  1. @@tbone12 I don't think I've heard of this happening at Moon Palace. My wedding coordinator is being moved to another Palace so I'm being assigned a new one, but she emailed me to let me know and we're doing an official hand over this week. Who is/was your coordinator?
  2. Haha, I guess I am quite passionate about this option so you're right, I should do this one. It may look funny but I know that Derrick will love this surprise. Thanks for the input ladies
  3. @@moonpalacebride2be I love your dress! I love the bottom part and the trim/hem.
  4. @@veryvalentine I'm so sorry that you're going through such a stressful time. I can just imagine how stressed you are but at least you still have 3 months to work towards your goal. If it's a mistake on the store's part with ordering the wrong size, I am certain that they'll do their best to fix their mistake. If not, don't you worry, like all the ladies have already said, you're not the first person this has happened to and I'm sure there are many ways to fix this. It's great you have an appt tomorrow so at least you'll get answers and come up with solutions asap! And don't be so hard on yourself, you've been through so much with your health and burn accident. You're getting through those, and you'll get through this one too. You're such a strong woman, just another hurdle that you can get over And I love that papel picado cake topper! I can't wait to see everything come together, including you looking hot in your wedding dress (not your pj's)
  5. @@smileitseb wow, you look amazing in your dress! It hugs your bode perfectly and shows off your sexy curves
  6. Wow, your CDs turned out great!!! Love that idea and such a great way to build up the excitement
  7. @@TinkerSofi @@veryvalentine and @@calgarybride2015 a part of me thinks that it should be private when we open our presents to each other and I agree that I may be so nervous that I forget it but on the other hand, I would love to see his reaction when I take the wedding watch and say our vows. He's been bugging me that a wedding watch is more his style but I want him to wear a wedding band. So I think he'll love actually being presented a watch. I was thinking of getting a box to place our wedding rings and I could place the watch in there to remind me. We will be saying our own vows so I can incorporate that the watch represents every minute of our lives we'll spend with one another. @@veryvalentine I love the engraving if a double infinity and "you and me". Now I'm getting emotional lol
  8. @@veryvalentine Derrick loves watches too. He actually jokes around that he'd rather have a "wedding watch" than a wedding ring. Lol So as a wedding gift, I'm getting him a watch. I'm trying to decide which way to present it: 1) give it to him before the ceremony with a tag that will either say "see you at 3 pm" our ceremony time or "looking forward to spending every minute of my life with you" Or 2) surprise him during the ceremony and present him with both a wedding ring and his wedding watch. What do you guys think?
  9. Congrats @@kcole123! Enjoy your day and I hope your hubby is feeling better
  10. @@GingerBride that dress looks gorgeous on you! I don't think it's too full on the bottom and think it's a nice silhouette on you. I love the belt as it adds an embellishment and gives you an hour glass figure. And don't you worry about not wearing a "destination" wedding gown. You wear whatever you want to wear, it's your wedding day!
  11. @@Mrsktobe would you mind sending me the template too? Please and thanks, I'll pm you my email address
  12. Wow, Juan looks great in that suit. That colour looks sharp, absolutely love it. Yes, Where did he get the suit from again?
  13. @@misbosox thanks for the update! I still don't understand how they're going to define what a "professional" camera will look like. My brother in law has a digital SLR camera and I know he'll take photos but he's not our photographer. We've hired a professional and paying the external vendor fee, are they now going to charge us twice if he takes pictures? @@FutureMrsSam I missed the second part of your question. We chose to use the complimentary package as I wanted to customize and personalize the look of both our ceremony and reception. With the complimentary, you get a restaurant reservation. If a private event, it comes with standard table, white tablecloth and standard chairs. No centerpieces or decor.
  14. @@snswedding2016 Happy 4 year anniversary! I love the billy miner pie! It's our tradition to go to the keg on our anniversary. Our anniversary coincides with the annual Dine Out festival here in Vancouver and a 3 course meal at the Keg is $40. So good and such a great deal
  15. @@kcole123 oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that Nathan may have shingles. My FI had that last year when he got really stressed out since I was sick with pneumonia for over a month. He was in awful pain and he had a ring of red bumps across his stomach. It lasted about two weeks with the first week being the worst of the two. Hopefully if it is shingles, it will heal quickly or the pain at least subsides by the time your wedding comes.
  16. You are crossing off quite a bit on that list, I'm so impressed! I hope I'm as organized as you when I'm down to 14 days before our wedding. You must be so excited!
  17. @@moonpalacebride2be you are very welcome we all have to help each other out! I hope Styling Trio contacts you soon, since they're so great but if they don't reply back, it would be quite annoying. I agree that the packages are great in terms of logistics but we Canadians have fewer options in terms of air carriers. @@FutureMrsSam we booked with Transat
  18. @@FutureMrsSam Air Transat and Sunwing don't go to Mexico in the summer? I didn't know that! Yes, like @@calgarybride2015 said, it should be much cheaper as a package. And you should get perks for booking as a group. We got every 11th person free @@moonpalacebride2be I don't know how they'd enforce that? Would they ban all cameras? Lol I just checked my email messages and when I initially contacted them, they didn't reply after 5 days so I sent them a follow-up email in case my first one got lost in transit. I got an email the next day apologizing as the person checking the email then was on vacation. After that, they were wonderful and very prompt at replying to my messages. I dealt with Yonatan who is fabulous! We even had a Skype meeting to get to know each other and discuss my vision so he could determine which stylists would work best for my style and vision. I understand why you'd reconsider, especially if you haven't had a reply in a week but perhaps give it another few days. They have had so many great reviews and it's a vendor that I feel I don't have to worry about. IF they don't get back to you, I believe Palace has two approved vendors for stylists. I could be wrong but I thought there was another one. Let me check on here for you and I'll post if I find it Found it ???? So according to another thread, MVP is also an approved styling vendor. I found it on this thread http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/78894-palace-approved-vendors/ I suggest checking with your wedding coordinators first, especially since they've made so many changes to the wedding rules/fees/vendors
  19. @@misbosox I have not heard anything about that, though my coordinator has told me that they've changed a lot of things this year. So far my wedding coordinator has honored all my old contract info, as long as it was already addressed or booked. For example, the old outside photographer vendor fee will be honored since I booked him before the change. I didn't book my DJ until this year so the new electricity fee would have applied had I gone with an outside dj vendor. In your case, I'd say print out that email as proof that they said there are no charges for your guest to film your wedding. They should honor that!
  20. I don't know why I just found your planning thread but I'm glad I did! You have so many great ideas and you are so organized. Great job with everything so far. Your dress, jewellery, hair piece and OOT cups/inserts are great. And thank you for listing your playlist, so handy
  21. Yes, trust yourself more often. Everything you've chosen for your wedding, whether it be your wedding dress, or even your jewellery, they have all been beautiful and shows you have excellent taste! And salsa for your first dance? I wish my fiancé knew how to dance, or even liked it a little bit!
  22. @@TinkerSofi the shoes you got from Nordstrom are beautiful! They are more versatile in colour so you can definitely wear them again. I'm not sure if you want to do this but perhaps you can post a photo of you wearing the dress with shoes. Then maybe we can see wgat you're saying about how it doesn't quite go. You may also have had a vision of what your shoes were supposed to look like (white and bridal) and that image in your head is throwing you off. Anything goes with shoes now, it's whatever you as the bride are happiest wearing should be worn Another option is ordering one of the David's bridal shoes to compare, can you return any of the shoes? I like the heeled non-wedge better but they both look nice. And your mom's dress is beautiful, so glad you averted crisis mode if she didn't find a dress off the rack.
  23. @@KatyM81 wow, you must be do excited!!! I wish you well during your wedding week and hope you have a great time! Please let us know how it turns out
  24. Hi @@CanuckGal and congrats on your engagement! So glad to see another BC bride, where in BC? I'm from Surrey (no jokes please lol). Please let me know if you need help with anything. This forum is so great and all the bride's here are so helpful!
