  1. @@deecol I had no idea it would get so played out when we initially picked it last year. When I told Derrick that I wanted to change it, he actually got upset. He usually doesn't care about things like that but he says it now means something to him because he thinks of us when he hears the song. How can I say no to that! And I agree, it is still a great song. You and I chose a great song
  2. That's awesome @@deecol. For our last anniversary before the wedding, we were out for dinner and our first dance song, Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran played in the radio. I got super excited lol. I wanted to change our song now that it's overplayed but Der says we can't, we have memories with it now. Lol
  3. Oh I'm stressing out about one bridesmaid. I didn't expect her to come to Mexico since it was too pricey for her. She's the only one with kids and it was financially difficult for them. But last minute, she worked out her budget with her husband and she's now coming! So now we're frantically looking for a dress since we're calling it close with a little over 4 months till the wedding. She's been really picky and didn't like anything from David's bridal. So now we're still on the hunt. I got a promotion at work so I thought paying for their dress was the least I could do. They've been by my side since I was 8, and that type of friendship is priceless ☺️ @@vancouverpetunia I totally remember that episode! I can wear kid's size shoes but I'm too curvy to fit their clothes lol
  4. @@ValentineMrs2Be I am so glad your FI is responding well to treatment. You've both been through a lot and I'm so glad that despite all the adversities, you've both been optimistic. I'm sure I speak for a lot when I say that we will be more than happy to help you plan. Congrats on planning, you'll be at your 30 day countdown again before you know it xoxo
  5. @@calgarybride2015 I did the same. I had my bridesmaids pick any grey dress they want. Surprisingly I wasn't as controlling as I thought I'd be. I'm paying for their dresses and so far all have chosen under $200. One picked a $350 dress and I said no way!
  6. @@yycbride2016 oh that sucks. What are you looking for in terms of looks (straps, slip ons, colour, etc), I'll keep you in mind when I do my usual shoe shopping.
  7. @@calgarybride2015 Yup, you can still get away with buying children's shoes. Works well for fun flats/runners like Toms, Keds and Vans, plus they're cheaper lol
  8. I love your hashtag! Yeah, the upgrade quote might not go well with your family lol. I even thought of #FromBrideToBrade
  9. @@yycbride2016 Oh really, even size 6.5? It's sad, sometimes a size 5 is still big on me! Have you found your shoes yet?
  10. Thanks @@yycbride2016! It's so hard finding cute wedges in size 5. I went to the Badgley Mischka website and the smallest they had were size 5.5. Luckily I found them on another site, and on sale too! Woohoo
  11. How did I miss your post from yesterday? Your fiancé is so sweet, I love the flowers. I'm glad your anniversary turned out well, so happy for you guys
  12. @@acw271011 thank you so much! I actually prefer shoe whore but shoe south works fine too I saw your two pairs of blue wedding shoes and am so jealous! The options would have been more if our ceremony was on a terrace but we really wanted a beach ceremony. @@vancouverpetunia thank you so much!
  13. @@yycbride2016 great job with sticking to your daily allotted calories and for losing 2.5 lbs! You have such great motivation, I love it! @@deecol you go girl! Can you share healthy work lunch ideas? I always get stuck thinking of healthy options! @@JoannaBanana I would argue that you're showing quite the motivation with your restraint. Food's my weakness! @ I was bad with you! I'll blame it on the power outage I was gonna workout yesterday but I had to take Waffle to the vet. The poor girl was whimpering in pain and scratched her ears raw, she has an ear infection. Unfortunately the only available appt they had conflicted with bootcamp. My little Waffle is more important than working out! But today I'm happy to say I did Pilates and have not eaten out! Woohoo @@Janjin weekends are so hard on our waistlines. We're going camping this weekend so I'm not gonna be the healthiest.
  14. Thanks @ they're super comfy! I love the floral ruffle, it matches my dress. And I'll mention your jealousy to Derrick lol. He's the one who custom built it, down to the height of my boots. That man sure knows how to make me happy
  15. I love your rings and agree that stacked rings look really nice. My fingers are too short for more rings Good call on the bose system, I hear they're really good!
  16. Wedding Shoes I love shoes, I am addicted to shoes! My lovely FI even made me a shoe wall when we renovated one of our bedrooms into a walk-in closet. So when it came time to finding my wedding shoes, well this took longer than finding my wedding dress LOL Right away I was torn on what to wear since our ceremony is on the beach and our reception is on a terrace. I initially wanted to wear those beautiful barefoot sandals on the beach but I wanted to wear heels for the reception. This posed a problem when it came to alterations; my dress could be too long for the ceremony (horrific images of me stepping on my gown and falling on my face comes to mind) or too short for the reception. Plus, I really didn’t want to have to bring a change of shoes on our wedding day. Having worn wedges as a bridesmaid at my friend’s destination wedding, I thought wedges would be the perfect solution. I initially looked for blue shoes so I can use them as my something blue but I couldn’t find any blue wedges. I looked through so many places and it’s really hard to find ones in my size. One day I was looking through the Badgley Mischka website and I found these beautiful pink wedges and knew I had to have them (pink was afterall my favourite colour). I searched online and found them at 6pm.com for $65 off SOLD! So these are my shoes. They’re so light and easy to walk in. I’m excited to take my getting ready photos while slipping on these beauties!
  17. Wow, I love your photos! He did a great job. Do you even need editing? Lol
  18. @@deecol thanks for the support ☺️ I hate power outages and have never had it last this long! It's so sad how much food I'm throwing away. Luckily we had a mini generator that we were able to use to power our deep freeze. We went on a fishing trip last month and if it wasn't for our generator, we would have had to throw out 93lbs of salmon. That would have been depressing!
  19. @@deecol, I know it's one day early but happy 4 year anniversary!! That's so sweet that you want to plan something special. Since it may be too late for dinner, dessert is a great idea. Do you bake? Maybe make him his favourite dessert? Or how about champagne and chocolate covered strawberries? I know you're trying to limit alcohol consumption but your anniversary doesn't count
  20. @@deecol thanks for the motivation and the encouraging words! I'm sorry I've been MIA, we had a bad storm here in BC and we just got our power back after 48 hours with no electricity. With no power meant I ate a lot of crap. Take out was all we could do Well now it's time to kick it in gear! I will be cutting off fast food the rest of this week and I'm going to kick butt in bootcamp today!!! @@Meandhim welcome to our group! I'm glad you've joined us! @@calgarybride2015 great job over the weekend! That's great that you guys went out for a family activity. Hikes are a great way to get out, exercise and get some fresh air. I was gonna take the dog out a lot this weekend since we had nothing else to do bc of the power outage. Once our neighbour's tree toppled over, we figured being outside probably wasn't a good thing
  21. @@Meandhim I love your menu design! My brother and sister-in-law had one if those but used it as placecards. It was so cute!
  22. @@yycbride2016 wow, again I bow down to your crafting ability! Sigh, to have but an ounce of your skills. You ladies are seriously gonna give me a complex LOL Everything you've done so far has tied well together and looks so professionally done. As per many of the previous brides' suggestions, I would also suggest having your table numbers weighted. The wind may play tricks on you and blow them away. That was the reason why I opted for place cards attached to napkins As for photography, I concur with @ and think photography is such an integral part of the wedding. Like her, I researched photographers and was actually the first vendor we booked. We went with Samuel Luna, have you looked at his website? I've heard so many great things about him and fell in love with his photographic style. We're going with a 5 hour package and am aiming for having pics of all the things you've listed minus the cake cutting. In order to accommodate, we're going to set our first dance right after we enter our reception. That way, we'll have the beautiful sunset too. If it's based on those two photographers, do you think Lancelotti is worth the $500 extra? It's basically your choice but based on their websites, both seem really talented. Perhaps the deciding factor can be testimonials?
