Hi! Does anyone have any experience with Westin Punta Cana Resort and Club? I am considering this resort for our October 2015 wedding. I did a quick search on it but no topics popped up. Should I give my guests other options to stay at and they can just come to the resort for the wedding? Since there are no preset wedding packages, has anyone had experience with the wedding planner and how everything turned out?

I was looking at this resort as an option but opted not to since we wanted an outside photographer (and we are too cheap to pay the fee) and also because guests who are not staying at the resort would have to buy a pass to get to the wedding. I have a couple of guests who are entertaining the idea of staying at a different resort and I didn't want to add more to their expenses. Other than those things, though, it looks like a beautiful place and I like how they included the wedding expense calculator! I took my two sisters (who are my bridesmaids) and my aunt. My mother had to work that day so she was unable to go. Needless to say, they were very helpful and I found the dress of my dreams! I know some books and websites say not to bring too large of an entourage because differing opinions can cause a disaster. I think you just have to be really selective about who you want to accompany you - take the people who are tactful and honest. I honestly think my last visit was successful because my mother wasn't there. She is very opinionated and isn't very open minded which made our first trip shopping very difficult. But anyway, that's my two cents. Good luck in finding your dress! I'm sure it will be beautiful!
