We plan to book at Riu Palace Riviera Maya. It has so many good reviews, is close to PDC, and has been in the top 3 resorts of anyone in the travel business we've asked.

We are looking at sometime in spring 2016 - most likely April. Just need to confirm a date but will do so after Christmas. Congratulations!

2016 bride here as well! We won't be booking our date until the new year as once it's booked, our guests only have 90 days to put down their deposit at the guaranteed rate. I wouldn't want them to have to do that before Christmas so we will be confirming right in January. We have decided on the resort (in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico) and look forward to the planning of it all! This site is awesome...it has so many good ideas!

Thank you for all the reception specific info for the RPRM in this thread. My fiance and I plan to get married in Mexico in the spring of 2016 and have decided to have it at the RPRM. We are expecting a big crowd - probably close to 60 - so we we want to have a private dinner/reception. For a private reception, can we have a DJ for the reception? I'd like to have a fun reception with dancing so it's important to have a DJ there. If there is any information you can share with me, that would be much appreciated! Hi Shonda - have you found out any information yet? I am looking at booking our wedding at RPRM in March 2016 and am curious about a couple of things such as the types of packages, how much other options cost including if I wanted a private reception, and even what the restaurants look like inside. The only pictures I've seen are of the steakhouse and with long tables. I was hoping to have round tables at my wedding reception but not sure if that would even be possible. Looking forward to hearing from you, or anyone else that can help!

My fiance and I spoke with a wedding coordinator here in Toronto last week and I think we'll be going with her because she's quite knowledgeable and I just really like her personality. She also recommended the Azul resorts, but we are starting to get our heart set on being really close to Playa which is narrowing our search quite a lot.

Hi everyone! I'm new to this site as I've recently become engaged (yay!). My fiancee and I are planning a destination wedding in the spring of 2016 to the Mayan Riviera - as close to Playa Del Carmen as we can. After a lot of research online, we've narrowed it down to the Riu Palace Riviera Maya and the Iberostar Paraiso Lindo but am looking to all of you for 1) additional recommendations or 2) your opinion on which resort we should select. We are expecting between 60-80 people including some children. I'd also love your opinion on if we should use a Wedding Coordinator located here in Canada or just go through a travel agent.
