@@isaroy We also chose the Mint Breeze package. The reason why we chose this is because we are going to be outside a lot during our stay and we thought for dinner (only 3 hours - unless you pay for longer) a little air conditioning would be a nice treat at dinner time. We were really stuck between this package and the Strawberry Passion one. We aren't staying at the Palace so I am not sure what the banquet rooms look for you. The room we have looks nice and you can have it decorated nicely. again for 3 hours out of the whole week of outdoor festivities I truly think it will be a welcomed moment. The DJ or dance floor is not included in the package. If you look online all the Barcelo page you will see all the packages with the inclusions and the additional costs. The Mint Breeze does include a sound system that you can hook up your iPod or use CDs for music during dinner. I was also told that there was a microphone available for your MC and speeches. Once you are set up with a wedding coordinator you will be taken step by step through the process of your planning. They are very organized. I have to say that my WC is wonderful, she is very fast at getting back to you with replies. I have Tania D. Good luck if you have any question you can send me a private message!

@@OL88 My spreadsheet said the banquet room was available from 6:00 to 10:00. we didn't want to extend the hours but I have a feeling we could extend to 11:00 or later but there was a cost. I can't seem to find how much they would charge. If I find it I will post here for you. We are just going to move our party to the Jaguars Club.

@@veryvalentine What a great idea! I think I will look into this with my wedding coordinator like @@dreamweddings suggested. I don't want the stress or bother of shopping for stuff before my wedding. I prefer to just enjoy with my friends and family. So glad you posted this! I would never have thought of this- 8 replies

I just received my shipment of starfish! They are perfect. Now to figure out how I am going to incorporate them as part of our escort cards for our guests. Also, hoping I will not have any trouble bringing them to Mexico.

Dress Advice
GingerBride replied to GingerBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
@acw271011 Stella York really isn't that expensive compared to other designers. I think her prices run from $800 to $1800 Canadian. For my dress with the taxes it was just over $1500. In the grand scheme of things that's not too bad at all. Which dress from Stella are you looking at? -

@@acw271011 thank you so much!! It's a Stella York. I was able to order it but it is now discontinued!! I just love it and I don't think I could imagine wearing another dress. I will go shopping for a nice blinged out belt/slash this weekend -
Mexico brides! I have a question, has anyone ever been to the Maya Mall at the Barcelo resorts? I am curious if it's just a mall for clothing or is there a market as well that I can purchase some local wedding favours for my guests. I ordered some starfish from the US and now I'm worried that a) they will not get delivered to me in Canada as d'uh they were an animal and I probably won't be able to bring them in to Mexico. I am not too upset by this as I will gladly keep them all for my Christmas tree! However, I still would like to have a nice gift for my guests and why not support the locals and save on filling my luggage! Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!!

Dress Advice

@@MissJen3 @@maybeoneday @@Wafflesmom @@beckys98 Thank you so much ladies! It means a great deal as I was quite shy to post my picture. Ok, I have fell in love with this dress the moment I tried it on. The only thing I thought was it might be too full at the bottom for a destination wedding especially for a plus sized girl like me.... what are your thoughts? Also, belt or no belt?

One Bridesmaid Driving Me Nuts! (Rant)
GingerBride replied to IzzyDeee's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
@@IzzyDeee that is sad. Not sure what to do in this situation. I would hate to see your friendship dissolve after the wedding. I see two options here... just talk with her, ask her what's up? Perhaps she should just be a guest at your wedding and not a bride's maid. It would be uncomfortable for you and her when you are doing your thank you speech and you mention all the people that have helped you out and she is the one bride's maid that you leave out. Or just let it go, don't even think about it and don't ask her repeatedly to join. Some people like that drama and attention "Oh please come, it wouldn't be the same with out you!!!" I have a friend like that. When it came down to the final day to pay for the trip she said she doesn't know if she could afford it etc etc. All I said was it's ok if you can't make it. But in the end because I didn't put up a fuss she booked without issue. Her Birthday is coming up and I said oh we will need to celebrate - maybe a spa day or something and she basically said I don't think I will be able to do any big celebrations until after your wedding in Mexico, I'm broke now. I just replied with ok, we will have a great time in Mexico then! Some people love drama and will always try to make things about them. I hope that you can resolve it without a lost friendship. -
One Bridesmaid Driving Me Nuts! (Rant)
GingerBride replied to IzzyDeee's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
@@IzzyDeee Yeah, that's pretty disappointing...however, do you think it's just that she can't afford to go to the showers and other parties? Maybe just talk with her. Let her know that if she can't afford a gift (due to the expense of the actual destination wedding) that it's not the gift that matters to you it's her and her friendship that means the most to you. If it's not that, then I would be upset too. Hope you are able to make things work with her -
@@xtinabe that's too bad you were not able to take pictures. I was able to and I am so glad I was because the dress i thought I was going to say yes to did not look great in pictures. The first dress I tried on was the only picture I kept of me as it looked the best so that's the dress I ended up ordering! Good luck, I hope you find your dream dress!

Hi ladies! Has anyone booked the Mariachi for their wedding reception at any of the Barcelo Maya resorts? I'm tempted to book them for the reception for some entertainment. Are they worth the cost? Thanks!
-
Hey Cometgirl, I've been working with Tania D. at Barcelo, she has been really great thus far. I am currently on the step for seating arrangements and table set up in the banquet room. We chose the Mint Breeze package. I am kind of stuck on this step for now as I would like a final count of our guests before sending it off. If you don't mind me asking, what are the price ranges for "other decorations" that you mentioned? Also, have you reached the step to choose your bouquets and boutonnieres? I'm a little impatient to see all these options! No fault of Barcelo - I take ownership on this one Christina

@@cfinkenbine just like @@calgarybride2015 said the LED candles would be perfect! the only thing is I have only seen them in white but that doesn't mean they don't have other colours. Depending on what Barcelo quotes us for centerpieces I may have to do something similar too. Have they sent you the styles of bridal bouquets yet? My travel agent has sent an email requesting a wedding coordinator contact but I still have yet to hear back. I am trying to be patient.
