  1. @@KatieMcBride that is a great package!! I would pay that in a heartbeat. Thanks for the tip, I've actually started going that route. How was your engagement session? The snow must have been a beautiful backdrop! Being a Vancouver girl, we only get snow a handful of times during the winter. This year I think it only snowed once! We've been having spring weather for over a month now (not bragging lol)
  2. @nadiakat OOH so exciting! Good luck on the rehearsal dress hunt. And all the best and safe travels this Saturday! Breathe and enjoy every minute of it. Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back
  3. I agree with everyone, I love your planning thread and the treehouse proposal! Your fiancé is so sweet to get your lost necklace remade. And if that wasn't sweet enough, he added a proposal. Sigh, so romantic And what is this bridal robe from target? @, what does it look like, do I need to take a lunch break at target? Lol
  4. @@Meandhim I love your planning thread. I love your honesty, your perseverance and your love for your family. I commend your Nan for being such a strong woman. Cancer sucks and has hit me close to home, my dad died of intestinal cancer and my mom has had breast cancer (thank God she's all clear now). I can't wait to read more about your planning!
  5. @@palmtree99, how did I miss your planning thread? I love all of your ideas, especially the "in loving memory" picture frames. So thoughtful of you. First things first, I love your wedding dress! It's beautiful on you, and I don't see arm fat. We call them bat wings at our gym and we've been doing weights to try to get rid of them. Lol I love cruises too and have actually gone on a number of Norwegian cruises. We went on the Epic last November and absolutely loved it! Their service is great, facilities are awesome and food is really good! I like the freestyle concept so I can eat when I want to. I never thought about a cruise wedding and wish I had thought of it, great idea!
  6. Congratulations @@MrsCtoB! You looked so beautiful on your wedding day, and you look so happy
  7. I love Kate Spade! Regardless of where you put it, it's gonna be a gorgeous decor
  8. @@veryvalentine I love everything you've done so far. I actually really like that cake topper, though I can see how ppl wouldn't get it. Is it Kate Spade too?
  9. Wishing you a wonderful wedding day!!! I hope it all goes well and I can't wait to see your pics
  10. @ I went with a ruffled ballgown I absolutely fell in love with the ruffles and the champagne colour. For a ballgown, it's not heavy so that's great. I'll see if I can find a pic of it online and email it to you! The mermaid style will look so beautiful on you since you're tall and gorgeous I tried on a trumpet and it was my second choice. Sample sales are great, I'm glad we both benefitted from them lol.
  11. @@dwesle we got engaged June 2014, I bought my beautiful wedding dress in October 2014 and we're getting married January 2016 I wasn't expecting to say yes to the dress so early but a local bridal shop was having a sample sale and I thought it wouldn't hurt to go. I too didn't want to break the bank on my dress. I told the consultant it was my first fitting and had noticed which silhouette would work for me. As she was talking, one dress caught my eye and I immediately grabbed it and asked to try it on. Lo and behold, the first dress I tried on was the one! I tried on 4 more dresses afterwards with different silhouettes and textures but none compared to the first dress. So I tried it on again and happily said yes to the dress and at 30% off, that was the cherry on top! To date I still love the dress and have not had any regrets. The hardest thing is maintaining the same size to save costs in alterations lol
  12. The jewellery looks so beautiful and classy!! They'll both go so well together
  13. Thanks @@FutureMrsGarcia. I actually bought my bags during their last sale. My fiancé thought I was nuts for buying the bags a year in advance but at 50% off, I couldn't let that deal pass!
  14. @@FutureMrsGarcia & @ the last one they had was in early November, an early Black Friday special. It was 50% off. They are long overdue for one!
  15. The fans came out beautifully! This may be another idea I'm going to have to steal from you. Definitely pack them in Rubbermaid containers, it would be a shame if those orchids got crushed.
  16. I love that you're honoring your children during your ceremony! absolutely love it!!!
  17. The Facebook forum that's quite active is called Forum for Palace & Hard Rock Resorts Brides & Destination Weddings A bonfire sounds great, I can't believe it's $350 for just the firewood!
  18. @@JoannaBanana I thought I was the only bride who has encountered a fiancé who wants a "wedding watch". I read your post out loud to him and his reply, "I like her fiancé, he's a smart man". He's in construction do also can't wear a ring at work but I told him that i want him to still wear a ring because of what it stands for. Plus, I'd like to exchange rings during the ceremony, not slip a watch on her wrist! He can't wear any jewellery at all to work so that argument won't work for me! We don't quite have the same problem as you with the ring finger so we've agreed to get a ring, just one that's not super expensive. We still have to go get rings do not sure what he'll choose. As a surprise, I am getting him a watch as a wedding present. I'll have my nephew bring it to his room before the ceremony and I'll have a tag on it that will say, "I can't wait to see you at 3:00, when we officially become husband and wife".
  19. It actually states in your contract that you can't bring your own flowers? Wow, that's a bit strict isn't it? And you can't bring your own napkins? I find that so weird that the rules change so much between Hard Rock and Palace Resorts, especially since they're both owned by the same company! There's another company I was looking at for robes, weddingprepgals.com They have lots of colors, including coral and I believe gold. Not sure about quality though. I do agree that unlined will be good since it will be hot. I really love your fans, maybe packing them in little Rubbermaid containers and then pack that in your luggage will save them from getting squished. My friend recently went to a destination wedding and she said fans would be really nice to have. Even if the don't use it, they'll add a nice touch of color and personalization to your ceremony decor.
  20. @, those are the bangles I was talking about. I love Kate Spade, and she has a whole bridal accessories line now. Definitely getting these. Kinda regret not getting them last year with 30%promo code and a better exchange rate! And hold off on the weddingchicks bag. I bought mine last November and they had a 50% promo code. They haven't had any promotions since then so I'm sure something will pop up soon. We got the design that says, "for away with us" @@SteeleTheSpotlight I love all the ideas!! Did you see that Kate spade has a sale going on? i really want the gramercy locket that's on sale, or even the "say yes" necklace. Do the bangles fit small or big? I have small wrists and am afraid that the bangle may be too big on my wrist. Ok so I'll try to help with some of your questions. - napkins: have you tried linentablecloths.com? They have coral napkins, table runners, table cloths and chair sashes. - fans: love the geometric print ribbon and absolutely love the idea of hot glueing the flowers. That will look so pretty and add a great touch of color - flowers: have you tried contacting mayafloral.com to see if they can help? A lot of brides have used them (you can search for them on this site for reviews) and have just had the flowers dropped off at the lobby to avoid the outside vendor fee. - robes: I say get them robes if you're planning on "getting ready" pics. It will look great in pictures! Hope that kinda helps
  21. @@LMichelleB congratulations!!! I've been meaning to email you but I really didn't want to bother you while you were away. You look gorgeous in those pics, your dress is beautiful! I'm sorry to hear that Beach Palace had so many problems, but at least your wedding went well. And thank you so much for your review of PSAV. I've also booked with them so I'm glad to hear they were great. What type of music did you request? I'm glad you had a great time at Le Blanc. That's a great tip to go there for a mini honeymoon. I've heard it's absolutely beautiful there!
  22. @@marinah84 I've just read your "horrible update" and I'm so sorry to hear this. I. Sending you tons of positive, healing vibes! You're such a strong woman and I hope no surgery is needed. Maybe relaxing poolside will be the best medicine for you. After all, you are supposed to be off your feet And the olive oil pourers are a great idea! Does the sand pour easily with the narrow spout? Maybe do a test run to see speed of pour, just in case the opening is too narrow. The jamberry nail wraps sound fantastic!
  23. Yay, you started a planning thread! I love all of the planning threads because you guys all give me so many things to consider, and your lessons-learned are great for all of us who are still planning. So apparently you and I have lots in common. Not only do we both have Starbucks as a first date location but we both met our future hubbies online! We met on Plenty of Fish. I was so reluctant to go online dating and was embarrassed too but had I not gone on it, I would have never met my fiancé! And your proposal is absolutely romantic! What a great engagement story. So appropriate that you're having your engagement photos there too. Can't wait for more posts, love everything do far! P.S. Our colors are coral and grey. More on the pinky end of coral spectrum though
  24. @@SteeleTheSpotlight tanks for all the promo codes! My wallet really hates you now lol I'm so glad you're also collecting dresses. We have such a long wait before the wedding so I can take advantage of sales on dresses And I agree with you about the photos. I'm reluctant to go with just anyone since photos are important to me too. And thanks for the tip on Starbucks! I'll check Pinterest. @@yasminea84 great price! So far haven't come across any photographers for that price @@tygrrlily I've heard that Isla Mujeres is beautiful, it must have been a great location for your shoot! What didn't you like about your dress? Any tips and advice would be great!
  25. @@SteeleTheSpotlight thanks so much for the links! I just checked out lulus.com and automatically fell in love with so many dresses! My wallet may hate you for this It really is hard finding white dresses, at least one that's not see though and flattering. Is it sad that I've already been collecting a few to wear to Mexico? You must be so excited for your shower, your wedding wait is almost over. Thanks for the well wishes. I haven't heard back from them but am hoping for the best. I may just have to suck it up and pay $600. They take such great pics, it's one less thing to worry about. Snow would be great, unfortunately we don't have any at all this year. I'm exactly like you in wanting a different setting than a beach, especially since we'll have those pics during our wedding. My fiancé wants a creek side setting and I'd like an urban one. Funny enough, we also had our first date at Starbucks and I love your idea of taking a photo there. I may gave to steal your idea, hope that's ok. See, now I'm at three locations and so far only 1 photographer has offered this. And congrats on your new home!
