lol
  21. I've loved wedding planning so ask away. Like you, I was over a year away when I started planning. How far along are you in terms of your planning, have you booked vendors, sent out save the dates, etc
  22. Oh I love your legal ceremony wedding band. I think your stacked bands will go beautifully together. And that's great to hear about the videographer. I think that's such a great idea, especially to share with your mom and Sean's parents. Unfortunately we don't have room in our budget for one If the dollar wasn't so bad, perhaps we could have but we've lost a lot just in exchange rate alone. I paid off my us visa last Friday and I was so sad. It feels like money just literally disappeared. Gross lol
  23. @@calgarybride2015 it's the bottom part of my eye that's twitching, and yes it's very annoying. I've been getting sleep but maybe not good restful sleep?
