  1. Love, love, love coral. This is the only color that I know I'm going to use. I will likely keep it simple with shades of coral with white, green and khaki sprinkled in.
  2. My mother hasn't passed but I planned on doing this as well. I plan on using wedding pictures of both of our parents and grandparents.
  3. @@Bride2b15 - Congrats to you. Not sure if you got your question answered but I think it varies from resort to resort. But it seems that most of those details aren't fully discussed with the coordinator until 1-3 months before your date. I believe candles and sashes are extra. I would look at the wedding pricing sheet in the wedding guide. It's posted online. HTH
  4. @@laquanharris I'm also getting married at an AMResorts. My resort isn't even open yet. So like you I have some concerns as I'll be in the "working out the kinks" wave of brides getting married there. Like the other ladies said take the reviews with a grain of salt you chose that resort for reason. You'll be fine. Shoot, my resort has some bad reviews too and they're not even open yet!!!
  5. Oh yes, preownedweddingdressess.com is what i was thinking of. The other is oncewed.com
  6. I'm planning to send this out with our invites. Just not sure of the style yet.
  7. @@robertandreneesayido I waited for awhile before I even looked for a dress. I got engaged about 5 months ago and just ordered my dress last week for my April wedding. Have you tried looking into sample sales or a bridal outlet that would allow you to purchase basically off the rack with minor alterations? There are also several online sites where brides sell their dress at discounted prices. Or are you specifically looking for new? Perhaps Allure, Sophia Tolli, Mikaella, Essence of Australia. Good luck
  8. I will look into site as an option for the groom's attire. Thank you
  9. Lots of great ideas posted here. I'm going a more non-traditional route with my bags. I found some great sellers on Etsy.
  10. @@Mangosong I will be at Dreams Las Mareas in Playa El Jobo. It's at the very northern tip of Guanacaste. It's a new Dreams resort opening this November. I chose this one because 1) I've always wanted to go to Costa Rica, 2) Dreams has a pretty good reputation for destination weddings 3) I prefer newer properties and wanted something all-inclusive. If you want a secluded location this one is very secluded. If you prefer to be in a more tourist area then I would head further south in Guanacaste. Good luck to you. Let us know what you decide on!
  11. Yes, my resort is sold out the entire week that I'm there. There is a wedding booked every day Monday - Sunday. Probably because the date falls after Easter and around (US) spring break. I booked my photographer and DJ early because they're likely to get booked up fast. Both locales would be beautiful but Curacao would probably have more availability as Punta Cana is very popular.
  12. @@Mangosong - I don't have many details but my girlfriend took her husband there for his birthday a couple of months ago. From her photos the hotel and location are beautiful. They really had a good time from the pictures. They took beautiful pictures of the hotel, food, sunsets and activities. For my wedding I chose a different location in Costa Rica but this one looks really nice.
  13. I keep going back and forth on taking engagement pictures. I want to take some but not really sure.
  14. Thanks! This looks really easy to do. I didn't think about going on Etsy to look for these. I saw some a Michael's yesterday but I was not crazy about the lettering.
  15. @@Brit11 - Congrats to you! Me and a few other April Costa Rica brides will be at the new Dreams Resort near Playa El Jobo. It's also in Guanacaste but further north in a secluded area.
  16. I always drink at least have my body weight in ounces. I start drinking mine when I first wake up and a big glass about 30 mins before each meal. It's easier for me to do it that way so I know I'll get all my water in.
  17. I think the good thing about @@Laks86 plan is that if the "vendor" is staying at the resort the vendor fee doesn't apply. The question would be how would they get their dj equipment there or would you just plan on renting from the resort? @@projecttwayne2015 - I still didn't hear back from Rocio or Alejandro. ughhh I think I might just have to let you talk to them for me. They seem to respond to you! Yes, let me know about the florist. I want to keep that simple but I'm open to other options. I figured the food would be around that much. Thankfully I'm not as far over as you. Did they provide you with the food options yet or just the price?
  18. @@Laks86 - I already booked my dj and photographer and I believe that @@projecttwayne2015 at least booked her photographer as well. she was looking at dj's last i spoke with her. We also talked about decor options offered by the resort so I would be open to looking other decor options as well. I'll see if I can find your group on FB. Thank you
  19. We'll both be over 35. It just took us awhile to find each other!
  20. So sad to hear of the devastation in Cabo. I hope the people of Cabo are able to rebuild quickly back to its beauty. I also hope that you future brides are still able to have the wedding of your dreams.
  21. @@bkprettygirl, I have not been able to get a response from anyone at the resort in the past couple of weeks. I understand that their response my be slow since their still preparing for their opening but I'm getting nervous as well. Who were working with to secure your date?
  22. Congrats ladies. April 2015 in Costa Rica!!!
