  1. What a beautiful story. Isn't it funny when we look in hindsight, and realize how little things like reluctantly going to the networking event could change your life? And thank you for sharing your budget ☺️
  2. I'm jealous of your guests' early arrival @@veryvalentine. I guess I'm going to have to accept that this is cutting it too close. Plus if we don't make it in time, I think we'll get charged for organizing the private event. That wouldn't be a great start to the week!
  3. @@KatyM81 congratulations and thank you so much for your review! @@TheBHolders I have never heard of a $1000 fee to use the ballroom, is that new? I know you've always asked for the ballroom, did they not tell you this when you requested this venue? I'm so angry for you! Check your contract because I'm pretty sure that the on,y extra location fee that was mentioned was for locations like the beach and the grand terrace. And I'm surprised that your contract had $800 outside vendor fee for photographers. I thought they had just recently (Jan 2015) changed it to $800. So the $400 was only done for Oct-Dec?
  4. @@veryvalentine I'm like you and I don't really want to wait for a whole day to pass before getting to know each other. BUT I agree with @ that half day of traveling will be exhausting. We're all departing out of Vancouver so the flight will be 5 hours long, then we have to take into account time change. I think the earliest arrival would be 4 pm. Too close right?
  5. @@veryvalentine, I agree with @ to present your welcome bag at your welcome dinner. Check-in may be chaotic and your guests may have their hands full with their own luggage and even a welcome drink! I love the idea of a separate table to display them! It's funny how you guys mentioned the little things bc the welcome dinner is what I'm fixated on at the moment. We would really like to have it the first night but not sure what our flight times are at the moment. Do you think it would be safer to just schedule it the next day??
  6. Wow, Del Sol lives up to their reputation once again! Absolutely beautiful pics. Can't wait to see the rest
  7. @@veryvalentine woohoo, that's absolutely amazing! I'm sorry for the added alterations cost but your determination definitely paid off. I can't wait to see you in the dress, you're gonna look amazing
  8. Congrats! Can't wait for your pics. Wishing you a beautiful and enjoyable wedding week
  9. @@Lorraine222 I concur with the ladies, such a beautiful setting and decor arrangement
  10. @@calgarybride2015, that would have made for a hilarious video lol. Can you imagine getting really excited to view the video only to find out it was just a footage of your hubby's chest. Kinda reminds me of those photos of Pinterest fails
  11. @veryvalentne that venue is gorgeous! I love the papel picado, where did you get that from? And 6 inch loss? Congrats to you! Such an inspiration to hear what dedication and determination can achieve! I'm certain that your dress fitting will go well ☺️
  12. @@TinkerSofi I haven't been on here as much as I'd like so I'll try to keep this short. - I'm sorry to hear about all the drama with Juan's friend. I'm glad it worked out in the end and his gf isn't going. Don't ever feel like you get penalized for helping people out. It just goes to show how selfless you and Juan are for helping ppl out, even if it means more stress on your part. I know it's naive of me to think his friend must feel awful that he's caused you stress but, at least you guys know you did your part and no one can fault you give that - playlist looks great. I love your song choices and I hope you don't mind but I may steal some of your ideas. I love the story about your father and daughter dance. Great choice as it means a lot to both of you - I'm glad to hear you got the chicken cutlets and foot petals! Make sure you test out the cutlets to make sure they have good staying power. I'd hate to hear that they've ended up on your be,my again lol - I love the vase! I'll have to check out ikea for frames, I keep forgetting that they have great stuff like that
  13. @@jenna85 you and I have the same wedding date ☺ I've also booked Styling Trio, they were one of the first vendors I booked. After reading all the great reviews about them I knew I had to book them. Plus they're an approved vendor for Palace resorts so at least I don't have to pay vendor fees
  14. I love the sparkler tag, it will look so nice! And I love the pinata idea, it sounds so fun. I don't think there's anywhere to hang it on the terrace where we're having our reception
  15. Wow, you look gorgeous!! All the pics are beautiful and it looks like you guys had a blast! Congratulations!!
  16. Congratulations, such a great teaser shot! I can't wait to see the rest of the pics and hear about your wonderful wedding week ☺️
  17. @@TinkerSofi and @@acw271011 the sticky backing in those silicone bras are really good! At the end of the night, they were still on my chest. Yet, they were so easy to peel off! Like the pasties, just make sure you put the plastic sheet back so lint doesn't get on them and the adhesive doesn't dry (I guess). The further you place the chicken cutlets away from each other, the more of a cleavage you get when you clasp the middle. I'm not well endowed up there so I've taken advantage of this feature lol
  18. @@acw271011 how did I miss your thread? I read from the beginning and I'm so glad I found it. You have wonderful ideas and your taste in wedding dresses is great! I love the story about how you and your hubby met and I admire your strength. I'm so glad that you guys are renewing your vows.
  19. @@TinkerSofi those chicken cutlets lasted a long time and were comfy. They never ended up on my belly and I think that would've been so funny if it did happen. I do believe you have to have dry skin with no lotions to make sure they stay. And I agree that it also freaks me out when I forget I have the nipple pasties on. The silicone ones totally blend in with my skin and it looks like I have no nipples at all So believe it or not, I last bought the silicone adhesive bras at one of those kiosks in the middle of the mall. You know, the ones that sell curlers, cell phone covers, etc. you can check those out but not certain if they still sell them. In case they don't, I fund some research and the U.S. website for David's Bridal says they sell them for $31. http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Silicone-Adhesive-Bra-SIM
  20. @@TinkerSofi, after seeing the shoes with your dress, I do agree with everyone that the champagne doesn't look as vibrant and completely gets washed out. The pink looks nice and since they match Juan's tie, I say go for the pink! I have worn the sticky strapless bras, I used to call the chicken cutlets because they totally look like them lol. They did not come off, even when I was sweating. The ones I had clasped in the middle so if you placed the cutlets further from each other and clasped them, you'd get more cleavage. So they were good at giving the girls some oomph, and there were no straps and were backless so they were great. They were also gel like so they weren't stiff and looked natural. If you are young to use them, I say get them before your next fitting because they will obviously add some size to your bust, not a lot but some.
  21. @@calgarybride2015 I was in PV last year and to me it seemed like the sunsets were pretty quick! They were beautiful! But I agree, wedding coordinators or even photographers in cabo would be the best to ask
  22. Hi @@Victoriabride I checked online and on Feb 1, sunset is supposed to be around 6 pm http://www.timeanddate.com/sun/mexico/cabo-san-lucas?month=2&year=2016 According to a number of photographers, ideal light is an hour before sunset so in your case, 5 pm is ideal for photos. Keep in mind that sunsets there are not like ours here, it comes and goes quite quickly. Basically the sun sets really fast and it's dark out before you know it!
  23. @@TinkerSofi I love both of them too! I'm a sucker for brightly coloured shoes but I actually like the champagne ones more. I like the sparkle of the champagne. I don't know if you'll be walking on carpet at all at the resort but you can always buy grips from Walmart that you just stick to the sole for traction. I would also suggest getting some foot petals for the balls of you feet. It may be me but if it's hot, my feet can sweat and if I'm in heels, my feet sometimes slips and you get the ugly toe hang lol. These will keep your feet in place
  24. Hugs back to you @@calgarybride2015, I'm glad you had many years with your mom! I'm sure she's watching over your kids ???? and hugs to all you ladies too. I made myself cry while writing the post! Derrick got concerned lol I don't know how I'm gonna keep my composure when I say my speech to my mom. Thank god for waterproof mascara!
