  1. Woohoo to flight deals! I'm so happy to hear you were able to catch a deal. Plus, that's a huge thing to cross of your list, congratulations
  2. @, @@deecol, @@cruisebride2016, @@acw271011, @@yycbride2016, @@maddjax Thank you ladies for all the beautiful and kind words. It really means a lot to get compliments from you all. You have amazed me with your designs and planning so compliments from you all just makes me so happy @@acw271011 Ann, thank you for the beautiful words. Your post made me teary (so I guess it's not just you and Perian who are emotional). I second your post, I too feel so blessed and grateful to have met so many wonderful women on this forum. You have all inspired me to be creative, you have all been there through the stresses and the challenges, and most of all, you have all supported me in my wedding planning. I can truly say that I have made lifelong friends thanks to BDW. AND You are absolutely right that the time has passed by so quickly and my list compared to what it was 6 months ago has gotten significantly shorter @ thank you for being you @@maddjax My onsite is Leidi Laura Guzman, who's yours? And I can't wait to meet you as well! Countdown is on for the both of us
  3. Update: So my productivity continues, yay!! Yesterday I bought some frames for our table numbers and for miscellaneous decor items for our cake table and sweetheart table. One of my decor is a framed print of lyrics to our first dance song, Thinking Out Loud. I had this custom made by the same designer who did our fan tags, Paper Confetti Co. Highly recommend her! The lyrics in script are in silver foil and will be displayed at our cake table. Another thing I finished was the look of our ring box. We were initially going to buy a ring pillow but I really didn't want to pack a lot of bulk. While I was on Weddingstar, I saw these acrylic wedding ring boxes that can be personalized. I went to Michaels and bought some artificial flowers (coral rose and dusty miller to coordinate with my bouquet) and placed it underneath the rings. The flower is there for two purposes, for decor and to prop up my ring. The slot for my wedding band is too big, especially for a thin small band. So the flower underneath props it up well. The actual ring holders is a little bit crooked with the flower underneath but who's really gonna notice. If it bothers me, I'll just add more dusty miller. Last but not least, the ever so talented @ has helped me out again. I'm really bummed that my little fur baby Waffle can't be a part of our wedding. Unfortunately she'll be in a kennel while we're away So I came up with the idea of having photos of her as our table numbers so that in a way, she could be a part of our wedding. I tried to do numbers on photos of her but it seriously looked so amateur and not at all classy. So I turned to @ for help and she sent me an example yesterday. I love them so much that I have to post what she sent me. We've decided to our engagement photos with Waffle in it so that it's part of the wedding theme. These will go in a 4x6 silver frame that I bought from Michaels. I love them so much, they turned out better than I had imagined. Thanks @ for making my dream a reality. I also bought a few things for our OOT bags and just need a few more things to complete it. Once that's all done, I'll post it on here. So that's it for now for updates. Hopefully my productivity continues which means posting a lot more frequently P.S. @, yes my Grade 2 teacher was a b*tch LOL
  4. @@ashhtayy, @@deecol and @ you ladies are making me blush! Thanks for all the compliments, I really appreciate them. If I could find my grade 2 report card, it actually says in there that I'm not creative. I have proof lol @@ashhtayy yup, all the ties are the exact same colour. We bought them online at Canadian Ties. Really quick shipping time too. For the marquee lights, I used a pencil to pencil out the holes then stabbed it with the pencil. So much easier! @ thanks hun, I can't wait to see his outfit on him. And I thought a different paper for the ampersand would make the initials pop a bit more @@deecol I know, our colour scheme is the same. Great minds think alike I'm not using the wedding dj app, we actually hired a DJ for our reception. The playlists are just for the welcome dinner, cocktail hour and getting ready. I don't need transitions or anything, it's really just for background music. And I'm glad my list is helpful, I like outlining what still needs to be done. I'll keep updating it when I think of things to add.
  5. Col's ring looks great! I agree that it looks good in the darker tone. Der and I did the same thing and wore it around the house. Der wore it though to get used to wearing it, I just joined in lol
  6. Oh yay! I was just at Michaels today and saw that there's an "M" at the store near me. Just had to check for you, just in case lol
  7. thanks @@yycbride2016, I can't wait to see Der in his full attire. I've seen his suit on him but not everything all together. I think I want to see it for the first time when I'm walking down the aisle The marquees are pretty light weight-wise and I'm keeping them in the boxes so they're not too bad to transport. They are bigger, especially with three so I see where you're coming from. What do your wooden ones look like?
  8. Awww, I love your cake topper. Your Nonna will be so happy to see you got a cake, regardless of the size. All they really want us for you to stick to the usual traditions. Der one the choice of cake flavour too so ours is red velvet lol.
  9. @ thanks hun for all the support. You've been awesome throughout my wedding planning and have never steered me wrong so I'll follow your advice @@yycbride2016 thanks so much, I love the napkin folds. I'm also glad I can tie the place cards to them so I don't have to worry about them flying away. I'll definitely let you know how the bubbles turn out Update: Ok so I've been quite productive the last few days, feeling pretty good but still lots to do. We got Der's tie and pocket square, his bestman's tie and our ring bearer's bow tie in the mail and the colour is the oerfect coral (hot coral). I've played around with Der's pocket square and he chose the three triangle peak fold. Here's a pic of it on the hanger I completely forgot to post these but @@ashhtayy reminded me last night with her post. I also saw these on @'s planning thread and knew I had to follow suit. The "J" and "D" are in solid coral and the "&" has black and white script with words related to weddings like love. I've also made our final payment to our photographer Samuel Luna and I've also sent him our wedding photography timeline and our list of must-haves for photos. I cannot wait to work with him, I've heard great reviews and seeing @@acw271011's pics just hit me even more excited. He's confirmed that he and his fiancé, Karla de la Rosa will be photographing our wedding. She takes amazing pics as well so yay!! We've also decided to extend our photography package by an hour, so now we have 6 hours of coverage. I've also finished downloading and making our playlists for our welcome BBQ, getting ready with my bridal entourage, our ceremony and the cocktail hour. Der's nephew us bringing his Beats Pill for us to use. We used Apple Music and it's awesome. So many songs to choose from, all can be downloaded and played offline, plus with the 3 month free trial, it's free!! If you're planning on using it maybe sign up for the trial closer to your wedding date. That's what we did So our to do list still includes: - send list of songs we want to the DJ (list is 90% done so this should be crossed off by tomorrow) - get one of my bridesmaids to finish placecards. She knows calligraphy so I'm taking advantage of her talent lol - finish buying OOT bag contents (Advil, Pepto, tissue, candy, etc). We've already purchased antibacterial from Bath and Body, emergen-c, and pool inflatables for kids. Then assemble everything - finish folding napkins then attach place cards - buy picture frames for displaying engagement photos - make personal appointments for nails, wax, threading and hair cut and colour) - pick up dress/final fitting (this is scheduled for this Saturday) - make binder of receipts, WC correspondences, PO from resort and vendors and vendor contracts - pack - buy flowers for ring box - test out Ativan on Der. If it doesn't work and he's still nervous, we may nix the vows. If it works, then we have to write our vows - write thank you speech - print engagement photos That's all I can think of, I'm sure there's more and I'm sure I'll remember mid sleep lol
  10. @@acw271011 your photos are beautiful, I've actually seen Karla post some of your photos on her instagram account. We were actually corresponding with Sam today, I'm so excited.
  11. Thanks @@Danielle1 I can't believe we're 20 days away! It's all going by so quickly. Pretty soon, it will be your turn
  12. Way to go @@ashhtayy! Your plan sounds awesome, I'm sure you guys will kick butt. It always helps to have a supportive person to go to the gym with, especially to get you out of bed when feeling lazy. My bootcamp instructor does that. She texts me everytime I'm not signed in for class. She invests her time to text me, and for that I'm so grateful. Please keep us posted on your progress. Your motivation and determination is awesome
  13. I hope it all works out in the end. Definitely make sure you write a review about her though, other brides should beware of her! As for the marquee letters, @ also sold me on them lol. I was actually going to post mine today since I finally got around to buying card stock. If you're having s hard time finding "M", message me and I can try to find it here. I can always ship it to you, they're pretty light. I like the gold and champagne chevron, it goes with your theme a lot more
  14. @@acw271011 I know, it's so true that time flies when your wedding planning. I swear the last year just flew by Thank you so much The colour is actually coral but they do kinda look red in the photos. I'm glad the bubbles were a hit at your wedding, I'm hoping they'll be fabulous at ours as well. And I can't wait for our photos. I hope they look as good as yours. How many photos did you end up getting?
  15. @@vancouverpetunia I'm sure I would have gained a lot more! Luckily I wasn't bad all month, which tends to happen so that may have also helped. I'm definitely back into it now. I'm so determined, I even joined the 5:30 am bootcamp on New Year's Eve since it was the only class that day! And I only drank one glass of wine
  16. @@vancouverpetunia and @@deecol you guys are awesome for continuing your workouts in December! @@vancouverpetunia congrats on the weight-loss, you'll lose your 8lbs goal in no time @@deecol Don't worry about the weight gain, with yours and Col's determination, I'm sure you'll lose it in no time! My diet went out the window this last week, starting with Christmas eve. With all the family dinners, treats and drinking, we'll I think I ate away my self discipline. I did continue my workouts but like @@deecol said, you can't out train a bad diet. So unfortunately I've gained the 2 lbs I previously lost. Well now I'm back at it and have started meal prepping. My bootcamp instructor is kicking my workouts into high gear, especially since we only have 2 weeks until we leave. Wish me luck ladies!!!
  17. @@vancouverpetunia thanks Erin. The welcome letter and itinerary bundle will go in our OOT bags which we'll be handing out during our welcome dinner.
  18. I'm glad Col allowed his pic to be posted. He looks really good in that suit. I agree with you about assembling and painting in Mexico. I wouldn't risk it either. And yup, getting excited and nervous. So close
  19. Ok so it's exactly 3 weeks until I become a Mrs. I'm beginning to get excited and nervous at the same time. I've woken up at random times in the night thinking of what needs to be done for the wedding. Clearly my procrastinating has caught up with me. So now that I'm 21 days out, I kicked up my wedding planning game. Since I've been feeling a little feverish, I stayed home and packaged up my OOT bag paper items like our Welcome Letter, week and wedding day itinerary, a resort map and a postcard with our hashtag. The design and template for our welcome letter and itineraries were all designed by the very talented @ (thank you so much). Here's what they look like bundled I also attached our tags for our fans. They say "I'm a fan of yours" and our names and wedding date. They're totally cheesy and I love them lol. I got them made from a lovely store called paperconfetti. Her designs are awesome and she's really easy to talk to. She made the text in silver foil so it will really pop in the sunshine. These fans will be on the seats for guests during the ceremony. We'll also have the bubble wands I bought from Weddingstar. They say "Our Wedding Day" in silver so it matches our tags. They'll be used for the professional Last but not least, I folded a few of our napkins, placed the napkin rings and attached the tag to be used as placecards. They'll be ribbons with tags. The napkins will be placed on top of Silver charger plates so they'll really pop on the table. One of my bridesmaids will be writing the names on the tags since she knows calligraphy. Please excuse my pathetic attempt at it lol Tomorrow I'll work on some more things and be sure to keep you all posted. P.S. I'm sorry the photos are sideways, my phone is acting up
  20. Erin, thanks for sharing the progress of your custom dress. It's so exciting and interesting to see how it's all made. So far your dress looks beautiful, I love the silhouette. Plus, in the end, it will be customized to what you want. Can't wait to see the end result. Please keep us posted P.S. I hope you've had a wonderful holiday season and an awesome start to the new year
  21. Happy New Year Dee!! It's gonna be such am exciting year for all of us I see you've been busy and productive during the holiday break. Great finds, the watches are really sharp. Your groomsmen will really like them. Col's ring looks great and his suit looks great on him. He's looking quite debonair in that outfit And your table numbers are a great find. Are they pretty lightweight? Can't wait to see what else you're planning
  22. Oh hun, I'm sorry to hear about all of the frustrations and stress from your TA. She sounds absolutely awful so rant away. I know it's easier said than done but don't let her ruin your wedding planning. Now that you know she's awful, maybe stay on top of her and harass her to get things done. I hope she does get better, and it all improves from here on out
  23. I used Paperless Post. You can make beautiful save the dates on there and email them to guests. They can directly rsvp on there and you can track who has opened your invitation too.
  24. Oh you leave so soon, I'm so excited for you. You've crossed off so many on your list, pretty soon it will all be crossed off. I'm so glad you bought the robes, especially if you really like them. It's better to not have any regrets. And speaking of no regrets, your dress is absolutely gorgeous on you! I still remember your first post about your dress and the transformation is amazing.
