uh-oh, how expensive are the resort center pieces? I still havent heard from the wedding coordinator at Barcelo So i am still living vicariously through you!!! What if you did something like this? I know you don't want flowers but you can bring colour and height with pinwheels! they are super easy to make too look how simple and pretty!

We specifically said your presence is present enough no gifts. With that said, we still have a registry as there are still some people who will want to buy you a gift, the ones who can't make it or even for showers, engagement parties etc. It doesn't hurt to have one and no you will not look greedy

Do it! I think it is a wonderful choice Shows how much she means to you. Perhaps I would even put it out there to your current MOH and say, if you are unable to save up and make the trip for my special day I have someone else that is willing to stand up for me. This way you take pressure off of her (she has an out) and you take a whole load of stress off of you!! I found for us our deadline was pretty short for people to make a down payment. In Canada we have a 90 window. I was freaking out the last two weeks of the 90 days but I'm happy to say everyone waited to the very last minute to make a down payment and book. When you think about it people like to hold on to their money right until the very last minute. Maybe your current MOH isn't aware that she can pay this trip off in installments? So have you heard more from the wedding coordinator at Barcelo? I still haven't heard anything sigh...

We keep getting asked the same question. I always say no, it's not in the plan. The response is you should really think about it, not everyone can go. I'm sorry not everyone can go but our choice was a DW. The one person who can't that I wish could be there is my Grandmother. So we are going to be married legally at city hall and she will be my witness ☺️ She loves this idea!

@@cfinkenbine we did confirm our date and time with the resort through our travel agent. Most of our guests have put their down payment for the trip. I'm wondering if we have to put a down payment with the resort for our package before hearing from the WC? There is still a lot of time so I won't panic yet

I would like to hear about your visit @@cometgirl What did you like most about the Barcelo resorts? We have chosen Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe. We have never been there but everything that we have researched has been great and we are very much looking forward to our wedding there.

Here's something that I have been struggling with. The deadline for our guests is on October 12th. It seems a lot of people didn't read the wedding website our travel agent did up for us, even though we had it on the save the date cards. A few weeks ago we created a facebook wedding page and we indicated the deadline date and we made an announcement at our engagement BBQ. I have been nudged to send out an email, would this be going to far?

Hi @@arogers315! Congratulations to you too!! I did some research first and fell in love with a resort in Jamaica. But in the end we didn't choose it. We went to a travel agent who specializes in destination weddings. No need to hire a wedding planner! you will get one free from the resort We told the travel agent what was important to us and she came back with multiple resorts and the quotes. We were able to choose from there after we did our own research It was great because she did all the running around for us, she is even in contact with the resort to set up the package etc and one all is booked the wedding planner will be in touch with us. We chose destination so we wouldn't have any stress and right now it's pretty stress free! Good luck and I'd be happy to keep in touch so we can compare notes, idea and what not. We have chosen to have just a MOH and Best Man. Simple is best and it's nice to have someone stand up with you to share in the moment. We will be having a small wedding of 30 so really there was no need to have more than two standing with us.

We decided to choose only a Best Man and Maid of Honour. We didn't want to choose between our friends and or siblings in law. We both chose our best mates and that was it. However in my case, I do have another girlfriend who has been so amazing with helping me organize that I have given her the honorary bride's maid title! lol she would rather keep it that way and not be an actual bride's maid so i will be gifting her to show my thanks. I wish you lots of strength to get through this time with your sis in law. Sounds like she may be a little jealous that you are entering the family and she likes being the only sister in law. This is your day and you don't need to include her on all the planning and dress finding visits if you don't want, especially if she causes you this much grief.

Hello! So a few months ago my fiance and I got engaged. We had always talked about a destination wedding. Originally my sights were set on Jamaica but his was set on Mexico. in the end after research we decided on Mexico - Barcelo Maya Palace Deluxe! I can't begin to say how happy and excited we are. The resort looks amazing. I was recently at a bridal show and all the travel agents that I spoke with there were saying nothing but great things about this resort. I would love to hear from anyone who has been there Our wedding will be relatively small. Maybe 30 guests in total. So we are thinking about the Mint Breeze package...anyone else chose this one? I am curious about how to choose our photographer. I know this resort charges us $500 extra to have an outside photographer. I'm really not certain on prices or what to even look for so any advice would be awesome. Next is welcome bags. Who is doing a welcome bag and what are you including in yours?
